Won't work with Windows 8 on my computer

I have a $20 piece of crap webcam that will work on my PC but not this. Is it the camera or my computer? Hard to review the webcam if it won't work.

Over Priced

Image quality is poor and product isn’t worth the money. Since it was too difficult to return, I kept it. This item received top rating my the New York Times, I can only imagine what lesser products are like.

Posted .Hey there, I'm sorry to hear that the video quality on your C920S was sub par. I would recommend downloading our Logitech Capture software, which should allow you to fully customize the quality of your webcam and allow you to manually tweak things like focus.

Waste of time and money!

Logitech's "Right Sound" function is a disaster!

It works for the spoken word, but terribly distorts musical instruments because of Logitech's "RightSound" software. Logitech used to provide an on/off switch for "RightSound" and "RightLight," but no more. These two settings are ON continuously.

Excellent Webcam for Reasonable Price

Simple plug-n-play setup, stereo sound, flexible options for positioning on monitor or tripod, and basic Camera Settings software with a good set of features all make this a great package for a good price. The added privacy shield, which enables you to block out the lens, is a small, but greatly appreciated, addition. As a Mac user, I was disappointed that the recording software offered by Logitech is only for Windows. The Camera Settings software, though, works great on my computer and I found the standard Quicktime software (included with my Mac) enabled me to record with little difficulty. The Logitech - C920S Pro HD Webcam is one of those welcome tech offerings that simply does it's job well.

Very sharp camera
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This Logitech C920s Pro webcam is crazy sharp. I’m used to laptop webcams and their fuzzy resolution. This webcam’s sharpness was a very pleasant surprise The included privacy cover was a nice little addition. That being said, I had thought it was something integrated into the camera itself from the product description. It’s not. Instead, it’s a separate little plastic clip that snaps into place in front of the camera. Not a big deal, but I thought it worth noting. The camera itself has a respectable amount of heft to it. This is not some cheap, hollow plastic thing. Installation was a breeze. I plugged it in . . . the end. No software or drivers needed to install. I just plugged it into my desktop, and it immediately began working using Windows 10’s camera app. Cord length is respectable. I had no problems positioning the camera on my desk while plugging it into my computer tower on the floor. The cable had plenty of slack, and I was able to move the camera around fairly easily. The camera has a variety of different positioning options. It can sit on its own base and rest on your desk, it has a tripod mounting hole on the base if you want to attach it to a tripod, and it can rest on top of your monitor by unfolding the base. This last one didn’t work too well for me as my monitor was too thin to properly support the camera at any usable angle. I did manage to get it balanced just right once, but I thought it was a mite too precarious at that angle. I found the camera worked best for me when positioned on my desk and resting on its base. The microphone quality was excellent. The person on the other end of my web chat had no difficulty understanding me whatsoever. I was also able to use the microphone on the camera with Cortana to issue voice commands to my desktop. It should be noted that this camera is NOT Windows Hello compatible. That technology requires infrared sensors and other bells and whistles that this camera is not equipped with. All in all, I’m very impressed by this little camera. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who makes frequent video calls.

Bad clicking noise when sharing video

I think it is the camera trying to auto-focus and the mic picks it up. People have said it sounds like a woodpecker.

Posted .Hello Nick, Very sorry about the issue you're having with C920s and the clicking noise that your colleagues hear when you share your screen. I can assure you that it isn't the auto-focus being picked up by the microphone, but most likely a software issue with the application you're sharing with your call. If you have your camera connected to a hub or KVM switch, that could be why this issue is occuring. Make sure that the C920s is plugged directly into a USB port on your computer. Awful on Mac even with powerful hardware

I'm on a 2019 16" Macbook Pro with the most recent OS and this thing is worse than cheap cameras on Amazon. The LogiCapture software does not help. Not at all worth the price on a Mac.

Wouldn't connect

A 1080p, 30fps webcam with privacy!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I haven't thought about external webcams in a long time because 99% of the time I was on a laptop, which has a built-in webcam. Then I added an external monitor, keyboard, mouse and suddenly I found myself needing a webcam but wanting privacy. The "s" in Logitech C920s stands for shutter, so it comes with a small clip-on attachment which you can use to either slide over or flip down over the camera. One of the reasons I picked the C920s is for this. Other than that, the Logitech C920s works exactly as you would expect. Setup in seconds (auto-detected by Windows 10), worked perfectly with Lync (our office messaging tool) and no complaints from anyone about video or audio quality. Happy and does all it needs to do.

Fast wifi not fast enough

It sounds like the issue isn't one of fast enough Wifi to support the camera, it sounds more like a hardware issue with your computer or a connection issue. If you had the the C920S plugged into a USB hub, that could've caused connection issues and the lag. Hope that you will give Logitech webcams a try in the future. Terrible packaging!

As far as the camer goes, I suggest that you use Logitech's Capture software when you get the camera up and running. Capture will allow you to customize settings for the camera and also gives you some great recording features as well. Can only be used in Admin Mode on PC

Since I personally prefer to be in that mode as little as possible, it's useless to me. I wish I had known this about it before I had purchased it, but lesson learned.

Posted .Hello. Thank you for taking the time to write this review of the C920S webcam at Best Buy. I'm sorry you're experiencing issues with the webcam, but I don't entirely understand what the issue is. I am currently using the exact same webcam and not in Admin mode on my work PC. I have never heard of this issue before of needing to be in Admin mode for the webcam to work. It should just be plug and play- no software necessary (although the Logitech Capture software adds a lot of extra functionality and adjustment). Please contact our technical support for more troubleshooting.

Broke in less than a month.
