Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Velop AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System's ease of use, coverage, and setup, frequently citing its simple installation and strong signal. Many also praise the system's range and performance, reporting consistently reliable connectivity. However, some users experienced connection issues and noted the relatively high price. A limited number of Ethernet ports was also a recurring point of feedback.

Pretty good but could be better

Great service but you will still suffer speed loss when you are splitting the connection, to be honest I don't really know of a system where you won't. Throughout the house the reception it is excellent but the basement is a troublesome area to route.

This is best by far fastest network I ever he I purchase 3 units before I had some areas with coverage now no matter where in the house is the same as the main node at my room so if you want full coverage no buffering I strongly recommended it to anyone

    Amazing router system

This is the latest and greatest as far as hardware is concerned. It works really well but the app is not without its faults. The app is little buggy and not very user but the hardware gets the job done. I finally have the full speed Wi-Fi that I'm paying for all over my house.

I’ve had the Linksys router for 3 years. Their service has been impeccable!! For that reason alone it’s worth buying their products. The velop system I bought has been very reliable

Little trouble going from an older Linksys router to this mesh network. But Linksys support was very helpful. Not plug and play when moving from a non mess router to a mess system. But overall it’s a great router and worth the upgrade.

A promising home wifi system released as a beta

I can directly compare this system to Google Wifi because just before I brought this system home, that's what was running in my house. My biggest issue with Google Wifi was a rare hang up while switching APs. I also had some speed degradation throughout the house. When Velop launched, I was hit hard by their CMO on twitter claiming all my issues would be resolved with Velop and it's three radio system. Initially, Velop took a bit longer to set up than Google Wifi which wasn't a big issue. Once all set up, things initially looked good. I checked my Nest Cam and it gave me an upload speed warning (too low) which was odd because my Node is 5' away from it which was also where the Google wifi AP was. The app is really second rate compared to Google Wifi. Google provides much more information and detail over the Linksys app such as restarting separate APs, checking the mesh network, device pauses (Linksys does have family control) etc. My Google AP also didn't cause slow upload at my cameras. I have 45+ connected devices with some being hard wired through a 16channel switch The Linksys app also shows connected devices, but a lot of them are listed Ethernet connected while in fact they're connected Wifi. Signal strength next to them seems to either be inaccurate or a real let down. My TV shows 1 bar but is able to stream OK. That Nest Cam shows weak, and can't upload 1080 video. I really don't know what's going on in that regard as I can sit 10' away from the camera and router and my phone reads my normal 60down and 5up. I can't say I've had any large speed decreases in my home so far with Velop but my TV did give me a "disconnected from internet fault" at one point. I think these are all things Linksys could fix, except any possible signal issues. I'd hate to return them so quickly but at 200$ more than Google Wifi I can't recommend it in its current state. 1/16 update: Some of my Nest / Dropcams are not playing nice with Velop. Going offline randomly. Still showing wifi devices connected as Ethernet. In the devices tab it's saying my iPhone has a wired connection. Weak Wifi points exist in app although I can't see them being that weak on my end. I've thrown the main beaker in my entire house in efforts of resetting everything! Pay attention to "free product" reviews over actual reviews. As I've said I've gone through at least 5 (now) routers : wifi systems in the past 6 months. Still holding onto my Google Wifi 3-pack before making a decision.

Great product. They've gone a long way! Now you can activate this device using a smartphone alone. This means that no computer is need to make this work. A little expense but only time can tell if this is worth it!

I’ve had this product for almost 2 years now, If you just intend a straight forward Mesh Wifi, it’s an OK product, but if you intend to manage your network properly it’s a nightmare. The Good Stuff: easy setup, will bridge through old plastered interior walls OK, loss is acceptable, very easy to connect new devices. The BAD stuff: Nodes keep on disconnecting, you need to restart them physically every 2 to 3 days. User interface is really outdated. No possibility to put a timer in place. Connected devices have random names and random icons, no logic, and the names can change from one day to another, so good luck knowing who is connecting and what type of devices. Parental control is limited to 16 devices, so if you have 3 kids with (Phone, tablet, console, computer, watch, smart TV, Etc..) you cannot put a schedule in place for all their devices. No possibility to put the guest network on a timer, or any other network for that matter. Each time you change anything to the setup, you need to restart the the system. Turning off the guest network, will require returning guests to re-enter the password. Connected guests have full access to network. So you can install it, but then you are wide open, I would really not recommend this product if you have kids and need to control their internet access.

I bought these to extend the WiFi signal in my home. A technician at the Apple Store told me about the product and Best Buy had a better price. Set up was easy and my WiFi signal is better than it has ever been. Very satisfied with the purchase

Replaced my tri-band router with this system and get much better coverage even though the cost for the two different products were nearly the same. The app is good and I am hoping for an update to allow for individual content settings.

We love this Wi-Fi system. You just download an app and get it connected. The app has many features that I love. Just get it. It's worth it. Evereytime a technician or a friend comes to my house they always says how cool and clean the way it looks.

This unit is excellent, but also the support is excellent at Linksys as well. This is my second wireless system from Linksys and it will not disappoint. If you have problems with the system or goes down years later they HELP you via phone.

I love the Velops. I had bought the eero before the Velops came out and did a lot of research on the best mesh network. I got the Velops to see if they would work better and they did. My speeds are much faster with the Velops and they were so easy to set up

This is the perfect solution to spotty wifi. I was averaging 1-6 Mbs and now it's a consistent 30Mbs in almost every corner of my house! Now that I have the 3 Velop nodes I get coverage everywhere. I refer this set up to any and all of my friends, it works!

Before I got this, I had a router, wifi extenders, and a wife complaining that the internet didn't work well. Getting this gave me a wifi connection that worked well and a happy wife... at least about the internet. I'm WAY ahead with this purchase.

In the realm of wireless routers, none can equal Linksys. We've always purchased this brand and never been disappointed. The Linksys Velop Tri-Band Whole Home Wi-Fi System exceeded our exceptations in cabability, ease of installation, and management.

    Great coverage, bad connectivity

I bought this to replace my router, but in that configuration, it kept dropping its internet connection. The wifi signal is fine, and the connections to all my individual devices are fine and stable, but when I used this in place of my existing router, even my *wired* connections dropped connectivity about once every half hour. If I put it in bridge mode attached to my old router, it works as a great access point (no connectivity or coverage issues at all) but somehow I don't think I should have to.

      Hi, svtdragon,

Hooking up the Velop System to replace your existing router shouldn't cause connectivity issues if it's properly configured to work with your ISP's modem. We're glad that you posted this product review so we can tap one of our Escalation Engineers to look closely into your network setup. Please drop us an email at [email protected] with your contact details and the link to this review for reference.

I was wary of any product that claimed to be able to give me whole home wifi because my modem is downstairs. Wow, am I impressed! my home is over 3000 square feet and I am now able to get fast wifi in any part of the house and on the screen porch.

Have had this product for about 3 months. At first it was great, then it just stopped working one day. I called my ISP, and we determined that the ISP was not the issue. After disconnecting/reconnecting several times, and swapping out the nodes, I finally called Linksys. After a 40 minute wait, a rep finally answered. He asked me several questions, then told me that he was not qualified to answer questions on Velop. He said he would transfer me to another person, and simply put me back in the queue. After another 20 minute wait, I simply hung up.
