Poor Build Quality for the Price
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Poor build quality for a headset with this pricetag. Within 2 weeks of receiving the headset, the boom mic just falls down and has completely destroyed the sound quality of the mic. The ability to adjust the EQ wirelessly is a nice addition along with the ability to switch between devices and simultaneously connect via bluetooth to my phone. I would say the sound quality itself is about the same as its predecessor. The setup with the PS5 is a pain and I would suggest to NOT follow what the guide says. I will be returning this headset.

Comfort, sound great, may not work on LG for now
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Note: Currently might not output 4k 120hz on LG Tvs or monitors but should be fixed with a firmware update soon. If you have Sony, Samsung, or other branded TVs and monitors like Asus, MSI, Alienware then you should be good. Extremely comfortable, earcups feel like soft clouds. The material is cloth which I like because pleather makes your ears sweat. Sound is very good, the app lets you adjust sound for each game on PC and then it saves for each game on PC and console. Microphone sounds very crisp, not much noise cancellation but there is a mode in the app to drown out some background noise. Dolby Atmos works great even on PS5. To connect to PS5 it took a bit of work as I had to boot the console on safe mode in 1080p and then adjust the picture in 4k which isn’t really a big deal but PS5 is sometimes weird with non Sony products. I had tons of headsets, some may sound a bit better especially the open back headsets but they are not as comfortable or are too heavy, these sound great and have a solid smooth bass where other headsets I had were a bit shaky and painful in heavy bass, I can even hear footsteps without having to turn the bass down like on other headsets so you can still enjoy the game sounds and still hear opponents, these also feel so much better on your ears than any headset we ever had. The game chat mix is on the side so you can instantly lower the chat sound during the game. It also has simultaneous Bluetooth so you can listen to music from your phone or take calls, while playing games like Madden or 2k. They are expensive so maybe try to trade in some old stuff or find a coupon. Pro: Comfort, sound, microphone sound, features, EQ settings, battery life, simultaneous bluetooth, comfort again (seriously I used to just think that you had to settle for heavy or uncomfortable headsets or use earbuds but these feel so good) Cons: Expensive, might not get 4k 120hz with LG, to connect with PS5 it requires to boot the console in safe mode for the initial setup (not a big deal but Astro never mentions this, I had to research this myself)

Posted .Hey! Thanks for the comprehensive review of the Astro A50 X! You've highlighted its key strengths: exceptional comfort, high-quality audio with customization options, clear microphone, and long battery life. The ability to connect to multiple devices simultaneously with Bluetooth is a valuable feature for many users. We appreciate you mentioning the potential 4k 120hz limitation with LG devices and the initial PS5 setup process, Overall, it sounds like the Astro A50 X delivers a fantastic gaming experience!

Simply The Best Headset I've Ever Tried
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you’re anything like me you’ve been waiting a long time for these guys to release, and they have lived up to my expectations. I find them to be the sounding gaming headset that I’ve ever tried. COMFORT: If you’ve tried a previous Astro A50 before this is essentially the same exact design. Earcup size might be a bit smaller width wise. Has same rotation posterior (behind), minimal anterior (front), and vertical to adapt to your head. Can fit small to very large heads. I can wear them all day without any issues. They are open back which means you can hear everything around you. SOUND: Sound quality is simply the best I've heard on a gaming headset period. By a good margin. Noticeably better than my Gen 4's. A bit better than the Stealth Pros. A good step better than the Nova Pros. I'm constantly blown away at just how crisp and accurate everything sounds. Locational sounds are right on the money. I'm hearing things I normally don't hear (such as background noises). And when there is a bunch of different sounds going on I can easily tell them apart. My testing has mostly been done on PC. Also, did it on my Apple 4K TV and 4K Blu-ray player. Some on the PS5, which I thought it performed the weakest on. More on that below. They sound great for single player gaming, competitive gaming, music, and media. Which I rarely say. As most of the time a headset is only good at one or two of those things. The sound is comparable to my Hifiman Ananda's. The Anandas still sound better for music. But are super close while being wireless which is very impressive. But find the Dolby Atmos for Headphones (as doesn’t support Dolby Atmos regular) is a bit limited (as can only do PCM stereo through 4k Blu-ray player and Apple 4K). As it doesn't support Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital for Speakers. Tempest audio supposedly works but didn't sound super great and needs further testing. As I found when going through HDMI that it wasn’t working correctly so the channels seemed to be messed up providing a sub-par experience. But this is how they recommend you set it up on PlayStation (HDMI for game audio and then USB for chat so you get game/chat balance). But this doesn’t use the Temptest audio correctly (at least at time of testing and without a firmware update). And found that using the USB-C gave dramatically better sound but made it so I couldn’t use Game/Chat balance. As that did use Temptest audio correctly. Also, not as high of bit depth (16, 48k vs 24-bit, 48K). I don’t own an Xbox so didn’t test on that. But used that port for my Apple 4K and 4K Blu-ray player. I loved them during movies. As I had directional audio where I could hear where things were coming from. Also, the bass is excellent where explosions and gunshots sound great. The bass isn’t over done to the point it gets in the way of other audio. I think is just right as it is strong enough to be impactful without destroying other frequencies. In Single Player games I was very immersed. And in competitive games I had an edge as I could hear footsteps and where they were coming from well. Better than any of the other headsets I’ve tried (which is a lot). Music did above average as well. But wasn’t as good as my Anandas which I wouldn’t expect. But very enjoyable still. In the end I think the HDMI audio is going to be superior to most other headsets. As the data rate there is pretty significant. Not saying that USB-C is a slouch. But usually maxes out at 10 gbps for standard USB-C devices compared to 40 - 48 gbps with HDMI 2.1. Does this actually make a difference. Yes, I think it does. MICROPHONE: I found the “broadcast” setting to sound the best. As for a gaming headset mic, much less one that is wireless, I thought it sound really good. I would easily use it and didn’t get any complaints from teammates. BUILD QUALITY: Appears to be improved from the A50 Gen 4. The top headband has a stronger latch with bigger surface area which means it shouldn’t break as easy. But when twisting and spreading the headset you do see a lot of pressure there. Which makes me concerned. But I’ve torqued on it quite a bit without any issues. As the plastic itself is quite malleable. Can use the previous ear cushions or Mod Kit on these. Which I greatly appreciate. Making it so you don’t need to buy new ones if already purchased. All the buttons have a very nice click and feel to them. None of them are loose. Charging cradle appears to have stronger magnets making it easier to place the headset into. COMPARED TO THE COMPETITION: I also own the Astro A50 Gen 4, SteelSeries Nova Pro, and Turtle Beach Stealth Pro. These are better than the Gen 4 A50 in every category. Ranked best to worst, A50X, Stealth Pro, Nova Pro. Put simply, using 4K TV terminology I find the A50x to be like 4K Dolby Vision Blu-ray quality, the Stealth Pro to be 4K Dolby Vision Streaming Quality, and the Nova Pro to be 4K HDR10 Streaming Quality when it comes to audio. Microphone is the best on the A50x. Comfort goes to either the Stealth Pro or A50x. I like the A50x works on all consoles. Technically, so do the others but require you to change wires. Assuming everything is in the same vicinity. ISSUES: There is a ton of tech inside this guy. Sometimes it doesn’t handshake correctly requiring a quick reboot (unplug power and plug it back in). Which is also sometimes fixed by just unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable. You’ll want to make sure you’re using HDMI 2.1 cables for everything. To further explain, sometimes I’ll get a messed up picture or audio when switching ports (Xbox to PS5 for example). Or when going from SDR to HDR on my 4K Apple TV. Additionally, even though everything is working correctly sometimes the audio bugs out. Sometimes this can be hard to tell has happened. I’ve noticed when this happens you get inferior audio in every way. Not as good of explosions (lows), directional sound is terrible, separation of sound isn’t as good, and some other issues. Power cycling (from the base station) will fix it. I think when people complain of bad audio it is due to the audio bugging out and them being unaware as everything else tends to be working. Also, noticed when this happens the Bluetooth won’t work correctly. Or won’t connect automatically. Some users have mentioned certain LG TV’s aren’t working correctly. I don’t have an LG so can’t test. But something to check for. I’m sure will be fixed with Firmware Update. Same with some monitors. As I don’t think most monitors support HDMI passthrough (eARC). On PC this isn’t an issue as just use USB-C as same quality. But if on console then it could be. OTHER: Switching between the different modes (Xbox, PC, PS5) is easy, works well, and is relatively quick. I'm getting the full HDR and 120 Hz on my PS5. Along with Apple 4K TV. Bluetooth works great. Immediately connects. Pressing the button for play/pause, skip forward/backward works extremely well as the button feels great and is easy to find. Unlike the Stealth Pro. Sound quality is excellent there as well. And balancing between the game and my phone audio is very easy. As again the Bluetooth here sounds better than the competition as well. Charging hasn't been an issue and battery life seems great. Only lost 1 - 2 bars over like 10 - 15 hours of use. Software works in Logitech G Hub. Don’t like G Hub. But gives you EQ settings for both the headset sound and the microphone. Supposedly there is also a stream port. Which I didn’t check out. So, for the price point I think it performs extremely well. As there is a lot of tech here. More than I think most people give it credit for. But I am using it on multiple things which helps justify. If I were only using it on a single device, I'd probably still buy it. But have more expensive headsets so I'm more used to the price. Also, sound to me is #1. But it performs excellently in every category. It doesn’t have noise cancelling. Which I don’t mind. Overall, I love it. It’s become my main driver.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dead out of the box. Spent 4 hours with Logitech customer support only to determine the unit was defective. Could not change between PC and Xbox mode. Even when connected to PC, Logitech's GHub software (to update firmware) would not recognize the headset. Be warned: Logitech wants the base station to act as an intermediary between Xbox and TV/display. You need two ultra high-speed HDMI cables. Xbox out to base station Xbox HDMI in and base station HDMI out to TV/display.

Best for Multi-Platform Gaming
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first Astro headset I’ve used since the A40 TR that I used and loved for several years. I came close to buying the previous generation A50 a few times, but I just couldn’t justify the cost. Now that I have the refreshed model I can say it has all the things I loved about the A40, plus more, and some of the things I didn’t like as much. The sound quality is fantastic, the microphone is also great, and they’re comfortable as heck. The base station is interesting and being able to connect to 3 systems at the same time is neat, but I wonder if bundling this headset with what is essentially an AV switcher adds to the cost unnecessarily. If you are a gamer that is constantly switching between multiple consoles I think the A50 X provides a novel solution, but it feels like a niche use case. Unboxing the A50 X, I found the build quality to be fine, but not great. It’s a mostly plastic build with some shiny surfaces that are just begging for fingerprints. The headset adjusts to fit via 2 metal rails that worked well for me and holds position well. I did have to adjust it to just about the maximum position to fit my large head. The headband and ear cups are made of a fabric material similar to the A40 I used previously. It feels comfortable against my head, but I wouldn’t call it ‘premium’. There are buttons on the right ear cup for game/voice balance and a couple more around the back for Bluetooth and source switching, in addition to a volume wheel and on/off switch. All of the buttons and the wheel on the headset have a good tactile feel, though it would be easy to mix them up by feel as they are of similar size. The microphone flips up and down and is very flexible, so getting it to the ideal position next to my mouth was not a problem. The base station, which also doubles as an AV switcher, has 2 HDMI inputs, one HDMI output, and 3 USB-C ports, with one USB for PlayStation and Xbox and the final one as a power/PC connection. For a wireless product you have to contend with a whole lot of cables to use the A50 X at its full capability. The box includes a special USB-C cable that splits between the PC and an included power brick, so the base station is not dependent on receiving power from a PC or console. There is also one additional USB-C to USB-A cable, but if you are planning on using both a PlayStation and an Xbox you will need to contribute additional cabling to the setup to make it all work. No HDMI cable is included with the A50 X. I wouldn’t exactly call this setup plug and play and planning the base station’s position in relation to all of your devices and routing cables will be a major factor to getting a clean arrangement in the end. The A50 X charges via magnetic pins on the base station, though it is very easy to position the headset in the wrong way or even not land it correctly on the pins when you do have it positioned correctly. There are indicators on both the headset and the base station that will let you know the headset is charging, but I do wish it landed in the base a little more seamlessly. The battery life is rated at 24 hours, but unless you are not docking the headset between gaming sessions I doubt you will ever run into a dead battery situation. The A50 X is wireless and uses Logitech’s Lightspeed protocol, which has worked well for my mice and keyboards and so far has not been a problem with this headset. I haven’t experienced any signal drops or other wireless weirdness at all in the week or so I’ve had it. There is also Bluetooth onboard that can play simultaneously with the Lightspeed audio, but it is tied to the base station and not the headset, so the A50 X could not be used as a Bluetooth headset away from the base station. Once I had the A50 X connected I was primarily gaming on my PC with the included Dolby Atmos license enabled. The sound quality on the A50 X is fantastic. The semi-open design doesn’t isolate you very well from outside noise, but it gives a nice wide soundstage that’s easy to get lost in. It is somewhat lacking in bass at the default EQ, but overall I found the sound to be clean and pleasant. The microphone is one of the best I’ve ever used in a headset and, from the samples I’ve heard, seems to be miles better than the one in Logitech’s other high end headset, the Pro X 2. There is no Blue branding or functionality in the G Hub software like there is on other Logitech headsets, but there are some basic tweaks to the microphone EQ as well like the Broadcast preset, which adds a little more warmth and boom to your voice. The volume adjustment wheel on the headset is independent from the system volume controls, so pushing one of those to their max and controlling the volume from the other place is the ideal way to go with the A50 X. I did not test the A50 X on a console, but as I’ve come to understand the A50 X has full 4K/120Hz passthrough and supports HDR, VRR, and ALLM. When the headset is off, the console will play its audio through the normal sound system and when it is on that audio is routed through the headset. It’s a cool solution, but having to get HDMI cables and USB cables involved hooking up a headset to your console feels like a lot of extra work. Overall I’m happy with the A50 X and I think it’s a great headset, especially if you game on multiple platforms. My main negative comments are I think the build is a little flimsy for the price and I wish it fit better into the base station. If you are only on a single platform or don’t switch between them very often it may be worth considering something less expensive, or something else in this price range that might offer additional features like noise canceling or on-headset Bluetooth.

Bringing them together. Needs extra cables!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally, the Astro A50 for all the gaming systems. Not just one or the other, but literally Xbox, PlayStation and PC all in one. Then, to add on to that, it also has Bluetooth support so you can connect your phone or any other device as well. I do find it kind of odd that is says “+Base Station” because this headset will not work without it, so it is kind of essential and not really a “plus” or additional thing. One thing to keep in mind, if you intend to use all these systems, you will need 1 additional HDMI and 1 additional USB-A to USB-C cable. It acts kind of like a receiver on its own where you hook HDMI from your Xbox/PlayStation to the base station, then HDMI from it to your Monitor/TV and then USB from the PC/Xbox/PlayStation for the rest of the audio settings. However, it has the split power/USB that works for the PC and one USB-A to C cable for 1 other device. Considering you also need to access the base station for charging, this might entail a fair bit of new wire management for you. Once you have it all connected, to switch from device to device is simply a press of a button on the headset. Which can also be an accidental press taking you out of your game completely as it switches the video source as well for the consoles. Also, the Bluetooth option is actually to the base station. So, it’s not like you can just use these headphones around the house and keep listening to the phone in your pocket as it doesn’t have the greatest range. However, for your normal sitting at the PC/Console playing games, this headset is amazing. What could make it even better is if you could listen/speak to 2 sources at once, like Xbox/PC, but having the Bluetooth play along the whole time is a neat feature. Also, the microphone is 1 device, so if you are talking over Bluetooth on your phone, you are not able to talk over any other device at the same time. At least you can hear both though. Sound quality on these is ear tickling. Literally the bass on these things along with the clarity is amazing. The 3D audio support with Dolby Atmos is spot on. The cloth ear cushions are comfortable, but don’t provide much for passive noise canceling though. But, if you like that open air feeling, these have that. Microphone quality is sharp and clear and the mic is flip-up to mute, however there is no feedback like a tone to let you know when it is muted unless you flip all the way up to the point it locks in place. Overall, besides needing to find extra cables and managing the cables around the little base station, this is what I expected the Astro A50 to be capable of. The video of your PC still has to go through its normal connection, but the 4K 120hz of the other ports brings you down one connection essentially and makes swapping between them super simple. With the day long battery life too, this is for non-stop gaming.

The best gaming headset on the market
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is what I’d call the apex of gaming headsets. It has all the features you might want with no extra fluff or juvenile lights and color schemes. I’ve owned dozens of gaming headsets over many years and I have always respected the quality of Astro but found in the past that they were lacking somewhat in comfort and certain features like Bluetooth. The last Astro I had was the second generation A50, and they have come a long way since then. This newest version takes everything I ever liked about the old 2nd gen and adds significant improvements across the board. I always appreciated the magnetic charging dock, flip to mute boom mic, easy to use mix amp controls and overall sound quality, and thankfully they have not messed with any of those good things. They have however added Bluetooth support for simultaneous sound from your phone while playing, enhanced the comfort level of the head band and ear cups, tweaked the design of the charging dock making it easier to get a solid connection for the headset to charge properly, and most importantly and impressively made it so you can pass through HDMI 2.1 for full 4k 120hz from both the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. This pass through gets the best sound quality possible and I have noticed zero lag or difference in video quality out of my hardware since adding the new A50 to my setup. On both sides of the equation you get full Dolby atmos support, and neither my PS5 or Series X report any changes to their video output quality since hooking things up. The only drawback to this pass through is that there is no HDMI cable included with this headset so you need to provide your own ultra high speed cable to output from the dock to the TV. If you intend to use this for both consoles at once you’ll also need a second USB C cable as there is only one of those in the box. With those two extra cables you can get two consoles hooked up and working with no fuss. I have an LG B2 OLED TV in conjunction with this headset and my consoles and everything works flawlessly. Chat quality is excellent, the atmos sound is phenomenal, I have worn them for many hours at a time with no fatigue or discomfort, they have massive battery life for marathon sessions, and even have a USB-C port on the headset for charging independently of the dock if needed. I’ve been able to keep gaming while taking phone calls and can hear the call crisp and clear with no distortion and am told I sound great on the other end. Other than wishing that it included an appropriate HDMI cable and second USB cable I cannot think of anything else I would ask for from this headset. It is extremely impressive and wonderful to be able to use for a multi platform household with such ease. This is one of the very best gaming headsets available today, and I think it is worth every penny.

Premium Comfort + Killer Sound = Worth Every Penny
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is a beast. Logitech and Astro did not come to play with the A50 X. From the moment I put them on, I knew I was in for an elite gaming experience. Sound quality? Immaculate. The PRO-G Graphene drivers give crisp highs, deep lows, and that juicy mid-range that makes you feel like you're in the game. Whether I’m on Warzone or Forza, the spatial awareness is insane—like cheat-code-level sound positioning. Mic? Super clean. I’ve been told I sound like I’m podcasting while gaming. Not quite studio-level, but way better than your average wireless headset. Comfort? Top-tier. These are light, the ear cups are soft AF, and I can wear them for 6+ hours without feeling like I got into a headlock with a robot. Battery? 24 hours. Legit. Drop them on the magnetic base station and it’s smooth sailing. The PLAYSYNC base station is a game-changer if you play on multiple systems (I switch between Xbox and PS5 daily). One tap, and boom—system switched. Plus HDMI 2.1 passthrough keeps my 4K 120Hz dream alive. CONS: Setup is cable-heavy. You’ll need some patience and desk space. Mic placement can be tricky—sometimes picks up background noise if you’re in a loud room. Pricey—but if you want the best, you gotta pay to play. Final Take: This headset is not for casual gamers. It's for the ones who take their game seriously and want the best sound, comfort, and flexibility across multiple consoles. If you’re willing to invest, the A50 X delivers big. Would 100% buy again.

Excelent
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech wireless earbuds offer a great balance of comfort, sound quality, and reliable connectivity. Designed for both work and casual listening, they feature a lightweight build and soft ear tips that stay comfortable even during long calls or music sessions. The sound is clean and well-balanced, with clear vocals and decent bass without feeling overpowering. They also include noise reduction for calls, making voices sound crisp and professional during meetings. Battery life is solid—typically lasting around 7–8 hours per charge, with the case providing extra playtime.

Great design, comfort, features and sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m honestly not sure what else you would need in a set of gaming headphones as the new Logitech Astro A50 X LIGHTSPEED wireless gaming headset comes with most bells and whistles. The Astro A50 X package contains the headphones, the HDMI base station, a USB-A to USB-C cable, a combo cable for your PC and the power adapter with a variety of plug heads depending on what region you are using these. Obviously one of the main features to look for in any good set of headphones has to be the sound which aren’t a let down in the Astros thanks to the the 40 mm Pro-G Graphene audio drivers. The sound is crystal clear with no delay in response thanks to the pro-grade LIGHTSPEED wireless technology they have. Possibly one of the greatest features the Astro A50’s offer is the ability to link all of your gaming consoles through their multi-system base station which allows you to run all your console’s HDMI cables and PC’s USB connections through it and which doubles as the docking station for your wireless headphones. The HDMI passthroughs offer Ultra HD resolution with 24-bit audio and 4K 120Hz video. On top of the input/passthrough options, it also has a Bluetooth connection in the event you want to pair it with your phone or other device. The next feature I always look for in a gaming headset that you might be spending hours on end wearing is the comfort. For me that means no high-end leather or vinyl material on the ear cushions as they cause me to sweat which is no bueno. The Astro A50s, thankfully, use a soft and cool mesh cloth type material that feels nice around the ears for hours on end. The 48kHz full-bandwidth broadcast quality LIGHTSPEED mic pairs perfectly with the high-end headphones and easily tucks away on the side when not in use. After using the headphones for several hours, it’s almost like they were not in use as the battery level barely budged meaning you can enjoy hours of use without worrying about the pesky low battery warnings and ending a game session. You can tinker with and fine tune your audio experience using the advanced Logitech G Hub on your PC and mobile application which has a 10-band equalizer, microphone settings, noise reduction and more. All that being said, the new Astro A50 X’s were obviously designed and manufactured for the hardcore gamers and could even double as your new over-the-ear music headphones when not gaming. The only thing I can think of that these might be lacking is haptic feedback which I had in my previous gaming headphones however that more of a bonus rather than a necessity and Logitech did another amazing job catering to gamers.

Great headset
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the third Astro headset I’ve had and I love them all. Very comfortable, good battery life, and great sound quality. I have had issues with lining it up on the dock properly to charge it so do be aware if you have a big head like me that the headset tends to stretch. But even then it usually only takes a bit of a wiggle to get it to charge
