This is everything I've ever needed in a router. Between the wireless speed, VPN ability, WPS push button from the app, and the option to use DD WRT as firmware. This covers everything you need from a novice user up to advanced.

As probably most families with children, smart TV's and all the tech gadgets in this day and time I was suffering from lag times when everyone was trying to use the internet at the same time. The LykSys solved the problem for us.

This router is an excellent choice for you media & streaming-heavy household. With two separate networks, one at 2.4 GHz and one at 5.0 GHz and excellent device controls, this device is worth the extra you will pay for it.

    Good data flow, zoned router

Provides in-house networking capability with both wifi and hard cabled connectivity. Data flow with either is good. Wifi can, apparently, be zoned to serve different systems without lateral connectivity or interference.

This product resolved the problem I was having with my old router. I was having difficulty viewing IP cameras internally at home (not trying to stream over the internet). There was significant lag with the old router.

This is an excellent wireless router for every device in my home. Distribution of the wireless network to devices is unmatched from any of my previous routers! Definetly a great choice for my household.

Failed after 11 months of use

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This router was rock solid for the first 110 months of use. Then, it started to drop connections and required rebooting once a day. Called Linksys, and after an hour they decided it was defective and shipped a replacement (which will have NO WARRANTY because the original unit only had 1 month left and that transferred to the replacement, which took a few weeks for them to ship). What is strange is that the WUSB6100M wi-fi adapter I purchased at the same time with this router has also failed at the same time. Stay away from Linksys products - they do not last beyond their warranty period.

I have been running into headache after headache since configuring this router. I work in IT and I am confident in my ability to set up a router such as this. Previously I was using a Belkin N600 DB Wireless Dual-Band N+ Router which worked like a champ until I decided to give this router a chance. The main reason I wanted to upgrade was to have the ability to use custom DNS and static IP reservations and up my wifi speeds, which the Belkin was having difficulty doing. Setup of the 3200 went fairly easy. Everything seemed to connect just fine. After a night, I woke up to my thermostat not connected to the 2.4 signal. I rebooted the router and reran the thermostat connection setup which lasted a couple of hours. This is a daily occurance. I am having to reboot this router two to three times a day because of dropped wireless on my XBox1, iPhones, my printer, thermostat, etc etc etc. I've put up with this for a while now and frankly my wife and I are getting tired of it. DNS addresses are also not being handed out. It continues to use the routers IP address as the DNS address. IPv6 continues to be used even though I have that setting disabled. The phone app is 50/50 when I go to use it. The actual range of wireless is very limited compared to my Belkin. I have reset the router to basically NIB status and reran my configuration only to be presented with the same headaches. I have found some settings in a forum that I will try and see if they help, but so far as of this review, I am returning this router. Settings I am going to try: 1. Enable Media Prioritization with Downstream Bandwidth set to 204800 2. Enable WMM Support (Default) 3. Wireless 5Ghz Protocol Mixed 4. Wireless 5Ghz Channel Width Auto or 80Mhz 5. Wireless 2.4 Protocol "b\g\n Only" 6. Wireless 2.4Ghz Channel Width Auto or 20Mhz 7. Both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz Wireless Security "WPA2 Personal" not mixed

This router easily provides Internet coverage throughout my entire two story 3,000 sq. ft. house. It was also very easy to set up using the supplied software. I highly recommend this router.

The router works as advertised. Plenty of options and the UI is solid. It is priced in the same range as similar devices from other manufacturers, however it is still a bit pricey for my taste.

    AC3200 2.4 GHz FAIL

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased an AC3200 a few weeks ago after looking at the Specs and reviews. It was easy to set up. Everything worked fine at first hooking up 14 Wi-Fi units. The 5 GHz frequency band never had many Mbps only several rooms away in our large home, no matter how I adjusted the antennas, so I just relied on the 2.4 GHz for distance. 13 days later, the 2.4 GHz band went out, so I took it back to the store, and exchanged it for another. Upon setting up the new replacement, the 5 GHz band worked, but the 2.4 GHz band would not light or transmit from the unit. I updated the firmware without any improvement. I unplugged, reset, and reflashed it back to its old firmware, and then the 2.4 GHz band worked! Well for about 30 minutes, then it went dead again. My plugged in my old router with 2.4/5 bands and it transmitted fine. I took the AC3200 unit back and exchanged it for an ASUS RT-AC3100, plugged it in, and it worked perfectly on both bands and streamed great. In fact, my signal strength and Mbps was double the Linksys unit at every distance and covered the house on both floors; at 80 feet away on the 5 GHz I got 59 Mbps (on a 64 Mbps connection!), while the Linksys could only achieve 15 Mbps at that site. No regrets looking back, internet speed, fastest ever. IMO the AC3200 is not ready for prime time.

      Hi, Tachsman,

A few adjustments on the router settings could've improved the wireless performance. We understand that you no longer have the device but if you need our assistance with your other Linksys devices, you can always reach us via [email protected].

Great experience overall with an easy to moderate difficulty on the setup. Speeds are unmatched, but the coverage was somewhat lacking on the 5ghz channel, but that would be my only complaint

    Power cord too short

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Setup was easy enough, but the power cord was just barely long enough to reach from my router to my power source. I really had to stretch things and move my power strip and the router in unwieldy ways to make it work. I was replacing a Netgear router whose power cord was longer and easily reached the power strip without without having to stretch things. Linksys needs to lengthen the power cord they provide -- a foot or two longer would be sufficient. I went back to by Netgear router.

We noticed an improvement with our internet service immediately when using this router. It's also really cool that I can use a guest wifi that has a temp password.
