Logitech - C920s Pro 1080 Video Conferencing, Streaming, and Gaming Webcam with Privacy Shutter - Black

The C920s has been a dependable webcam for meetings and video calls. The picture is clear and detailed, and I appreciate having the privacy shutter when the camera isn't in use. Setup was simple and it worked right away. While brighter lighting definitely helps image quality, the overall performance has been excellent and exactly what I was looking for.

The Logitech C920s Pro 1080 webcam is a standout performer in its price range. Video quality is sharp and consistent, with accurate color and solid autofocus. It handles lighting changes well, making it ideal for both professional meetings and content creation. The dual microphones deliver clear audio, and the privacy shutter is a smart, practical feature. Setup is fast and simple, and compatibility across platforms is seamless. However, low-light performance can show some grain, and the Logitech software feels limited for advanced users. The mounting clip could be more secure, especially on thinner screens. Overall, this webcam offers excellent value and performance. This is my second C920S that I have bought in the last 6 months. The first one I needed for my desktop to conduct meetings, Skype with family, and more. The camera has worked flawlessly in that regard. I'm using it on a Win10 system. This second one that I bought I needed for my living room to Skype through my Xbox. The camera features a 1080p@30 fps sensor, privacy shutter, dual microphones for stereo audio, and a built in stand. The stand also features a 1/4-20 threaded insert to mount to a tripod or any other camera mounting platform. The privacy shutter is nothing more that a flap the closes down over the lens, so it provides a modicum of privacy. For those people that are more sensitive to privacy needs the most effective way to shut out would-be snoopers is to unplug the camera after use. The great thing about this camera is it is quickly recognized and setup by Win10, so unplugging/plugging back in doesn't cause a large disruption. Cable length sits right at 5ft and connects via USB A. It also has a velcro strap tethered to the cable to make it easier to bundle up. The camera FOV is 78°. This narrower FOV limits the viewing area, which allows you to retain some privacy while on a video call or stream. The last thing I would want is a wide angle view of my basement while on a video conference with coworkers and outside vendors. Video quality is excellent and the clarity is right where it needs to be. In lower light conditions the camera automatically adjusts its ISO setting to keep the image bright. I have found that I can still be easily seen while in a darkened room, and only the light from my screen is illuminating me. The dual stereo mic does a good job of picking up audio even from a distance. This is really useful to me when I am Skyping through my Xbox. The camera is on top of my TV and I am sitting about 12-15ft away. I don't have to shout, but rather talk in a fairly normal tone and the other party can hear me just fine. Overall I was really happy with the first camera I bought. It worked great and delivered on its specs and performance. I liked it enough that I bought a second to use as the camera on my Xbox. It has a solid price/performance argument going for it.

As a teacher, I have had to adapt to the novel conditions placed on myself with regards to in-person instruction. I bought a laptop that would be powerful enough to support remote learning. I did my research and decided on the Logitech C920s webcam. I went directly to the Logitech website and they were out of stock. I thought oh great now what? On a desperate attempt, wanting to avoid the big online guy with the smile face on their box. I stopped by my local BestBuy. I walked in, the sales assistant was standing there and asked me if I needed help, I said yes do you have Logitech webcams? He said yes. isle nine halfway down, left hand side... They had a full hanger of the exact webcam I researched. within 30 minutes It was clipped to my laptop and I was recording in HD. simple. With all this technology we need two things: The product performs as advertised and secondly; A brick and morter store to get it where online shopping does not help my local town. I have had the Logitech C920s for a month and works great. it has great sound both record and playback. This is not only a recommendation for the Logitech webcam but BestBuy as well. They had what I needed, when I needed it. In this unique time we can use not only the internet for research, but also we can support our local stores where the money stays in town. to paraphrase an old adage "Search globally, BestBuy locally"

Installs in Windows 11 simply by plugging it in. Good video and clear audio. The privacy shutter is much appreciated and should be standard on all webcams. One thing to note is that if your monitor has a very narrow bezel, the front of this webcam's mount may extend slightly into your screen area. I was going to add a piece of material under to space it up and out of the way, but actually got used to it being like that before I got the chance. Highly recommended.
