Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Don’t buy this product. I gave up on it after 8 months. One of my nodes got disconnected all the time. Finally, after hours on the phone with technical support, they agreed it was defective and were supposed to send me a box to return it for a replacement. The box never came. Two weeks later, the primary node also crapped out completely. I bought an Orbi system that day and it is excellent. No issues at all and it’s much faster and has much broader coverage. 2 units are covering more area than 3 velop nodes plus a 4th plugin one. Don’t waste your money or time.

Did not work for me.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read all the reviews and watch a few videos on YouTube about the velop and all looked great so I bought it, but it didn't work for me, speed drop dramatically from node 1 to 2 and even worse on node 3. I spend hours on the phone with customer service they even scalated my case they change my settings they did everything they could and still same problem at the end the representative told me that it was something to do with the software and that they were coming up with a new version. I waited for a month and still no update.

Horrible..... Don't buy this mesh system....

The customer service with Belkin (Linksys) is really bad. First day on with tech over 1 hr. working on it. Next day waited 1 hr on hold to talk to tech, who worked another 30 min. then finally said that I have a bad node that needs to be replaced. They only wanted to replace 1 node. I told them I want them all replaced. That was a nightmare trying to get approved. Then didn't send me a pre-paid return label and had to wait another 1 hr on hold. Don't buy it - equipment sucks and the customer service is even worse!!!!

Buggy and Slow

Don't buy it for parental controls
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really regret letting the kid at Best Buy convince me to buy this product instead of the Google Home product I wanted. I wasted $500 on something I can't use. I bought this because I NEED parental controls on my wifi and he said this has them. No, it has the illusion of parental controls, but they don't work at all and Linksys apparently doesn't intend to fix the problem. If you search their support forums, TONS of people have the same exact issue and they've never resolved it. Of course Best Buy's 15 day return policy really doesn't give you enough time to realize there are problems. I'm furious.

Power outage: Does not automatically reconnect

Never had to do this with prior routers. I then found many complaints online about this problem with the Linksys Velop system. Wished I had researched prior to buying. It worked great otherwise but I am returning it due to this issue.

Parental controls that work?

Software was easy to understand. The reason I bought this router though was for the parental controls. Practicing on my wife's laptop I tried a shutdown. That did not work. I then tried a timed internet block on my laptop. That did not work either. Called support, we made some change to the Velop system, but everything still works as if no parental controls were in place. Teens won't tell you if the blocks are not working. Taking back to Best Buy as I did not buy a system that needs hours of configuring time to make it maybe work.

So slow

Setup is very easy but I'll be sticking to Comcast's router and I'll buy another traditional router and run a wire I was trying to avoid doing. The purpose of this was to get a connection in my garage. See attached picture the slow speeds were running velop on 5Gz in the room. The first speed is removing it and going back to Comcast's router.

Unreliable and bad customer service from linksys

Overall been very displeased with this product

I have exfinity gigabit speed and my Linksys app will state 866 to 200s when checking speed. My devices will show 30 or 40 MB’s on independent speed test. Not sure why but also every other day I find myself rebooting this horrible mesh system. I may return it. Also, support has been useless. Basically my t25 modem from Areis and this Velop Mesh have both been unreliable at best

No Parential Controls

Multiple conversations with Linksys and they acknowledge that they know they don't work. They are attempting to fix the problem, but have no ETA for the fix. The mesh itself works great as long as you are not trying to keep your kids from going on the internet at certain times or staying away from websites that they are not supposed to be on.

Horrendous .. Worst. Product. Ever.

Terribly unstable - nodes are constantly losing connection with one another, slow speeds, just a bad product all around. Absolutely NOT RECOMMENDED.

If the issue only happens for the child nodes, then please try relocating the nodes near to the other ones and observe the connection. Make sure to update its firmware to the newest version too. THIS LINKSYS - VELOP MESH - IS A FAILURE

They system loses coverage constantly with the nodes. Reconnecting the nodes is a hit and miss. I’ve used Linksys since I’ve needed connectivity in my home, and I have always been pleased with the performace. This Velop Mesh system is a failure.

Impossible to reach customer support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.No matter what device I connected with, any web page redirected to a Linksys page telling me to download the app. Well I already did download the app and went through the entire setup. I was on hold for over an hour before I gave up and returned it to Best Buy. If you ever have problems just know that Linksys doesn’t care about you as long as they have their money.

SETUP IS MISERABLE

I currently have one node 3 feet from the initial one, and it is telling me I need to move it closer. I've spent the last 2 hours trying to get this working. Spend your money on something else. Could not set up - 2 hours of Linksys tech support

First of all Best buy sold me a unit with an old firmware. Linksys showed me how to update the firmare and it still doesn't work. They say they can have level 2 support call me back in 1 to 2 days. Unacceptable.

Waste of money

Great when they work
