I purchased this phone for my 91 year old mother. It is a good phone but not for my mother because it was too difficult for her to use. The sales person said, she should have no problems using it because it was simple to use. I had to switch it out to the Jitterbug now that one is very easy to use.

I got a phone plan through Great Call for my very elderly sister who wanted to get rid of her landline. She accidently dropped the original phone in water so I purchased a new phone. It's a great phone, easy to use and she loves it. It was simple to reactivate the new phone.

This was billed as a great phone for seniors and I was so excited to purchase it to help my mother-in-law. Unfortunately, we found that it lacks many features that would make it senior-friendly. The button for the ringer volume is on the side where your fingers hold the phone, so the person using it will easily lower the volume often without realizing she did. Sadly, she does this often. The phone was billed as "flip to answer," but did not work that way in reality and required her to hit "OK" each time she answered the phone (in addition to flipping it open). It took 6 months, hours of calls with the service desk and and multiple pushes of software for it to finally work that way.

I bought this as a replacement phone for my 101 year old father in Law who dropped his original Jitterbug in the toilet. The updated model has smaller numbers and smaller screen graphics and is utterly worthless for the Jitterbug target demographic . Shame on you Lively - take heed; if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it… Thankfully EBay had a used original Jitterbug that worked great.

Bought this for my MIL as she is 86 in good health, but wanted the ability to have a fast and easy contact method for an emergency. This worked out great for her as it is easy to use, has functions that can enhance her well being, and is not costly as a service. Would recommend to any senior in need of a good mobile and emergency contact device

I bought this phone for my 94 year old mother who has dementia. She always has used a flip phone, so I was happy to find this phone since she no longer can learn new things. It was super easy to set up and she quickly adapted to using it to make and receive phone calls. Monthly fee is very reasonable. I have nothing negative to say about this phone.

    Decent emergency phone for seniors

This is a decent no-frills emergency cell phone for seniors, but the GUI is terrible and there are too many steps to do simple tasks like clearing a missed call or opening the cameras. The large buttons are helpful, but a cheap Android or older iPhone would be easier for an elder to use daily.

Their website says they will refund service charges if lightly used. We returned under those conditions, but they keep recharging. My mom is hard of hearing and doesn't speak English, but they keep quizzing her on the phone and refusing to help. I will be calling back for the 3rd time after they rebill $62 for a month's service.

    Okay device, with complications

In some respects the phone is easy for a senior citizen to use (it has a good feel and the buttons are large), but there’s a couple challenges: for speed dial, #1 isn’t available ever, which is confusing; and while you can use voice commands to place calls, it’s a multi-step command process, which is too confusing for many users.
