Customers are impressed with the Velop AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System's ease of use, coverage, and setup, frequently citing its simple installation and strong signal. Many also praise the system's range and performance, reporting consistently reliable connectivity. However, some users experienced connection issues and noted the relatively high price. A limited number of Ethernet ports was also a recurring point of feedback.

Best wifi system I have purchased

I am an IT manager for a large company, I have used linksys wifi access points, ubiquity unifi access points. Blackhawk routers, and never had good signal throughout my home. I bought the 3 pack of these, and my download speeds are over 100mb anywhere on the property, simple setup, easy monitoring. I would like to see more parental controls. But for raw speed and coverage the 3 pace covers my 4000 foot home with no issues whatsoever

    Best System I've Had

I live with two other people, both of whom are relatively tech savvy. We have about 20 devices connected total, and are paying for the fastest speed available On the rented router from our service provider, we got maybe 15 mbps when not hardwired into the router. After setting up the Velop (which took 15 minutes and a call to my ISP), we were immediately blown away by how fast our internet was. Our dead spots are a thing of the past.

Love everything about this device. The setup is fool proof and is done from their smartphone app. Takes less than 10 min to set up. The device prioritation is fantastic as well. Lets me guarantee consistent bandwidth to my streaming devices and helps with streaming quality. Parental controls are easy to set up with the app as well. Can limit types of sites as well as internet time and other features. I would recommend this to anyone.

I'd just like to say that this is amazing. I have a large house and had been looking at mesh solutions for awhile now, prior to this I was using the Orbi, which while great, was not a true mesh solution. When I first heard about the Velop I was intrigued. It had the same private channel for inter device communication the Orbi introduced, but also was a true mesh solution. It also comes in a three pack unlike the Orbi which meant I didn't have to buy an extra single unit. I had some trouble setting the new system up. It refused to work at all the first night I tried it. But the next day it miraculously worker without a hitch. I don't like that it requires a smart device to control, you cannot access the router page from a computer at all, but it isn't the largest inconvenience ever. My big problem with it is that it has a stunningly large lack of features. No way to reboot, no way to check connection between nodes or tell which node a device is connected to. No way to seperate 2.5 and 5 ghz networks. Hoepfully these will all be fixed quickly with firmware and software updates. If that happens this will easily be a 5-star product.

    Very impressed with this system

I've been looking for the last few months for a way to get a better wifi signal in my kitchen and middle floor area. We have a tri-level house and our XFinity gateway is downstairs as far from the kitchen as could be. We were using a basic extender where our devices like phones and tablets would log into whichever gateway or extender had the better signal. That worked, just not very well or reliably over the last year or so. So, i started looking at "mesh" systems like Velop. There are some good ones and this one had the best reviews so we tried it. I installed it about two weeks ago and 2 Velop nodes in our house. Our house is about 2600 sq feet in total and was worried that the 2 node pack was not enough but after using it, it has been just enough for us. One node installs at the gateway/router, and then we put the other in the kitchen on the other side of the house and that was enough to cover all of our dead spots. We initially installed it in a corner and the app told us that was a weak spot and to move it. We moved it about 20 feet away and that was perfect. And, it totally blends in in our kitchen because we chose white as the color. In total we now have complete equal and fast wifi in our house. Our speed was only about 30mbs before and after we were able to get up to the 150mbs it should have been all along that we were paying for.to our internet provider. The set up only took a few minutes per node which was awesome. Totally happy, and think this system is worth every penny

I love it and saw the instant boost in dead zones. From 5-10 mbps jump to 50-90 mbps depending on the time of day. Recommended toa few friends and each saw similar results!

I reviewed the common wireless mesh networks that are currently on the market and decided that since I run a home based business, i would "splurge" for the most expensive option. The ratings on speed and reliability were what really sold me though. I am a stickler about making sure my equipment is not bottle necking my ISP so I run multiple tests each day (I did before getting the Velop also). Not once in the last couple of weeks have any of my speed tests dropped below my ISP package max speed. I also utilize WiFi calling on my cellphone due to marginal cellular reception in my home. With my previous set up I would have noticeable delays both up and downstream, making conference calls an absolute nightmare. Since hooking up this system I have had absolutely zero delays in my WiFi calling and am experiencing blazing fast streaming on all my mobile devices. There were some reviews that I read that said the user had issues getting the nodes to be recognized or that the 2nd or 3rd nodes would not attach to the mesh network properly, but I had no issues at all. I had all 3 nodes up and running within about 10-15 minutes. I am extremely satisfied with this set up. The mobile apps interface is pretty self explanatory and does not seem to be super rich in features, but I do like some of the customizability such as I have labelled all of the normal devices in my home and created prioritization for my work devices. Features such as guest networks and parental controls are there from a network access level, which I think is really cool, but I have not had the need to utilize them yet.

This is by far the BEST way to stretch your wifi without adding a range extender that ultimately slows you down. After setting this system up and using it for a few days I called the cable company to do a speed test, we were getting better speeds than we were paying for! A huge noticeable difference! The best part is the flexibility, you can bring the fastest speed to you rather than hunting down the 'sweet spot' in the house.

    Most of them work okay

I've had these for several years. Two of the three worked fine the entire time. One of the three has been a lemon for the vast majority of the time I've owned the system. It repeatedly needs set up and after successful setup, it drops in just a few hours. I tried resetting, reconfiguring, updating firmware....the one is just broken. So 2/5 stars since only 2/3 actually work. Addition star deduction because Linksys support is seemingly non-existent. Several times I attempted to submit an online form for support and each time the form errored out. The app works fine and the other two nodes work fine, but given the hardware issue and inability to submit a simple support inquiry I would choose a different brand in the future.

Are you a little bummed that technology has advanced and you're having to replace a router-extender setup that seems perfectly good, except for a little dust and except for that fact that it no longer works as well? Well, get over it, because for a sprawling house or for the house-andnext-door-cottage setup that we have, the Linksys Velop is a perfect solution. The Velop was a great suggestion, recommended by Best Buy sales associate Vanessa after she consulted with John of the Geek Squad. I appreciated the extra care that was taken to make sure this product would do the job. The sleek, unobtrusive design of the "nodes" is rivaled by the simple, elegant design of the packaging -- very Apple-esque. On a desk, table, or windowsill, the nodes take up a small footprint and have no flashing lights or ugly knobs. Cord management is excellent and unobtrusive. Setup using the downloaded app, with all of its simplicity and friendly encouragement, seemed like it would be a breeze, but I hit a snag. It turned out that passwords for this system should use only letters and numbers; I had thrown in a couple special characters. So, I had to contact customer support -- but wow, was that a great experience. Linksys has a specially trained, dedicated support team for the Velop. Shai helped me dial back the setup process, stuck with me through the setup of the third node, and both called and emailed to follow up. The app allows me to test download and upload speeds, which are more than satisfactory. Highly recommend this product.

Once I (and the tech that was helping me) got all the components installed and verified, and made sure it all connected to the cable link for the wifi - it worked great. I have had, not only excellent coverage throughout my home, but the speed has improved as well. Thank you for a terrific product! I also like the app that helps with set up and future checking for connections and speed.

This device works much better than eero or a single router/modem. I have 3 nodes and they all receive a fast, strong signal. I'm out in the country and 7 megs is what I can get, this velop gives me wifi all over my home, shop, and gym. I can also surf in most of my yard. Instructions say if I hardwire the system will work even better. Don't need to but nice to know I can make system stronger.
