I guess this finally worked, but it was a pretty awful set-up experience. I was on the phone with Linksys support for over 2 hours, well into the night. On the positive side, the person was nice and we finally got this working; on the negative side, I was not expecting to need to do that. The enclosed instructions were abysmal. I work in software and can read instructions, when they're provided. This was a very painful experience, and am hoping this never gets messed up because I guess I'd have to call customer service again, given the lack of documentation. So... that it finally works and has stayed up is very good, but my nervousness about ever having to deal with this again makes this a "meh." Depending on your patience, you might want to have Best Buy do the install if you get this?

DH is still trying to get this thing to work. We had to return the first purchase because one of the nodes was defective. The replacement is quirky and he has spent an hour or two with customer service trying to fix it. We are outside the BB return window but I think we may try to send it back under the warranty if it isn't fixed in the next couple of days.

Had the home evaluation done and they recommended the Velop tri-band. Great home coverage! Excellent speed.

No more anxiety of waiting for a much better mesh Network! I already had a mesh system with 3 nodes set up in my home which worked quite well, but did have its occasional "glitchs", but after unboxing and setting up this new (and awesome) Linksys Velop system, I am much more pleased and content now with better AND faster speeds throughout my entire home AND even out in my yard! The set-up was very simple, just download the app (I used IOS), follow the simple instructions on giving your network a name and password. Yes, you make your personal password right off the bat instead of having to change the Jargon that most other systems automatically start you off with. Then plug in the 2nd node, which the network easily found, then the 3rd which was just as quick! Sha-Zam! I tested multiple devices throughout my home and consistently had a seamless connection and fast speeds every time. (even out in my yard). It does have settings for parental controls, which is great, but I don't need to use it, so I can't give details on that. The system automatically selects the best frequency to use for any given device being used for optimal signal strength and speed. (2.4 - 5Ghz) and I definitely have no complaints! Only praise for sure. The nodes, to me, have a decorative and modern clean look to them which makes it easy to just put them anywhere in the house. Overall, I'm impressed with the ease of set-up, the clean sleek design of the nodes and most of all, the fast and consistent coverage, speed (and range) that I am now achieving! Being that it is a new product, I'm sure that Linksys will provide any necessary updates as needed to improve on any possible fixes that the system may need looking forward. Which will only make things even better than it already is. I would definitely recommend this system for everyone who wants whole-home wi-fi coverage
