    COverage could be better

    This device was to answer my wifi coverage issues. While the functionality is great, I do not have consistent coverage and it drops devices regularly. Perhaps there are kinks to work out.

    I had high hopes for this product. Brought it home and started setting it up. Although it is designed to be simple it turned into a nightmare. I was getting notifications to bring the child node closer and closer. Even when they were next to each other they would not communicate. I then had to resort to resetting all the modes and was advised by tech support to set all three up in the same room. That worked. Now I went to distribute the nodes thru my 3000sf house and one of them kept disconnecting. Mind you, this system is reportedly designed to cover up to 6000sf. Once I finally found a spot where all three were talking to each other I tested the speed. The links's app claimed 100mbps download and 121 upload (my isp is 100/100). Looked great so far. Then I decided it to test it with Speedtest and while standing next to one of the child nodes I was getting 2mbps download and 0.5mbps upload. Certainly not what it is advertised to do. I got fed up and returned the product.

    Bought this on black friday just a few weeks ago. This was supposed to be an upgrade to my old 6yr old Asus router. I have fiber at 500/500 and my Asus does right around 500 up/down. This new Linksys does about 400 down and 60-100up. I tried to run a cat5e directly to the router and still get same results. We have a total of 5 computers and they all get the same results, wired or wireless. I cannot recommend this as the newer technology is slower and weaker that the old. It's past the 14 day return, so I will live with it for now.

    One of the three towers, always loses connection. After connecting, it changes to the purple light, not holding the blue light for continuous connection.

    Good at first but many issues after 9 months

    When I bought this in Dec 2018 it work perfectly. But since October I’ve had many issues. The connected node keeps going offline. The router restarts randomly many times in a day. And some of my smart devices keep dropping off. Very disappointed. I see a lot of good reviews, but wonder if others are having the same problems later on vs when they write a review which is soon after buying the product. For the high price, I have to say I am quite disappointed.

    Overall, not worth the money

    Recommended as opposed to a range extender by a sales associate. Easy setup, but the coverage was horrible. Ended up returning for the range extender; problem alleviated.

    Dear, Linksys You really need to update your app. It is borderline horrendous: slow; often "reboots"; takes a while to find my devices, resets parental settings, etc. Please fix the app.

    Loose DC jack issue causing restarts

    Worked fine once set up, but I discovered that two of the three nodes had loose DC jacks, so the nodes kept turning on and off randomly. Had to return.

    First of all I have used many different wireless routers over the years. Wireless routers have come a long way. The technology just keeps getting better and better. If you are looking for a great wireless network that is easy to install, this is it. I only have a 20 MB connection, so I need to get all I can from my modem. This modem allows me to get everything I'm paying for. Using this system I have 3 routers stationed throughout my house. At the furthest point my ping is slightly slower, but I still get close to full speed. I do have full strength on all devices everywhere in my house. If you are looking for something easy to set up, this is it. I downloaded the Linksys app to my iPhone and did the set up using my iPhone. The process is step by step with diagrams. It couldn't be easier. All three units are the same, so it doesn't matter which one you start with.

    PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT FROM BEST BUY - I'm trying to write a honest review without bias as this purchase has been the worst experience I've ever had with a product. It is not possible to return this product if you purchase it from Best Buy whether or not it is defective or if you're just unsatisfied with the product. The product continuously disconnects from the internet and meters my speed even while hard wired into the parent node. I've spent over 14 hours on the phone with tech support and when I asked for a refund from best buy they said I only had 14 days to return but you typically spend the first 14 days on the phone with tech support doing HOURS of troubleshooting. Linksys does not provide returns unless you purchase it from them. After 14 hours of troubleshooting they said "if you're still experiencing issues, we will send a replacement for 1 node but it has to be escalated to replace more than 1". TLDR: Don't purchase the product from Best Buy, you cannot return it to them. Product is very very bad, especially for gamers due to unstable connections even hard wired in.

    We bought this because we have bought expensive routers and the back of our house wasn't receiving good signal, For the price paid we are disappointed with this system the signal isn't any better...

    Disappointing mesh solution

    I was excited to buy these since the price went down with the advent of wifi 6. Set them up to expand signal to an area in the back of the house that had poor connection. One node was about 80' feet away and did not work. I moved it to where I could literally see the main node and it still kept losing signal. The app is near useless. Set up and syncing the nodes takes a very long time and it either works or it doesn't and good luck finding out why it doesn't. Spent hours on these and they are just not worth it.

    Did my due diligence, studied all of the mesh that where available and talked to the people in Best Buy before purchasing. I have to say, they look extremely nice compare to the others but functionality wise, not my cup of tea. Its not a range issue, that has been incredible, but lag and speed with constant disconnection of my devices. App could be MUCH better than what it is, there is not a lot of effort into it. I would truly recommend looking at others, this product is not made with much love, it was just made to bel if it works or not, I dont think they really care.

      There might be a lot of wireless traffic that is causing connection issues. Updating the firmware of the Velop system and using the channel finder could help fix the issue.

    Spectacularly underwhelming and unreliable

    To say that I was grossly underwhelmed and unimpressed with this mesh WiFi system would be an understatement. It is an exceedingly unreliable package that has poor throughput on the repeaters, going from 330 Mbps to like 35-40 on the next closest element one floor up, and disconnects from the modem regularly. The remote units are also routinely disconnecting from the base.
