I was coming from a linksys ac5400 router. The router was incredible but I noticed that around the farther corners of my home I was getting about half of what I was paying for in terms of internet speeds. So I decided to try this out and it did not disappoint I am now getting much closer to was I am paying in every corner of my house. I'm paying for 100mbps download speeds and depending how far away from the router I was I would get rough 45 to 50 at any given point in my house. I'm now getting a minimum of 85 every where in my house. Definitely worth the money in my opinion!

Great Performance, setup could be simpler

I used 2 of these kits (6 total nodes) to completely blanket a large office building with very large workshop in Wifi (almost 20,000 sq ft, 2 floors total space).... I had to reset nodes a couple times in order for them to setup correctly. I'm in I.T. so the setup wasn't difficult for me, but I could see it being a little frustrating for someone who isn't very I.T. savvy. After setup, the performance is exactly what I hoped for. If the setup were a little more seamless and the price were a little lower, I would've given it 5 stars.

I get excelant coverage in my house now. I used to get 50mb (I pay for 200mb) at the corner of the house, I now get 190mb. It has been a great improvement.

    Great mesh network

First, quick intro - I'm in tech and have years of experience working with large server systems...so lots of experience working with networking. Sure, a home mesh network is not the same - it's a lot easier. I had the 3 routers fully up and running in less than 30 minutes. And that includes the time to open the packaging and get all the wrapper stuff removed from the devices. Highly recommend this product. BTW - I liked the simplicity of the router physical design over the Orbi, my other original option.

    Meh...

OK, I've had these for more than a year, and they work OK, but just had one of my nodes crap out. Ethernet ports apparently quit. Child Node was hooked by Ethernet to parent and worked fine till now. Child can still work without wired connection, but .. still .. Hardware failure. Also, I've always been frustrated with Linksys' web interface and Ios app. These newer Velops have the same crappy web interface that I have on a WRT from 10 years ago. It is very clunky, and does not reflect current devices well at all. It will show devices online, that I know are off, and also will not show devices that are definitely online. The Ios app and web interfaces never match or agree with each other. Plus I hate that anytime you make the smallest edit or change to anything the entire system needs to reboot, taking everything down for 2-3 minutes. Still using these for now, but next time I need a new router, I will not buy a Linksys.

    My best ever wifi router

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've had multiple wifi routers over the years, but this by far provides the best coverage. Relatively straight-forward setup. But seriously, the coverage is the best part. The cable-modem is on the opposite side of the house from my office and my concern was having enough of a signal to be able to actually get work done (I work from home and spend a lot of time using GoToMeeting and other screen sharing programs, use VoIP). With the Velops placed throughout the house I'm getting upwards of 140 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up in my office on wifi. Amazing!!

Had it up and running in about 30 minutes. Covers my 2300 sq ft home, outside patio, porch and about 35' beyond in all directions. Home has standard sheetrock & stud walls w/9' ceilings. Router and first Velop in attic at one end of house. Other Velop sitting on fireplace mantle about 40' from first unit. My house has foamed insulation so my attic is same temperature as living area. Speed tests show download 29Mbps and upload 5.0 Mbps, at farthest point in house. Paying for 24 mbps from provider.

This blows away the Netgear Orbi

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

After some initial setup frustration, I am ecstatic with this purchase. I first tried the netgear orbi system but iOS devices kept having issues maintaining internet connectivity even though showing full wifi strength. After reading of other people having similar issues I returned the orbi and swapped for the Linksys Velop. Velop has been performing flawlessly. To be fair there were some setup issues: the first device went smoothly, but 2nd and third devices kept instructing me to move them closer to the first unit. After finally moving them 5 feet from the first unit. They still would not connect to each other. Finally called customer support after 3 hours with no luck. It took a while to get through, but the tech was quick to Identify that the firmware was not automatically getting the latest update. They walked me through manually updating firmware and everything was perfect afterwards. Moving the devices to their final desired locations - the performance is 10 times better than the orbi. The iOS app used to to setup and configure should be made a little faster. When configuring and communicating with devices, it can be frustratingly slow. In light of my issues I still highly recommend and am telling friends about the wonders of the Velop system.

I have a two-story home with 4000 sq feet and getting consistent internet to the master bedroom, the ring doorbell, or the car in the garage was a nightmare. I initially had an airport time capsule with an airport extremity as an extender. I first tried the Netgear Orbi, and the eero after that, and even though they were both very easy to set up and use, they were not enough for my home size and or distribution. Velop has done the trick, it is easy to set up, use and manage, and I now have reliable internet in every corner of my house.
