Customers are impressed with the Velop AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System's ease of use, coverage, and setup, frequently citing its simple installation and strong signal. Many also praise the system's range and performance, reporting consistently reliable connectivity. However, some users experienced connection issues and noted the relatively high price. A limited number of Ethernet ports was also a recurring point of feedback.

      Hi, Johns,

You can try to use the channel finder on the Linksys app to optimize the nodes as they should have a stable connection after the setup. Should you need assistance, feel free to share more details at LinksysCares@linksys.com with the link to this review for our reference and, we'll have our Escalation Engineers investigate the Velop devices.

I have FIOS coming into my house, set at one of the highest speed I also set-up a roaming network with 2 base stations and several extenders. We get 5 bars anywhere inside my house, and often well outside My network was handled by another fast brand, and we could stream movies (NetFlixs) onto multiple devices usually without delay. There were times when buffering would take place, especially onto the mobile devices (phones & tablets) Reading the tech specs on this, I decided to step up and simplify. The set-up was just as easy as they say, and whew, did we notice a difference The same 5 bars are there, but speeds on all devices increased immeasurably. No more buffering on mobile devices, and downloads are almost instantaneous. Everything that they are saying about this is true Could not be happier with what my network has become

I have been using the Linksys Velop system for almost a year. Considering the time of purchase, I had a few complications with the initial setup due to the Linksys smartphone application. Since then, Linksys has provided several updates to the application and resolved many of the issues I was having. This system is by far the best routing system I have used to date. I am currently running three units off of another Linksys router using "Bridge Mode". Since upgrading, my entire house is capable of delivering the FULL bandwidth of my chosen internet service provider's plan (30mbps). I have absolutely no dead spots or fluctuations in speed. Mesh routing is definitely the way to go and I highly recommend mesh systems to anyone who has a larger home or who wants full utilization of the speed in which they pay for.

The Velop system is designed to provide a fast and reliable internet connection. Check if you get a stable connection directly from the modem. I purchased the tri-band Velop system. Set up was extraordinarily easy, which is s huge compliment considering I used to have trouble programming my VCR. My home is 4,400 sqft and the coverage is amazing. I have two of the routers downstairs and one upstairs. I currently have 14 devices on the network (laptops/phones/iPads/Apple TV, printers, window covering, thermostats, etc). Prior to Velop, I could not get more than 100 Mbps on any device even though I have 1 gig coming into the house. Now I am hitting 700 Mbps. Extremely satisfied.

I have this installed in my parents house because the WiFi that is built in to their modem/router is, well, garbage. They live in a 1600 sq. ft. ranch with a fairly open layout. However, even with the router centralized in the house, the WiFi speeds degraded immensely at the corners of the house, and using it on the patio or at the fire pit in the back yard was clearly too much to ask for. By placing these nodes throughout the house, the speeds have increased...a lot! We are now able to use all of our devices throughout the house, in the backyard, and in the basement, which works well for when my toddler wants to FaceTime his nana and she is in the basement "crafting". I like that the nodes are slim, modern-looking, and effectively blend away on a side table. Linksys has once again, crafted another superb product.

      Hi, alex,

If the slow internet speed is only happening to the wireless network of your Linksys WHW0303B, then you may try running its channel finder feature. You may also try power cycling your whole Velop system and observe how it goes. Send us an email then at LinksysCares@linksys.com so we can have this checked with our Escalation Engineers. I replaced an older AC1900 router that had many dead spots throughout our apartment. Although it did take more than the five minutes to set up that the box claims, after the Velop system was set up it worked phenomenally! Most of the dead spots in our apartment are gone and the speeds have increased throughout the network itself! I would definitely recommend this for larger homes (not necessarily a 1000 SqFt apartment like mine) as the separate nodes will allow you to dedicate a portion of the network to a certain dead spot area and even hard wire certain devices that are further away from where your router/modem originally were! I do wish this system could be set up and configured from a computer versus just the mobile app from a smartphone but setup was still very easy and straight forward!

    Simple Setup and Great Performance

Linksys Velop contains three nodes, three power supplies, a Ethernet cable, a sticker and a very simple startup guide. Nodes are white, square about 7x3x3 with a single LED indicator light on top.Two sides are solid, top is vented along with the two other sides. Two Ethernet ports, a power port, a reset button and power switch on the bottom. Cable management is a small cutout on the bottom corner that allows everything to sit flat. No USB ports on any of the nodes. Tri band WiFi, AC2200, MuMiMo with a dedicated backhaul channel that most mesh systems lack. Setup is done through the Linksys Smart WiFi app, either iOS or Android. Just download the app, setup a Linksys account if you don't have one and the app guides you through the initial setup on the main node attached to your modem. Takes about ten minutes or so to setup the main node, pick a SSID and a password and another ten minutes or so to add the additional two nodes to the system. The app will tell you if you need to move the mesh nodes closer or not but it wasn't an issue and everything setup perfectly. You can add a Guest Network easily later. Any changes are done through the app and you can monitor your system remotely from anywhere. I've had a chance to use a few WiFi mesh systems and so far the Velop has outperformed all of them and some by a significant margin with way faster speed and range than anything I've used in the past. I can include a system that looks like a couple of air fresheners and a 3 unit system that looks like hockey pucks from a large tech company that begins with a G. I usually have 15-20 devices hooked up at a time including TV's, Roku boxes, tablets, wireless security cameras, phones, you name it and the Velop has handled everything without a buffer or hitch. Easily covers 3000 sq. ft. 2 story house with no dead spots and strong signal all over. Also Velop does a great job of seamless handoff, you can walk all over your house on a phone call or streaming something and the stream or call is solid everywhere, no buffering or stutters. A couple of things to note. Since each node has only two Ethernet ports if you have a number of wired devices you use you can buy a plug n play gigabit Ethernet switch to fix that. The Linksys app doesn't provide a bunch of router settings to change things around the way you want, so if you're a power user who likes to fiddle with your network you'll be disappointed on what it provides. Also the Velop only sends a single SSID, no single networks. The Linksys app is a bit buggy and lacks features but I'm pretty sure they'll fix that shortly with a few updates. While the Linksys Velop is priced a bit higher than some other mesh systems available it's much faster performance and range compared to the others justifies spending a few dollars more. Latest WiFi tech installed makes this a state of the art mesh system that performs like you expect it to. If you're looking for a dead simple to setup and maintain mesh system with unparalleled speed and range then the Linksys Velop system should top your list.

This wireless system is fantastic for a large or awkwardly situated home. I am getting consistently greater than 170 mb per second throughout the entire home. My home is T shaped with the office upstairs. I could never get a good signal with a wireless router since the office has so many walls between it and the rest of the house. This mesh system has solved all of those issues and seamlessly allows me to move through the house while streaming HD. Very easy to setup and the application is extremely user friendly.
