Customers are impressed with the Velop AC2200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 System's ease of use, coverage, and setup, frequently citing its simple installation and strong signal. Many also praise the system's range and performance, reporting consistently reliable connectivity. However, some users experienced connection issues and noted the relatively high price. Hardware looks very clean. Setup is buggy though this was the first formal day of release. Performance is quite good for 1, 2 and 3 node setups. I used cable run back to main units but seems to also work with wireless back hall. Price is higher than it should be given they are still working the bugs out but it would be difficult to also raise prices later.

These WiFi extenders work great! they are easy to set up, have great support online and over the phoned. They work even when unplugged and moved! I have a three story large home and four "children" and one "parent" tower and LOVE THEM!

Its really great perfect for two story houses, and large families!. Also it reaches all the way to my patio, usually outdoors the wifi signal vanished. But now with the velop i installed the second Pod close to entrance to my patio and i have the same strengh signal as inside my house!! Awsome product, something i was looking foward to get, and now i have it.

    Great! but ...

I really want to love this Wifi system and rate it 5 stars but there two issues for me. I will discuss the good before the negatives. Wifi coverage in my 3000 sq ft home is great and fast. All my devices work great about 24. That's it. The issues. First, it disconnects for about 2-3 mins every four hours or more. At $500, I expect a lot more. I turned it off, reconnected, tried connecting ethernet cables same result. Second, the App is completely useless. It shows devices connected through wifi as being connected through ethernet. It shows weak or no signal for some devices placed within a few meters from the node. The wifi speed test has never worked. It always gives an error message. I have uninstalled and updated the app twice but same results. I am sure firmware updates and app updates may eventually fix these issues. I am just prepared to be pay $500 and wait but I will still recommend it. In view of these, I will return the Velop and try out the Netgear Orbi.

Read other reviews on how good it was but was still skeptical of spending that much on home WiFi. I'm glad I did. The signal strength is excellent. Setup was simple, other than I'm using a special setup and had to call Velop support. Support was extremely helpful and it has been a smooth transition since. Don't hesitate and spend the money and get something that is excellent!

    Superior Technology over WIFI extenders

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Wire Mesh network is vastly superior to wifi extenders. It is expensive but it works very well. We have eliminated speed issues throughout a 6K square foot home. It nicely provides adequate speed outside the house in near proximity. The downside is the app is limited and there needs to be better tutorials for average person to set up. For instance, save yourself a troubleshooting call with support by using a new unique name and password for your system. This was not clear in any instructions. Also, there was little to no information on whether to leverage bridge mode. I'm not high tech and needed to do some research to understand it would benefit me. There should be tutorial videos on You Tube to address these kinds of issues. Also, not clear whether Channel Finder is automatic or whether it must be triggered by user in the app. We get quirky speeds sometimes and I have to invoke channel finder to optimize the speed. This should be automatic for this price tag. Lastly, competitors seem to have a sleeker, nicer design. I believe that Linksys solution is slightly superior in technology but less than competition in design of the box. Still all in all, it solves the access and speed problems.

If you would of asked me last night I would of given the Velop one star. Most reviews and even the four part instructions make this appear to be the easiest install ever. After 20 minutes of not connecting I decided to call customer service. She spent almost 90 minutes with me on the phone. Apparently you need to go into Velop in your WiFi settings. The app was not telling me this. But to make a long story short their customer service-at least for me- was stellar. I upgraded to this router for one reason- Sonos. I have 13 Sonos speakers and subs around my house that my airport router was no longer able to handle. First off let me say I blame Sonos for going to Airplay vs the music on this iPad. I never had problems with the latter. And if anyone at Sonos reads this please make your products backwards compatible. The Velop Tri-band made my speakers sound as clear as the day I bought them. Perfect 3 band signal everywhere in my house of about 2300 ft. I have about 35 devices connected to my router with zero problems. If things change I will update this review, but Linksys your customer service won four extra stars.

This product has a very easy setup, using a smart phone app. No technical information to ponder over. It just works. I dont have to mess with it at all. Saw immediate performance increase over my verizon issued fios gateway. A little more expensive then similar products, but nothing can compare when you have several streaming devices all being used at once around your home.

Perfect Solutions To Our Wifi Problems

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This solved all of our WIFI dead spots and was easy to setup. It also offers Ethernet backhaul, meaning you have the option of plugging in each device to Ethernet so the Velop devices can communicate with each other over a wired connection. This is particularly helpful if you need to space each device further away from the others. The Orbi does not have this feature.

    Really fast system

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

It was a bit of a bear to set up, requiring repeated attempts, but once it was programmed, it is amazingly fast. I've used commercial grade WiFi Access Points in the last few years, but having a difficulty with a large named vendor blocking normal websites without a reason (sites were white listed too...hmmm) caused me to find another solution. I've been keeping up with the latest in Home mesh trends from the various vendors, and heard that this system would be amazing. I should say I have 33 nearby neighbors in my condo complex that I'm competing for spectrum with...so a mesh was a requirement. I was VERY satisfied, once the initial programming was completed, and the whole system created a mesh. I was able to toss out several PowerLine AC adapters that I was using to link several rooms together due to the extra ethernet ports on the Velop devices! Less complexity and now I went from 40-80 Mbps from each room in the house via PowerLine (even though it is a 1 Gbps set of devices) to now 800+ Mbps via wireless! My internet is only 200+ Mbps, but man, what a speed improvement! I'm very happy.....I would have been happier if the system was $100 cheaper, but hey...it's fast!

I bought this item to replace my apple time capsule and apple airport expresses which simply wasn't cutting it. My wifi was horrible and poor at best. Now I'm getting max speeds in many places throughout my house (3000 square feet) including my basement. I set a node up in my home office on the main floor, kitchen on the main floor and my basement. I pay for 150 mbp through comcast get at least half that in my "dead spots" around my house. Excellent product and customer service is easy to work with if you're having any problems.

Though there are steps to follow - in appropriate order - once done, these three units gave superior cover thought the house. After months of trouble free service, a connection problem appeared but I'm sure it was because of my local ISP. The Linksys support agents stayed on the line unitl we had the problem resolved.

Completely overhauled my internet experience. I had the apple AirPort Extreme with 2 extenders... I was pulling my hair out. I paid for 150Mbs through my internet provider and I was only getting like 10-50 Mbs. Now I get 150 at my back fence and I'm on an acre! Great system!!! Much better than paying to have someone come put in wired WAP throughout my house

Been using Velop for a week now and this thing rocks. Finally get full speed connection in every part of my house and then some. It's been to cold outside to see how far back I could go before a lose a bar. But I did notice in the car I didn't lose connection until 3 houses down. Quick easy set up. Just pray for no one to text your or call while installing this.

The best home wifi I've ever installed

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Velop is the best home wifi I have ever set up. I actually didn't plan to change my home setup, but while visiting my sister and hearing the problems she was having I suggested she let me put in an updated router and perhaps a network extender (she lives in a 4500 sq. ft.home). Once at the store I began looking closely at the Velop and decided to go that direction. Back at my sisters I unpacked and had everything setup and configured within a half hour, and though I have a lot of experience it really doesn't matter. The setup utilized an app that walks you through every step. I'm confident that the most inexperienced user will have no difficulty. I loved it so much that I decided to put it in my own house once home and the difference was even more profound. Though I had a top of the line Netgear router, I had falling signal at various locations in the house. Once installed I measured download and upload speeds from every corner of the house and found to my amazement no matter where I was I pegged the rated cable service speed of 65 mb at every corner and floor of the house. The result is that every device and computer responds instantly, no matter where you are. And the days of a movie buffering to the visual of a spinning ball are over!

I upgraded my system from an Apple Airport extreme and 2 Apple airport express is. After having several crashes I became frustrated with the extended network system. Since upgrading, I have consistent signal throughout the house, and speeds are incredible. In places where there used to be blackouts, there are none. I am very happy with my purchase so far.

The Linksys Velop is a wonderful product. Our house is a ranch style home with the internet setup on the far end of the home. The wifi could not reach the other end of the house. The Velop has fixed the distance range of the wifi. It is extremely easy to set up and works extremely well. I definitely recommend the Velop if you are having similar issues.
