This thing doesn't lose signal or strength. I have a long half acre and it reaches almost to the front of my neighbors house all the way to the back of mine and probably some more

    Best Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System

I had the standard wireless router from the cable company and the signal was not sufficient for my new home. I eventually bought an extender and still was good enough. Once I purchase this system I haven't had an issue with WiFi going out or needing to be reset. It supports all areas of my home and all smart devices. Very easy to setup and the application is awesome and user friendly. It let you prioritize what devices you want connected and also you can set up schedule to disconnect other devices. Also I am able to block access to individual devices. I definitely recommend this product.

    Really nice system

This system was really easy to set up. I had to get a 8 port switch to replace the LAN ports that were on the ASUS router I had but everything worked fine with just a straight forward plugging in the cables. Downloaded the app to my iPhone and followed the directions with no problem. BTW, my internet provider comes in via an ONT rather than a modem but that was no problem. As has been reported, some of the device information is weird/wrong, but so what - no big deal. Awesome range, which is why you buy it. My speed was super originally but as you add devices, it does slow down as you'd expect. I have 17 devices on it as of now.

I bought the three pack and used two in one apartment and one in another and it works great. I got full speed using two nodes even though there are three walls in between them.

Quality router, but needs a better setup proces

The quality of this router is top notch. The tangle free chords, great build, and high quality packaging all screams quality. So far it's downfall would be the setup process. It requires you to download the Linksys app in order to setup your router. If you're using an iOS device, you're fine. Not so much for Android users. I tried completing the setup process using the Android app. It kept locking up and freezing constantly. It never allowed me to complete the setup process. I then dowloaded and installed the app on my iOS device. I had no issues. If you're using an iOS device you will be fine. If you're using the Android version of the app, you may run into the same issue I had. Hopefully this can be addressed.

      Hi, CDF3,

The setup process of this product should run smoothly using the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app for either iOS (8.0 or later) or Android (4.0.3 or later). We’d like to take a closer look into what happened during the setup using the Android app. It would be greatly appreciated if you could email us, at [email protected], so that our Engineering team can try to replicate this scenario. Include your contact details and the link to this review.

Linksys Velop for very solid wifi

Unfortunately with the foam insulation in between my walls, I have had a pretty poor wifi signal to reach my entire house. I previously used a wifi extender with little luck. I took the three velop system out of the box, downloaded the mobile app and within 10 min had the my the entire system up and running with ease. You really need no technical skills to get the system going. Once up and running I got a very strong signal throughout the entire house. My house is a two story 3500 sq foot, but I think it would work fine if my place was bigger. I put 2 units upstairs and the remaining down stairs. I honestly couldn't be happier.

I was a little skeptical when the BestBuy associate spewed the usual sales pitch about how amazing this is and how it would really speed up my Wi-Fi. But when I got this home and tried to make it work with my comcast gateway I could not get it to detect the internet connection. So, I contacted Linksys tech support and they helped me so through the set up and determined that the firmware needed updating and once that was complete it set up quickly and the three pods are setup throughout my home and the WIFI has no dead zones anywhere. I am so pleased how this system works and highly recommend it.

After investing in 6 nest cam I ran into issues where some were working intermittently because of wifi issues. Decided to buy the Linksys whole house wifi system and it did the trick. Being an IT guy I also decided to hard wire it into my home network since I already hard wired my house 2 years ago while I was doing some DIY renovations and setup a cat6 network throughout my house. I daisy chaining them together and then back to my Ethernet switch and what a difference in speed. Wish nest made a cam that can be connected hardwire since that the best connection but thankfully this Velop remedied my situation.

Nice upgrade. Had the lower grade version but as kids got more devices, more home devices, etc the need for more power was obvious. Much smoother handling of devices with minimal buffering issues. Sometimes have to reset the system to jump start speed but there may be some other way to accomplish this if I sat down and really worked through the options. Overall happy and having good outcomes with over 35 devices connected to it.

    Meh...

OK, I've had these for more than a year, and they work OK, but just had one of my nodes crap out. Ethernet ports apparently quit. Child Node was hooked by Ethernet to parent and worked fine till now. Child can still work without wired connection, but .. still .. Hardware failure. Also, I've always been frustrated with Linksys' web interface and Ios app. These newer Velops have the same crappy web interface that I have on a WRT from 10 years ago. It is very clunky, and does not reflect current devices well at all. It will show devices online, that I know are off, and also will not show devices that are definitely online. The Ios app and web interfaces never match or agree with each other. Plus I hate that anytime you make the smallest edit or change to anything the entire system needs to reboot, taking everything down for 2-3 minutes. Still using these for now, but next time I need a new router, I will not buy a Linksys.

I don't want to rehash everything that has already been stated about how great this product is, so I will just say that it does exactly what I wanted...and well. The one hitch I had is that I wasn't getting the same speeds as my ISP supplied modem - dropped from 117 Mbps to around 70. I worked through troubleshooting with both Linksys and my ISP for more than 6 hours. Just before I gave up, I decided to try one last thing. I removed the Linksys supplied Ethernet cable and used my own. I was immediately getting 117+ Mbps again...throughout the entire 3100 sq ft house. Great product.

    Was a journey

Since I got it figured out it has worked absolutely flawlessly. My only concern is I spent 2 hours on the phone with tech support to get it set up. Now the rep from tech support was very knowledgeable and did her best to make it happen as quickly as possible, but she also told me with the latest firmware update their were a few situations like mine where it took more than the "minutes" described in the box. It was a journey and I hope they keep striving for improvement, but the set up was a bear at first and for that reason I can only give it a 4 star.

So far so good. I've had my 2 node system up and running without a hiccup for a couple months now. Linksys tries to force the use of the phone app for setup (although there is an unadvertised way around it, which you can find by searching the internet). Ultimately, I chose this mesh wireless routing system over the many others on the market for the fact that I could get around the app only setup that they advertise. I couldn't seem to find any others that allowed setup outside a mobile device app. I have a 3 story house on just under .4 acres and I have coverage everywhere on my property.
