Definitely not better than gen 4

These just have a source switch from xbox to pc to ps and a odd pass through that over heats. Trying to hear something in these headsets when you got a fan going or ac on is terrible.

Too much money, no product support, known issues

It’s not, you have to purchase to high end hdmi cables. There is a known issue which prevents it from connecting properly. You will get sound but a black screen. Been talked about quite a bit in forums and there are no known fixes. Don’t contact product support, useless. Simply tried to warranty out an item that was purchased that day. Would not recommend.

Probably the worst headset I’ve had for PS5….

However, I only kept these for a few days until I returned them. The set up for my PS5 was an absolutely NIGHTMARE and so many wires it’s unbelievable. Sound quality isn’t really there due to lack of noise cancelation. But you can hear things very clearly.

Broken bass or just poor quality?

I love those, but the battery has been giving out, pushing me to try new ones. I held off until these were available to try the latest tech. Overall though, this feels like a downgrade from my Gen 3 A50s. My main complaint is the output "A50 X Game" sounds exactly like the Voice channel. There is no bass. It feels sharp and elevated to high frequencies. I have adjusted the equalizer and there is a noticeable difference, but still sounds horribly tuned to the highs. Outside of that, the headset itself is tighter than previous model. After about 30 minutes, it's physically painful. Maybe the others are just stretched out, but another downside. Finally, my teammates have told me the mic sounds boomy, as if I'm underwater. I have both this and the Gen 3 A50's hooked up, so I just hot swapped to the old ones and they said it sounds much better. Overall disappointed in the new ones. Maybe I got a dud, since everyone else says these sound great.... I will say the Lightspeed gives the headset about 2x more range than the previous ones... but that's about the only pro I can give it.
