Customers admire the Astro A50 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset for its excellent sound quality, comfort, and solid battery life. The headset's seamless connectivity and broad compatibility across devices are also appreciated, along with its lightweight design. While the product is considered slightly overpriced by some, and a few users desire a slightly larger fit, the setup and software experience could be improved.

The Logitech G A50 X lightspeed, wireless gaming headset is a solid headset. In the box includes the headset, the base station, and USB cables. The base station is a charging dock, it also allows you to connect your Xbox, PS5 and PC all at once, with a toggle button on the headset that lets you switch between them. It also has a Bluetooth receiver built into it, to connect to mobile phones. I’m not a huge fan of having to connect my systems to the base station with an HDMI and USB (for each system), as it adds unnecessary cables and clutter. This kind of defeats the purpose of them being wireless, I would have preferred a wireless USB dongle, or the Bluetooth receiver built into the headset, instead of having to use the dock. The A50 X Headset has excellent build quality, plus its incredibly comfortable to wear for long periods of time. The soft cushion pads on each ear, are both comfortable and provides air passage so your ears don’t get too sweaty. Each ear cushion can both be removed as they’re just attached magnetically. This makes it very convenient when they get worn out and you need to swap them out for new ones. There is also another cushion that rests on top of your head to provide extra cushion and support. The flexible mic that’s attached to the left ear, has an auto flip up to mute feature, it also boasts 48khz studio quality sound, there is also independent game and chat volume controls directly on the right ear. When it comes to sound quality, the A50 X don’t disappoint. The Pro-G Graphene Audio drivers delivers both excellent sound quality and smooth bass. The headset is Dolby Atmos compatible, as well as Windows Spatial Audio, and Sony 3D audio. I connected the headset to my PC, and I downloaded the Dolby Atmos app on Windows. Right away, the program automatically detected my headset with no need to download or install drivers. The app has built-in demos, to be able to get a good sense of what Atmos sounds like, and the results were very impressive…It sounded like audio was coming in all directions around me, not to mention the clarity of the sound. I connected them to my PS5 next, and after a few adjustments in the settings, I was able to test out Sony’s 3D audio. While this sounded very clear and the 3d audio effects worked, I noticed that the Dolby Atmos sounded much better and had a much broader sound field, so I decided to switch the settings to Dolby Atmos. Overall, I am very impressed with the Logitech G A50 X Lightspeed headset. The headset is incredibly comfortable to wear, and it has a good build quality. The sound quality is top notch when it comes to gaming headsets, the virtual surround sound effects are incredible, and the sound is crystal clear. My only complaint would have to be the Base Station and having to connect it with so many cables. Other than that, I would definitely recommend these to any gamer looking for a good quality headset.

Logitech is no stranger to gaming headsets. The Logitech Astro A50 X Lightspeed Wireless feels like a one-stop shop for all your gaming headset needs. First off, I just love the way the Astro A50 X look. There is not much that has changed from its predecessor. It isn't a quiet design and it isn't excessively flashy either. I love the way that the headband slides up and down. The vast majority of the headset is plastic but it still feels premium. It does not feel cheap (and definitely is not cheap). Build quality feels good for the most part. The earpads are comfortable and breathable. Setup was the most annoying part of the process for me. The true advantage of the Astro A50 X is the ability to connect simultaneously to all the different systems. Otherwise, it probably is not worth it for most people. Now, due to the nature of all the different systems, it requires multiple cables and HDMI (which are not included). I am not the best with cable management so it took a while to make it make sense and pretty. Once set up, I was blown away by the performance. The sound quality is excellent. The mic quality is even better. I love not needing to pair-unpair every time. Now, the process is not always seamless as it does occasionally require an unplug/plug to reset but I was happy with the convenience. Unfortunately, this also means that it doesn't travel well with all of its wires. All in all, I was really happy with the Astro A50 X. It definitely occupies a niche role for those with multiple systems.

Excellent headset, sound quality is very clear and comfortable on your head and ears. You can easily switch between Xbox series x and PS5. You can also switch to PC but I don't have one. I highly recommend these and it also uses only 1 hdmi on your TV or monitor. The only con is the the price. I still think it's worth it but I'd look for a sale or coupon to save a little. Currently paying over time with Affirm so it don't hurt my wallet all at once.

If you follow the tutorials to a “T” (using recommended ultra highspeed HDMI 2.1 cables), you should have no issues with this headset. Has a lifetime dolby license and is recognized by the Dolby app once properly connected. I can’t speak for if they work flawlessly with LG monitors but I have a 4k 120hz samsung monitor and have zero issues. Connection is stable throughout my home and the headset and mic really sound amazing. Nice update from Gen 4 in my opinion. Also to mention, they really are lighter than gen 4 and they don’t feel taxing to wear after long sessions (6 plus hours). Bluetooth is a really nice touch on these as well for the base station and allows calls while gaming and still being able to hear game/party chat.

Finally, a "true" all-in-one! I have had at least a dozen or more gaming/media headsets over the last few years, with each claiming to be better than the next. Though I did find certain features intriguing, there many gimmicks that put one leaps and bounds over the other. The Astro doesn't have many "gimmicks," just pure functional perfection. Being a multiplatform gamer, most higher end headsets will have a specific target system for full compatibility and decent functionality with the rest. This can be a pain when trying to get the best experience across all platforms. It is refreshing to see a true all-in-one. If not clear, the base is a pass-through box for PS and XBOX. It uses HDMI 2.1 so you won't need to sacrifice video quality to attain the enhanced audio capability. Also, all devices, minus Bluetooth, will need to be plugged directly into the switchbox. So if your PC is in a different room than your PS5, you're going to need a long cable to take advantage of the system switching. Switching between inputs is as simple as pressing a button with a clean display to note your current system choice. The sound is impeccable. Coming off what I thought were the best around, the audio clarity in the Astro is absolutely stunning. Even running my older PC games, I can truly hear the soundstages that were compiled. Of course, all (most) headsets are compatible with the Dolby Atmos Windows app, but this is one of the few headsets which use it to the full extent. Clean, crisp, reflective audio across all mediums. There is no active noise cancellation, but the volume is plenty for me with full volume being a bit much. To note, there is some sound bleeding at higher volumes, so be aware if there are others in close proximity. Comfortability is another 10. I prefer the cloth ear covers over the pleather film. My ears stay cool and there is no irritation to long wear thus far. If you prefer the film, the cups are removeable, and I assume there will be different replacements coming down the pike. Signal range is just about as good as any top end Bluetooth headset I own. I can walk all around my place with only a few spots of droppage. Another bonus is integration. I dislike having to install app after app after app for every new piece of gear. Being my keyboard and mouse are Logitech, I am already accustomed to the GHUB. Whelp, as soon as I plugged these in, and selected PC, they instantly pooped up in the GHUB ready to be configured. Seamless integration all in one place. Great build, great sound, and great all-around functionality. For a one-stop solution, these are absolutely worth it.

Gotta start it off by saying that these are the best sounding gaming headsets I've every owned. I do have some higher end headphones that sound a bit better, but as far as a dedicated gaming set go these are the best I've had. My first test was to see how muddy the bass gets. I always use Vibes & Stuff from Tribe since the bass line causes a lot of cheaper speakers to turn muddy. While the A50's did struggle a bit, it was clear enough to not distort the vocals much at all. After tweaking the EQ a little I got the sound profile that fit me and everything sounded perfect, even at full volume. Full volume isn't as loud as we used to get on analog headsets. Next was gaming. I'm currently playing Diablo 4 and the intro came in with the thunderous boom, just like I want it to. I'm not really into nitpicking every little sound object like some need in competition, so I want pleasing, immersive sound and the A50's provide it and more. The mids and highs are crisp with the bass booming without clipping. The one thing I didn't go into to much in the software were the profiles. While it may be beneficial to some to have EQ presets change as games do, it's a pain for me. Since I mainly use Logitech KBM with lots of button presets for each game and application I use. I'd like to keep my headset presets the same throughout since I tweaked it on the desktop to where I want it. I'll have to check if it has a persistent setting option as I didn't look into it last night. On PC, the biggest annoying feature is that if you turn off the headset the base unit still registers as an active headset and won't auto switch back to speakers. So you have to either manually switch on the PC or cycle the base station to Xbox or PS to get the PC to auto switch. It's not a big issue, but just one that I'd rather not have to deal with. The fitting is very comfortable and the A50s feel almost as light as a ball cap. I have a wide head and the clamping is just slightly tight, but should setting after a few weeks of playing. Better to have it too tight than too lose since I can easily fix it being too tight. The cups are comfortable and, while my ears do get hot they don't sweat. I like the felt cups and hate the pleather ones some use. They don't allow my ears to breath as well. So far I'm extremely happy with the A50's and almost feel like I've found the perfect headset.

So many frustrations, but good unique features

This headset has had a ton of issues for me. As someone who uses it daily, I have noticed lots of bugs and strange design choices with the headset. Pros: First, Seamless switching between BOTH xbox and ps5, and pc as well. This was the first headset I’ve seen have this feature and it is very well done, switching with just the click of a button. As I have Xbox, Pc, and PS5, and switch between them often, this was the whole reason I bought the headset. Second, the headset is very comfortable, and has well done flip to mute. You can move the microphone completely up to the side of the headset to get it out of the way. Cons: First off, the bluetooth. Instead of being connected via the headset like most other headsets do it, the range is based off of the base station you charge the headphones on. This is a big problem for me, especially since it has very poor range, even having issues just a single room away. The range issue also affects the normal console/pc audio too, I’ve noticed, since my computer and the base station are in two different rooms. Secondly, there’s been an extremely irritating glitch that happens with the bluetooth when watching any media on your phone. Sometimes, for no reason at all, the audio on whatever video you start watching, (ex. TikTok) will just stop playing sound after a fee seconds, and you have to restart apps, or restart your headset to fix the audio. This happens all the time, every day for me. I’ve contacted support about it and they told me that they recreated the issue, but couldn’t do anything about it, so I wasn’t happy. I’ve exchanged the headset for a new one for both the range and the audio issues I just mentioned, and neither of them were fixed, so it seems like this is just how the headset is. Lastly, the headset I currently have I purchased April 03, 2024, and it just stopped letting me talk in xbox parties, ps5 parties or on pc in the xbox app today. The microphone still works via bluetooth, but it seems to be bugged to where it doesn’t work anymore for console/pc. Since I’ve only had this for a year, It’s very frustrating that it is having so many issues.

    Amazing with work needed

So, the first thing I did when I got the headset was hook it up to my phone (Bluetooth) which gaming. It is awesome I can answer phone calls and game at the same time. Out of the box you need to download custom or make your own EQ settings what is provided really sucks. They have made several improvements since the last generation (Gen 4) one of them is replaceable battery! Yes, you can replace the battery by getting a paperclip and push it in the hole where it removes the cover! I hated the fact that my last gen was a lot of work to replace the battery. Second is the software upgrade improvements! Much easier and probably not going to destroy your headset. You no longer use Astro Command Center instead use Logitech G Hub which I have not had any issues with. Range? It’s less than the Gen 4. It has a hard time penetrating walls which doesn't surprise me however the Gen 4 was better at it. Battery Life? Much better than last gen it will last 24hrs. Not sure what some reviewers saying it does not but mine does. Console use? No idea I don’t have an Xbox or PlayStation. Customization? Sometime overwhelmingly a lot of customization. I am glad they didn't put any LED lighting or anything like that since it would be annoying for me because of it messing with the battery life Value? Kinda sucks however it does justify the cost if you have two different platforms. Upgrade Worthy? If you already have a Astro Gen 4 I wouldn't upgrade unless your Gen 4's have broken. I swapped because my Astro Gen 4 were dead from a software update.

The best wireless gaming headset I have ever owned

I have had well over a dozen headsets over the years. Different brands, different features, different types of microphones, etc. After every new "best wireless headset ever" came out, I would give a try to see if it could actually replace my wired setup. I love wireless headsets for the convenience and mobility, but could never truly commit due to the sound and mic quality never matching or exceeding my wired headphones and USB mic. Once you get used to crystal clear audio, it's hard to use some inferior just for some added convenience. However, this new A50 X headset has exceeded all of my expectations. Sound is punchy and clear with plenty of bass. They finally upped the bitrate of a wireless headset, and the difference in sound quality is definitely there. I have also always preferred flip to mute mics, instead of having to find a button or switch. The flip to mute in this model works perfectly. I was also blown away by the mic quality overall. My friends have commented that my voice always comes in loud and clear. The mic definitely sounds more like my standalone usb mic than a lower quality mic on a lesser headset. There's no crackle or fuzziness, my voice doesn't sound far away. It's just clear with enough bass to sound realistic while chatting with friends.

Always stuck with Astro through the years, so I bought these and wow! They were excellent, until I noticed the screen flickering with the hdmi cec enabled in my oled monitor. And ended up, multiple people had same problem with the base station being a pass through for the ps5, having game/chat mix was nice but not with the thought of losing anything with my Alienware aw3225qf monitor. Returned the A50x and went with the A50 Gen 5. No need for the hdmi pass through.

Very convenient and great headset. Although I don't own any consoles, I use it to seamlessly listen to audio on my phone and my computer at the same time. Battery is great. I never have to worry about battery life as I just re-dock it to charge whenever I'm done using. The way the microphone mutes when it's not extended is also a very handy and convenient feature. The actual audio quality however, I was expecting to be better at the price tag. It's still solid but could be better for sure. If you get this headset, you're mainly paying for convenience.
