Tremendous! But...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Velop has performed beautifully. It is wonderful to have one SSID through the house with tremendous speeds. The only challenge was setup...not because it was a difficult process, but the firmware of all three towers had to be updated. This was tremendously frustrating. Downloading and using the app was easy. The challenging part was the systems would not install. I tried the standard turning of and on the various components a number of times. No luck. I eve tried the Linksys customer support. No help. I looked online for insights. Again, no luck. I was ready to give up and just return the system for a refund when I found that there is a specific Velop customer support team. Voila! The customer support person worked with me through the firmware upgrade which took over an hour for the three towers. Then, the very friendly installation app did the rest. I have since been very pleased for the purchase.

Finally, peace at home
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wi-fi modem/router that the internet company provided us was not adequate for gaming, specifically, gaming through Xbox and laptop. We constantly had issues with connecting, staying connected and slowness. I researched products which would be compatible with my current modem/router. My research resulted in the purchase of the Linksys Velop Tri-band AC4400 Whole Home WiFi System. All the issues we were encountering were suddenly resolved. The internet no longer lags if all three household members linked to the internet with their phones, laptops, and other wifi connected equipment like Netflix and smart TV's. The set-up was very, very easy and quick. We took more time deciding on what to call our wifi network and password then it took to setup the system. I am no longer encountering daily complaints from my family about the poor wifi reception and just having peace in the house is worth everything!

Velop 3 whole House WiFi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The VELOP WiFi system I purchased at BestBuy works quite well, high speed seamlessly across all my devices anywhere throughout my home. It is also unobtrusive, I forget that it is there except for the little blue light! I am glad that I have it.

Outstandingly easy installation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Linksys after thorougly reviewing most of the major brands, including Google, and three or four other brands. I have used Linksys in the past and had good experiences. What convinced me what the 2,000 sq foot coverage for each node. I was able to buy ONLY two nodes for my full home coverage. I had one dead spot in my living room; and was using a wifi repeater, which was not ideal. Using the VELOP Linksys I can cover my full house using two nodes. The wifi speed is actually vastly better than when I was using the repeater. I have been using for about 4 days now and it works terrific. The setup was almost effortless. I downloaded the app to my Android phone and it was simple. Almost too simple I wondered if I was missing something; but it really was simple. No problems. They look nice. I have one NODE in my office and the 2nd node in my kitchen on top of the refrigerator.

Will Cover 6,000 SQ FT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a whole home WiFi system that will reach past my garage and back patio without keep buying more nodes. The 3-pack will cover up to 6,000 SQ FT. Easy to set-up off phone. The mesh network even allow physical Ethernet plug in on each node. True tri-band.

When I upgraded my internet speed with my provider, I had something set wrong that wasn’t allowing full speed. Their customer service took care of it for me quickly. One call.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Velop mesh wifi is great. Quick to setup once the firmware was updated. The Linksys telephone tech support was very helpful and patient in helping me get my 3 node Velop system set up. Now we have one wifi login for the whole house and out on the patio.

Home Wifi Improved
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I Have struggled for the past 3-4 years getting Wifi that works throughout my mid-large size home. With the addition of so many devices connected from TVs, xBox, PS4, iPads, iPhones, etc.... my wifi was struggling at times and I was tired of hearing my wife and kids complain. I tired many different options and had looked at reviews on many others and had not found the right fit. After seeing and reviewing the Linksys Velop I was hopeful I had found the solution. I purchassed and have been using for 6 days now and have found a huge improvement on connectivity, and overall speed across the board. The test speeds have improved and the lag time is gone. Setup was pretty easy, however it did require installing and utilizing an App. Holding out hope this will continue since it has been less then a week. I would highly recommend based on initial results.

Pricey but worth it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The application makes set up really easy and fast.....my previous AC1750 router could barely provide Wi-Fi throughout my home....using a three unit package, I'm now getting excellent performance in all rooms and about 300' radius outside the home.

Solid, make sure your modem is configured properly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As many other reviewers mentioned, I had lots of connectivity issues with my Velop tri-bands but Linksys support helped me and it was actually a Settings issue with my Spectrum modem not bridging correctly. Once I made a quick change, I haven't had ANY issues with connectivity. I've not had any buffering issues no matter how many devices are connected or streaming. Solid product. The reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because the app isn't great. It can be buggy and I don't think the speed test through it is accurate. It always shows 3x-4x the speed vs. fast.com or speedtest.net (though the app claims to use speedtest.net).

Very good for what it is
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a good solution for what it is. Here are the good parts: 1. Only 1 node needs to be hardwired for all of them to work. However to note, if you want full bandwidth and faster/better handoff when roaming your coverage area you should attempt to have as many wires as possible. That said it works very well as a solution to expand wireless coverage that works much better than wireless extenders. 2. Setup is meant to be dead simple. You use the app on your phone or tablet for initial setup and maintaining the system. You can add this to an existing router, or the first node when being setup can be configured as your router. 3. There are 2 wired ports on each node. If you are hard wiring nodes this will occupy one of the ports, so keep that in mind. However there is nothing stopping you from putting a switch on the other port and wiring several network devices to it. 4. They look good and are not large or intrusive. 5. You are able to add many nodes to the system, just buy more. I however don't know what the limit is, I have 5 and I could add more to my knowledge. Here are the frustrating parts: 1. Setup sometimes is pretty bumpy through the app. Recognizing nodes sometimes takes a few tries, and if you are trying to setup each one in the place you hope to place them, you may have to retry the setup for additional nodes within a couple feet of the first one to get them to detect and speak to each other, then move it to the location you prefer it to be. 2. It is frequently not good at penetrating some walls/areas. I have 2 areas in my house, one is my garage and I have placed a node in there which is 20-25 feet from the primary node and through 1 wall. They cant reach each other even if I move one of the nodes with 10-15 feet of the other through 1 wall. I have another upstairs, directly above the main node in my office, and it cannot be reach either. I placed an additional node in my master bedroom, 25 feet down the hall with no obstructions from doorway to doorway, and the office node placed just inside the doorway but still behind the wall by 2 feet and they cannot connect to each other. 3. The double NAT will not work for many situations. I have a VPN router that I use connected to my cable internet so it functions as my router and DHCP server. Velop then has it's own DHCP for anything connected to it. I have a TiVO box that records shows and used for live TV. I have a TiVO mini which connects wirelessly to my network (now through Velop). The TiVO mini connects to the main TiVO over the network and streams live TV or recorded TV from the main box. However with Velop they cannot see eachother over the network, and since Velop is a "user friendly" solution, you do not have access to any way of manually NATting, port forwarding, etc. which means it breaks my ability to use my TiVO. 3. You cannot tune the configuration through any "supported" method. If you want to make changes, like using your main router as the DHCP server for both networks, bridging both networks (to solve solutions like my TiVO issue), or other configuration, you have to jump through hoops and click a hidden link in the browser redirect for the Velop system to get access to these features. And they don't work well at all. I have configured mine for bridge mode and there is wireless instability even though 3 of the 5 of my nodes have a hard wired connection. The lights are a bright red or are flashing red constantly which light up the room and I have had to put tape over them to not be bright and distracting especially when watching a movie in the dark etc. I feel that the handoff per node in this configuration is clunky and doesn't happen sometimes. I could be right next to the main wired node and have only a couple bars of network because it has not handed off from the node I was at from the other side of the house. Linksys has stated that they are improving the firmware, and could be adding better networking support at some point in the future. Which would be good if they follow through with that. However this is a very good product if you plan it to be your only solution for all your networking needs, and have no need to make any configuration changes now, or in the foreseeable future since they handicap the app by design. If you are looking for a simple wireless solution that expands your network coverage this is the best on the market, and with a few caveats(having all nodes hardwired) you can have a full bandwidth solution in your whole coverage area. As well as something relatively simple to setup then this is a great investment. If you have the need to make any config changes or need to customize your network for different solutions you may need, your mileage may very. Until Linksys removes the handicaps you will have an uphill battle on your hands, and you may have luck or not, inconsistency or not. It's a wait and see for those folks on it being a good tailor-able solution at a larger investment than other means.

Worked exactly as advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this package to replace 2 routers bridged together that gave 4 signals to juggle. I was looking for something that managed all of the technical aspects of networking without having to remember to switch signals depending on where I was in the house and this delivered! Setup was easy, just downloaded the app and walked through the steps. Very easy and all set up within 10 minutes of taking it out of the box. The only hiccup was I had to unplug the modem for 10 seconds to get IPv6 working. Keep in mind, the app is quite barebones regarding the more technical options for the router. I'm not sure if that will change over time but as of writing this, things like port forwarding and confining the DNS server is nonexistent. If you're looking for a powerful mesh setup with few frills (and advanced options) this is the system to get!
