super easy for novice to set up

It was very easy to set up right from the box. I love that I can control the wifi access remotely, such as if I'm at work and want to block one of the kids' access for a time, or shut it off at bedtime just for his device, when I'm already in bed - just use the app on my phone!

    Incredible hardware, horrible firmware.

The WRT3200ACM is an excellent piece of hardware. The aesthetics of the unit are wonderful, the front panel has clear visibility for important connection information without being blindingly bright, and the back layout is comfortable, though tight. Ventilation is good and the antennae seem to be of good gain and construction, easily saturating my dwelling. The inclusion of USB3.0 as well as eSATA/USB2.0 along with gigabit ports for the switch is really quite nice. Wired up, this is one excellent router, and accommodates my backup drive and printer nicely (when not using the OEM Linksys firmware). Wireless, this router is just about worthless. There are numerous reports of breaking issues with Marvell's chipset that Linksys have been using in much of their WRT line which cause WiFi connectivity issues within a short period of uptime on one or both bands. I've managed to get 3 days between reboots by disabling the 5GHz band entirely and just using the 2.4GHz band. No, this issue is not resolved by the most recent Linksys OEM firmware, nor does OpenWRT/LEDE or DD-WRT resolve it. The issue lies within the binary driver distributed by Marvell for this chipset, and as of January 2017, it is currently not resolved. Interestingly enough, the Linux Kernel v4.x branch being used by OpenWRT/LEDE does improve the throughput of the router, so that is promising. Furthermore, the OEM Linksys firmware is just about garbage. The NAS functionality is pretty well broken when using File History with Windows 10, as permissions/ACLs are not properly being obeyed. You can write new data to the drive most of the time, but you can't delete/remove data, so cleanups don't work. This all works fine under DD-WRT. Linksys have also somehow made printer sharing MORE difficult than it is using Windows by requiring the installation and running of a utility on the machine that has the printer on it. When this utility even detected the printer, it was fine, but it is an extra step and layer of complexity which doesn't resolve the fundamental problem of Windows printer sharing: the host machine has to be powered on. Conversely, DD-WRT allows the hosting of the printer just fine from the router, giving me 100% availability for the printer on my home network. Unfortunately, my model is not supported by SANE so I have no scan support. If you need reliable wireless, skip the WRT line until Marvell gets their driver sorted out and Linksys pushes it to the OEM firmware. If you want to actually use the NAS or printer sharing functionality, ditch the garbage stock firmware and go DD-WRT or OpenWRT/LEDE. The features simply do not work fully under the OEM firmware. If you're primarily wired, this is a fine unit though you're overspending for capabilities that don't work as advertised. If you don't want an additional unpaid part-time job managing your home network equipment, look outside of Linksys unless you're going for the venerable WRT54G.

With this router positioned upstairs in my townhouse, I get a great 5ghz signal downstairs for streaming on my TV. And its 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands yield two distinct named networks that allow me to dedicate the 5ghz band to my TV and the 2.4ghz to other things.

This device has been performing very well. I am using this in a house with 2400sqft and all rooms I get the highest coverage. It is not my first time using linksys router. My previous router was wonderful as well. I can say it was the main reason to get a new one with new features.

Excellent router. Great upgrade from my old Linksys, which started having connection issues with new smart TV. Haven't tested it across the yard because of winter, but signal tests seem to be perfect everywhere else across the house after a few weeks of use.

I live in a 2000 sq ft tri- level townhouse. I had a regular router and had to use in line extender to get service in our room. Once I upgraded to the WRT -3200 it was night and day. I'm getting faster connection now and don't use extenders anymore.

So far, this has been the best wireless router I've ever owned. It was very east to set up and the graphical interface is outstanding. With this router installed in a centrally located room, it was able to reach every floor of my home without issue.

It's not my favorite looking router, but it's a nod to their classic routers... So I get it. Lynksis has always done right by me, and this router is no different. It works great and doesn't skip a beat no matter what I throw at it.

Excellent router for the money. I bought 2 of them and love them. Easy to use and setup. The one disadvantage of the device is that there isn't a central location to block web address. You have to select each device on the network and block it individually.

I had to return the first unit I purchased as was having an issue with WiFi forcing a router reboot every 12 hours or so. Did an online chat with Linksys tech and determined had faulty unit. Best Buy easily exchanged and have been pleased with replacement unit.

    Great Router and Reliable

I was searching for a router that could fulfill my expectations and maintain a great wireless performance throughout my whole house. It was then that I received this device from Linksys, at no cost in exchange for an honest review. I decided to put the router to the test and connected the WRT AC3200. My home has over 25 devices connected in a 3800sqft house, some of the devices having a high demand like my UHD 4K TV, 4 Laptops, Xbox 1S all of which streaming simultaneously. After connecting the router, I awaited the results. I expected to see the router drop devices or have lags on any of them. To my surprise, it ran uninterrupted for 4 hours straight with great connectivity. Overall, it is a great product and I would recommend it. Thanks Linksys for allowing me the experience to try it.

Avoid this router - Very unstable

Full disclosure, I received this product from Linksys for testing. I love Linksys products. Until now, I have never had a problem. The first router that was shipped to me failed to successfully load the updated firmware during the automated setup. I completed the setup, manually updated the firmware, and everything seemed fine. Until I tried to log into the router again, and I couldn't. Then the wi-fi died. Then, even though it had a solid white Internet light, the Internet connection died. After 3 calls to customer service, they finally agreed to replace the router. When I got the new router it successfully completed the automatic setup, and everything seemed just fine. Until I couldn't log into the router. Then the wi-fi died. Then, even though it had a solid white Internet lilght, the Internet connection died. I called customer service, and they tried the same things they tried with the last router, re-install the updated firmware and reboot the router. After that everything worked fine, but you know the ending. Same thing after a while, couldn't log in, no wi-fi, then no Internet. That is when I went back to my trusty WRT1900 ACS. I've had that for 2 years, and never had a single problem. I'm going to hold on to the 3200. Maybe one day they will design firmware that works for everyone. I've very disappointed with Linksys. This product has been available for over a year now and they haven't come close to fixing the problem. From previous reviews I've read about this product (mostly from Amazon), it seems that some of them work perfectly, while others have the exact same problems that I had. If you like to gamble, order this product. If you need a nice stable router, consider the 1900 ACS.

I replaced an older WiFi router with this new model. I was easily able to install the new router and configure it with my existing credentials and network name. All of my devices connected seamlessly with no additional setup needed.

I replaced netgear nighthawk 1900 with this linksys 3200 it works a lot better than netgear, that only lasted just over a year. I get signal strength of 100 on every device in my house with linksys 3200.

Set up was easy. Wish it offered better advanced settings. My biggest complaint is siginal strength. My old TPLink AC 170 archer has the same range. For this price Linksys should have included the high gain antennas. Otherwish it works great.

I never right reviews but had to on this router. I'm a photographer by trade and need my internet to be the fastest it can possibly be. The router I had was a router modem combo that I needed for my Xfinity and it was extremely slow. I did some research and found this router and decided to buy it. The router has 2.5 megahertz and 5 megahertz. This router is amazing it increase my speed significantly. I get a hundred megabytes download speed from Xfinity and with this writer and a Speedtest on getting 110 - 120 megabyte download speeds with four devices connected to it. This router was a gift from my sister and it's the best thing he's ever got me. If you're looking for faster speeds with multiple devices connected to it this is definitely the router you want to get.

This router has very good range, but unfortunately, my home is brutal on wifi.. I get a significant drop in bandwidth on the 2.4ghz spectrum. Unfortunately, I was not able to eliminate all of my extenders, but I'm down to only one now!

      Hi, StephenB,

Interference in your area is one of the common factors that could affect the router's wireless performance. We can try setting a fixed channel on the 2.4 GHz network. Please get in touch with us at [email protected] so we can have one of our Escalation Engineers guide you through the process. Indicate your contact information and the link to this review for our reference.

I have a concrete house. Built like a bomb shelter. I previously used an AC1900 router but couldn't even get a signal in the basement. I bought this little gym and now I enjoy even and fast wifi throughout the house.
