    Good product so far

We weren't sure what we needed to extend wifi outside to our pool. Two different people told us 2 different things. I'm glad we chose this option as it's working well so far. Except that one of the nodes didn't work and we worked on it for 2 hours. Finally figured out it was the node and got a new set. New set worked fine and was easy to install. Not exactly sure about how the app works yet. Internet speed still seems slow but that's a provider issue I'm guessing.

Got this 3 piece setup for a home in Cabo San Lucas that has concrete walls and multiple levels. Have never found a solution that would cover the whole house that is around 6000 sq ft. This setup gives full bars anywhere in the house and outside the house. Pretty amazing the range this thing puts out. Much better than any repeater setup.

    Great Addition to Our Home

This was a great purchase for our home. We've had issues over the past month and only getting 15-20 Mbps and we have a 100 Mbps service. The initial instillation was frustrating at first because I read all the reviews on how easy it was. After I reset my second node everything went smoothly and I'm now getting 60-80 Mbps speeds now depending if I'm upstairs or in my basement. I've never experienced this speed before and streaming how no buffering which is great with kids who can't wait for anything.

Living in a larger house, we had a lot of problems with dead spots on one side of the house and in the backyard. Since installing a Velop system we now enjoy our full internet speeds across the entire house.

I bought this after talking about my wifi needs with the BB employee, it is great, I liked the possibility to use the same wifi name and password so I didn't have to change and update my existing internet connected appliances. It was really simple to install, it took around 3-5 minutes to the first nod to get connected to the Xfinity modem but after that the rest of the nods were pretty much, plug and play. I put one by the window and now I have perfect reception in all the backyard and garage.

    So far so good

For starters I always read reviews but seldom leave them. I was excited about this system from when I first started reading up on it and purchased the first day it was available in my local store. I have verizon fios and have heard about the technical difficulties with installing additional routers. Needing to put in bridge mode, etc. I will say that it was not as simple as I would have hoped to setup, I did spend an hour and a half on the phone with customer support. We did not have to put it in bridge mode but I did turn the wireless off on the actiontec router. We were able to get the first node connected and hit a glitch while trying to connect the second. The representative gave up and told me that I would be contacted in 2 hours by an engineer. This did not happen, I actually just got the call back 23 hours after they said I would. The thing is, I was able to get everything set up on my own after trying continuously and after a few resets and unplugging power from the additional nodes. Now for the good, I have a two level house plus a basement and I put a node on each floor, alternating sides on each floor. Coverage seems great. I pay for 100/100 and am getting just a little bit more now where before I averaged 60 in the room with my router and anywhere between 30-60 elsewhere in the house. Long story short, set up was a bit painful. Might be easier if you don't have Verizon and have to deal with their quirks. I deducted 1 star for this but hopefully their set up process will improve as techs become more knowledable about the product. The super fast wifi coverage all through my house now was worth the few hours of pain though. Time will tell how it continues to work. I will update if I run into any issues down the road.

    Back to Eero.....

    Posted .

I really, really wanted to keep this mesh network. However, as some other reviewers have stated, it's not ready for prime time even almost a year into its initial release. I am not foreign to mesh networks. I was one of the first people to buy the first-generation eero mesh network. It worked beautifully, but alas, with 1GB download speeds available from Fios, I was only able to get 100 MBPS wireless across my home. It just wasn't fast enough, and the folks from eero were the first to admit that. Since then, eero has released a second-generation mesh system. Initially, when I connected my 4 pack of Velop systems across my home, I was amazed. They provided a larger area of coverage than my eero systems and I was getting 3x the wireless speed I was getting before. I was very, very happy. But along the way, the system became riddled with failures and I found myself constantly on the phone with Linksys support to get them fixed. The main problem I had was that the nodes would just suddenly start shutting down. I had to have Linksys replace one of the child nodes. Then, other nodes started failing for no particular reason. Meanwhile, my Internet hardwired connection was working perfectly. What really pushed me over the edge was the fact that the entire system relies on Linksys' own cloud service to operate and that often was down. So, when their system goes down, so does everyone's chance to keep their home systems running. It was inane trying to connect my system only to see a message on my app saying that the Linksys Cloud Service was down and I could not continue. I packed up my entire Velop system and sent it back to Costco. Fortunately, I never returned my eero system. I took it out of the closet, hooked it back up, and now I am enjoying reliable internet across my home with none of the failures I was getting with Linksys. Yes, the wireless speed is not as fast, but I have my main computer hardwired to my router and that is where I really need the speed. Besides, eero now has a new mesh system that is just as fast and powerful as Linksys. I am thinking about purchasing that as I feel very confident about the eero model. I no longer feel confident about Linksys -- not when I have to depend on them keeping their own systems up. I would not recommend this product.

Completely changed the speed/responsiveness and coverage for our wi-fi without changing the modem or upgrading the internet service. Clearly our previous router was substandard and lacked the ability to cover our whole house (6,000 sq.ft.). Installation was very simple with the phone app. Getting it on sale with $100 off closed the deal for the Linksys vs competitor which is better known brand. Can't imagine how the other brand could work any better than this.

I have 2 stories townhouse with total of 3000 ft squares area. I tried netgear AC3200 was really good but my bedroom in the second floor was in the dead zone I tried Luma wifi system/ 3 pieces, it did help to get rid of the dead zone but the speed was 50% in the second floor. I returned both and best buy guy recommended linksys. I tried it and Actually I was impressed with the 2 pieces. My whole house was full of 100% speed, 100 mbps no dead zone. Really impressed!

I finally replaced my Belkin N750 and booster which was draining bandwidth and continually crashing. The set-up of the three VELOP nodes took only minutes using the app on my cellphone. As sson as I installed my streaming on multiple platforms (Netflix, Hulu, HBO GO, Slingbox) turned blazing fast with no lag or delays. Thank you Linksys. I went to Bestbuy intending to buy a orbi ot eero system but after viewing the specs and reviews of Velop, it was an easy decision.

Prior to installing the Linksys Velop system, we had very poor internet coverage on the second floor of our home with several dead spots. Now we have great coverage throughout. Installation was not difficult using the app. We had one issue that required contacting support. Our call was answered promptly and the tech could not have been more helpful! He was very patient and made sure that our issue was resolved. We were very impressed!! The system is operating flawlessly.

This is one the best routers on the market, I did a little research on it coming from the Linksys EA8500 before I bought it and they did not lie. I bought the 2 pack but only use 1. I live in a 1800 sq foot and I have 5 bars everywhere. Even when I go outside to the park across the street I still have 4 bars. App is super easy to use and set up (easiest set up I have ever had). Would highly recommend and unless you have a huge house you only need 1 (you can always add on later)

Was in the market for a new routing solution to eliminate in home dead spots.. I had a big choice to make between either the Netgear orbi & the Linksys velop.. After carefully reading reviews and figuring out my budget I decided on the velop.. If you cannot afford the orbi rbk 50, the velop is the best solution.. The other orbi models aren't that great spec wise.. For the same price as the rbk 40 you can get the velop for basically the same price and triple the power.
