I have been paying for 200mb download speeds for over a year now but when doing a speed test the highest download I would ever get was 30mb. Now with the the Linksys VELOP system in my 2,800 square foot house, I get wireless everywhere and have speeds up to 192mb!! Easy setup, easy troubleshooting.

The install was quick and easy with the app. Performance is fast and works anywhere in the house without needing to re connect to a WiFi extender. The only problem I can see is that the parental shutoff will not disconnect the internet from the game console.

Get Connected Even in the Dead Zone

It is absolutely great product especially if you have dead zones or no wifi zones in your house or more than one story. I have been able to put every device I have in my house on my network using wireless. I am able to multi task with this Linksys system. I have been able to stream HD movies and have my kids stream music and game online all at the same time. I am able to use my VOIP Phone system with out dropped calls. Another great thing about each node is there is 2 LAN ports on the each one so if you need to you could plug in a computer into a node if does not have wireless options. Set up was painless and easy with the online Linksys App that you download on your cellphone or tablet it walks you through each step of the process. You're able to stay connected to your network at home and away. The app allows you to monitor your system through the Linksys app. This product is a must for any one who has weak wifi connection, dead zones / no wifi zone, or just a novice setting up a router and home wifi system.

    Outstanding mesh wifi system

I have really enjoyed my velop mesh wifi system since buying it. Set up from the phone app was easy to understand and fallow, as well as fast. Nothing complex to set up or program. Just connect the node to the modem. Put in the wifi name and password on the app and set up your additional node around house and done. Since setting it up, my wifi signal not only improved everywhere but my download and upload speeds also improved. Utilizing the net tier level I am paying for from provider to it's full potential. App is also easy to use and has some great features like parental blocking to safeguard against my niece and nephew from going to sites they don't need to go, as well as guest wifi user option that I can turn off and on for security. I can even set up to three devices as the primary system to get much of the bandwidth over the other device. Perfect for a serious gamer like me. This such a great mesh wifi system and I would recommend it to anyone looking into getting one.

Much better solution than standalone products that aren’t networks for larger homes. Also, despite being out of warranty, the tech spend lots of time with me to reinitialize the system.

I was having issues with my Belkin router. Drops, speed, etc. I ended up seeing this at Best Buy. Having a larger house, I figured I'd try it. It has been flawless. The app based setup was unbelievably easy, and the app can give me status updates at anytime. Speed issues are gone.

I purchased this product to replace a Netgear router/extender that was performing poorly. I had the entire system set up in under 15 minutes, & the coverage is better than I've ever had. Also, there is absolutely no loss in speed. This is a MUST buy for better wifi coverage.

    Works but needs tweaking

I found the setup to be fairly easy considering there is no documentation. I had to find answers online. Although they say each node will cover approx 2000 sq ft, I found that to be an overstatement. I originally bought the 2 node set and it didn't come close. During setup I kept getting an orange or red light indicating I was too far away even though my home is only 3000 sq ft. I had to do my own research to determine I could use an ethernet cable in more than the 1st node but even hard wired, if you are too far away from the other unit you will get a red light. I ended up buying the 3 node package which seems to be doing a great job. Also, make sure you run the channel finder after setup to insure the best performance.

      Hi, Techie,

The 2 Velop nodes should be capable of covering your 3000 sq.ft home. However, your house structure, thick walls, metals objects and other signal interference would affect your Velop's overall performance. We would love to have one of our Escalation Engineers look closely into your network setup to ensure that you're maximizing your Velop's potential. Please don't hesitate to dial 800-986-0518, or send us your contact details and the link to this review at [email protected], at your convenience.

I have owned this product for nearly 2 years with no problems, setup was easy and they maintained their signal strength in a 2200 sq. ft home with ease and very strong internet speed for all devices in the home. i recently did have a problem with the routers not working and tried to resolve it myself, but could not. I called the Linksys technical support team just one time and was quickly answered by a technician. The phone call was not handed off to another department but was resolved by the very same technician that answered the phone. Very impressed with the product and the support that Linksys provides to it's customers. i just wish other companies could mirror the Linksys company values. I would recommend this product as a top choice.

This system has been very reliable. The range and speed is awesome. I run 3 Roku TVs, 4 computers, Alexa, and several cell phones with no problems. I can have all 3 TVs running shows in HD with no buffering. I'm really glad I switched to the linksys velo system.

    Dramatic improvement in WiFi coverage

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

After trying several different WiFi configurations for my home I decided to spring the extra money on a quality mesh system. My home is an unusual shape, almost like a capital T. With my internet service originating at one extreme I inevitably had coverage issues approaching the other extremes. With a somewhat technical background I felt the proper way to address my coverage issues was to have my house re-fitted with proper network cabling but struggled with the idea (mostly cost and hassle) of going this route. I have used (and still use for specific situations) range extenders and power line adapters but these are (imho) very limited with respect to speed and convenience. They are OK for some basic browsing and other situations/applications where time-sensitivity is not a factor but fall flat when trying to use them for streaming video, or audio or video conferencing type use. I opted for the Velop system after reading numerous reviews of competing products, their strengths/weaknesses, and general and technical observations about speed and features. With my specific situation, a key driving factor was the shape of my home, and while I can't offer opinions of products I haven't used, I knew that a 2-node system would be risky for me (financially), and have a far less likelihood of success. The setup process was very straightforward. I appreciate the convenience an app-driven setup in lieu of folded and verbose Quick Start guides. I took my time and positioned my nodes thoughtfully to have the best possible coverage, trying to avoid long distances or layers of walls or materials that might obstruct signals. Once I had done my physical installation, the configuration of the system from the app was simple and effective - taking me about 15 minutes in total to get it working. The app provides feedback to you regarding the placement of the devices and whether they are within the target range (presumably for signal strength and communication between the devices). It is noteworthy that, unlike most WiFi routers and APs, you are not directly interacting with individual nodes (neither during setup or thereafter), but rather a service that is used to manage them. More on this in my points below. Once up and running I opted for the Speed Test within the app (another handy feature), and to my surprise found that I was getting my full advertised internet service throughput (FioS 75/75) through WiFi. That was a first. I reran the test in various areas of my house with the same result. My final test before moving on with my day was firing up an HD streaming movie from Amazon on my tablet and walking to each of the extremes in my house. After about 10 minutes I found there were no areas of my house where the audio/video stuttered even once. Success! A couple of surprises, or at least things to be mindful of in case they are deal-breakers for you. Some of this may be learning curve for me (I'm planning on a couple of requests into Linksys support if I can't find answers online or through a more thorough exploration of the app): - IP addressing on your internal LAN appears to be auto-generated from Linksys and is not easily changeable. Probably not a big deal for most but I have a number of devices with static IP assignments on my LAN side so it was a bit of a hassle to manually update those - Specifying DNS servers is not 100% clear. I use OpenDNS for a degree of content control in my house with children, and I have yet figured out how to update the DNS servers my Velop system is using (it may yet be in my account page with Linksys, a required step in setup) - Being somewhat security-conscious I'm sensitive that my home WiFi system is now interacting with a type of service from Linksys. It appears certain aspects (perhaps all) of the configuration of the devices comes from this service. I'm begrudgingly yielding ground here because I simply don't like that Linksys now has (at least it would seem) access to my internal home network. Perhaps this is true now for many routers/firewalls/network devices these days, but the Velop system wears this a bit more "out on their sleeve" than other WiFi implementations. However, given the stellar performance and stability experience I've had to date I'm not taking off any stars for what is merely my perception of security.
