    JITTERBUG

Needed a replacement phone for my mother in law. Had an exceptional sales associate, Justin, that helped us select a new phone and jumped through a lot of hoops to get our current carrier to transfer service to the new phone. She has been ecstatic about her new "smart" phone. A great fit that meets all her needs.

I must say I am totally impressed with the Jitterbug Smart2 phone. Not only does it perform well, but also has more features than my own smartphone. I love the sleek design, very nicely done. I would certainly recommend this phone and I received this one as a sample in exchange for my review.

    Not As Advertised And Non-Returnable

Purchased this phone for my mother for Christmas from Best Buy so she could text/message with grandchildren easily. I've been working with tech support at GreatCall since December to correct problems without success. The phone does not receive texts from iPhone users and takes half a day to receive a simple photo message. In addition, the swipe feature doesn't work well, the keys/numbers lag, and the battery life is poor. After giving up on correcting issues, I have been told by Best Buy that the phone is non-returnable after 15 days. So now we have a useless $150 phone. Beware that the last 3 reviews have been poor. Save your money and buy something that works.

Phone is useless for more than beginner

I was strongly disappointed in this phone as it can only handle a small amount of Apps, even with an added 16 Gig S/D card. It will stop an app for now reason and go to somewhere else, phone App is terrible. I will be trashing this phone and getting service elsewhere that actually works. Don't buy unless you want a VERY BASIC PHONE with no other apps than preinstalled.

Key Feature Not Working. Do Not Purchase

As of this date (1/9/2019), The visual voicemail feature of this phone does not work and the company is not providing any indication of when this problem will be resolved. As the Voicemail feature is one of the primary uses for this phone by seniors, I would strongly recommend against purchasing the Smart2 until GreatCall confirms that the issue has been resolved. The phone itself appears to be a very well designed phone but with this feature disabled it should not be available for public sale.

    Lively cell phone and support

I wanted a phone for my elderly parent. The flip seemed perfect. It’s important to know that I wanted to port our current number. Horrible customer service. You must call, can’t do it online, call, wait, the person gets you connected. Then you have to call another number for “customer service! What?? Again, call, wait, they get all your information, then tell you it takes 3 to 5 days for your number to port! Seriously? In 2022 when no matter who you go to for service it’s like 45 minutes to walk out with a new service and you existing number. Then the things they don’t tell you. All text messages are chargeable, including incoming!! Now you have to pay for all those spam text messages. After 5 days the service never transported like it was supposed to. More calls with the explantation, “ we don’t know what happened sometimes it just takes awhile”. If you have an issue and they resolve it you get charged 99 cents per issue. Questions are still free though. If they would actually explain this stuff up front they wouldn’t be able to sell 1 phone. No one would want to deal with a company whose customer service is like that. And they end up being more expensive to boot with no internet service! Don’t waste your time with this product.

Phone is too challenging for my father to set up . I even had a hard time and battery was to 50% when I started and was down to 10% by the time I gave up and that's was within an hour. SHAME on JOHN WALSH for ENDORSING THIS PHONE!

    Poor phone choice for seniors!

Biggest piece of junk I have ever seen. I suggested this product, based on marketing claims, to my parents as they are both in their 80's. I am an engineer and I had trouble showing them how to use the "smart 2" phone. It was extremely clunky and cumbersome to use. After a few weeks, my mom was ready to throw it off a bridge. I ended up getting them a regular android phone and they are much happier. Don't waste your money on a "smart 2".
