Missing HomeKit Pairing Code
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera works fine but due to the inability to pair the camera with the Apple HomeKit app it is useless to me at this point. The 8 digit HomeKit code was not included in the printed material in the packaging and the QR graphic that would allow you scan and pair the camera to the Apple HomeKit was also not on the packaging materials for the camera. Instead of Circle Support researching and giving my code to me when I asked them they would like me to separate my camera from the mount and then look at the back of the camera for etched 8 digit HomeKit code on the camera. That would be fine if after installing the camera that I could separate the camera from the base without breaking it. It won’t separate. Below is my back and forth email exchange with Logitech Circle Support... Dear Circle 2 Support, The setup went fine with the Circle app on my iPhone but I want to pair this camera with Apple Homekit but there was no code on the packaging to scan or the alternate method is an 8 digit Homekit setup code on the packaging or on the device. Please provide the 8 digit code for my serial number XXXXXXXXXXXX or MAC address xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx ---------------------------------- Hi Larry, My name is Lakeisha. I'm here to help. I'm sorry that you are not able to connect the Circle Camera to Apple Home Kit. In order to find the code to set up the Apple Home Kit. You will need to remove the Circle Camera from its base and remove the white cover from the Circle Camera itself and it will be located on back of the Circle Camera itself. Let me know if you have any difficulties finding the Apple Home Kit set up code. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know. I look forward to hearing from you. For future reference, here's your case # XXXXXXXX. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact us directly with this case # via phone, chat, email or community. We would like to invite you to visit our Circle support site where you can find more resources and learn more about the usage of your Circle Camera. Best, Lakeisha Circle Crew Circle 2 Support Circle Support Security Made Simple. #CircleIt ----------------------------- Lakeisha, After submitting this Support request, I found the instructions to see the code on the back of the camera on your website. I tried separating the camera from the mount. It won’t separate. Please send the code. I would think that with my MAC address and my serial number you will have the data that you need to provide the code that was given to my camera. As far as a customer experience I find this situation to be very poor. You give no instructions in the box and no warning to a customer before installing that when there is no code inside the box or on the box that the customer should go to your website to find out how it will be paired with the HomeKit. Information such as this belongs in the box not on the website. Please send my code to me. ------------------------------------ Hi Larry, The set up code can also be found in the quick start guide of packaging of the new Circle. We don't keep the record of the Apple Home Kit set up code in our systems as this is normally located on the Circle itself. If you have any questions for me, feel free to let me know. Best, Lakeisha Circle Crew Circle 2 Support Circle Support Security Made Simple. #CircleIt --------------------------------------------- Lakeisha, Telling me that the set up code can be found in the quick start guide is worthless advice when I have already told you in my case it was not in or on the packaging. You did not do what might be “normally” done with the unit that I purchased. You also did not WARN me in your printed material that if the number was not printed on the packaging or written in the printed material that I must copy down the etched number from the back of the camera before installing the camera. Maybe you should learn a lesson and revise the printed material and add a warning that says if you intend to use this camera with an Apple HomeKit and the printed material or packaging does not have the 8 digit code that you MUST copy it down from the back of the camera BEFORE you install it. The only reason that I bought your camera is that it currently is the only outdoor camera that works with the Apple HomeKit. I work in a high tech industry and I can’t believe that your manufacturing records don’t contain complete records for every serial number that you have built. The records surely exist that when searched by serial number will give the MAC address assigned and Apple HomeKit 8 digit code that is assigned to each serial number that you manufacture. I have a feeling that instead of digging for the code you are closing this support request with an answer that serves you but fails me. The second camera that I was going to buy will not come from your company. My only recourse is a poor review of your product on Best Buy’s website. Keep an eye out for it. -------------- End of email exchange with Circle 2 Support As said the camera works fine but Logitech support is not working to resolve their issue. Instead of owning their issue they would make this issue mine. As they suggested I did try to remove the camera from the mounting base. The camera won't separate. This camera is very small and in my opinion it is delicate. It is not rugged at all. Any further force that I might use at removing the camera runs a risk of damage.

Posted .Hi Larry! Thanks for your feedback! I am sorry about your experience and would like to try and help you with this. Please email us at [email protected]. We will be happy to help you! It may be that we need to replace your camera in order for you to access the Homekit code. The weatherproof covering should come off easily with little force. Unfortunately, Apple regulates where and how the codes are provided. We would like to turn your experience around if you would give us the opportunity. Hope to hear from you soon!

This is by far the worst camera available
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product simply does not live up to the Logitech standard, the camera simply does not work at all. The camera is practically imposible to set up, and now it blinks amber and doesn't reset. If you are facing similar problems with this product, I found a solution:, grab your circle 2 drive to the nearest dump and throw it as far as you can, because that will be the most satisfaction you'll get out of such a terrible product. Before having this problem I had all kinds of issues: 1) lost wifi connection every single day 2) the camera doesn't reconnect to WIFI by itself 3) It takes forever for camera to come back from "power saving mode" 4) Battery life is not even close to the advertised one 5) amber blinking problem and no solution I honestly recommend everyone who owns this product to throw it out as soon as possible, re-selling it is not an option since you'd be doing the same dishonest action that logitech does. Trust me, thats the only solution.

Decent camera but broken HomeKit compatability
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The camera itself is decent and the Logi Circle app has most of the features most home users would need. The camera image quality is good with a wide 180-degree FOV. Night vision works well as long as you don't place the camera near a wall or ceiling (IR light reflecting off a nearby surface will significantly gain down the camera). That being said, the primary reason I purchased this camera was for its HomeKit compatibility. Unfortunately, it doesn't work the majority of the time. When trying to view the live camera feed from the iOS Home app, it will show "No Response". Occasionally it will work and this is a known issue which you can see on the Logitech forums: https://community.logitech.com/s/question/0D55A00007DF7mvSAD/homekit-keeps-saying-not-available I contacted Logitech support 12 days ago but still no response. Other issues I have with the camera is that, despite some reviews out there, does NOT do continuous recording. It only records when motion is detected. Additionally, you cannot setup an automation with HomeKit to turn the camera off when you're home which, being a HomeKit compatible device, I expected would be possible.

Would be 5-star camera if it actually worked.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this in hopes of being an outdoor security camera without having actually have it outdoors and drill into my siding. I purchased the Wired Circle 2 and the window accessory. I have had two Indoor Nest Cams for a few years now and I wasn't expecting the wired Circle 2 to have the same quality as Nest. I ran into a plethora of problems when trying to set up the Circle 2. 1. Good luck getting live mode to work. Live mode didn't work until about 2 hours in. For those 2 hours, live mode was completely black. I know the camera itself was working because I'd get the motion-activated clips. 2. The lag is WAY too long. Once I somehow got live mode working, it was delayed about 20 seconds. This is an eternity compared to Nest. Just trying to position the camera took forever because I would have to wait nearly half a minute for the live mode to catch up. 3. Window "night vision" is completely useless. I bought this so I could attached to my front door sidelights and other windows in my home as a way to see outside without glare or infrared light reflections and also without having to drill into my siding and wiring it. When you turn on window mode in night vision, it completely turns off the infrared lights. The infrared lights are how night vision works. Without it, the camera is just on. Now I live in the country so there are no street lights and I don't leave my exterior lights on at night. Essentially, window "night vision" is pitch black. 4. Need to change your timezone or wifi? Be prepared to reset the camera and redo all your settings. The camera itself takes a lot of work to use. Unbeknownst to me, I got all the settings how I wanted them only to realize the time was set in California. Changing it is not as easy as selecting a new timezone. You have to reset your camera and add it ALL OVER AGAIN. 5. To change any settings, you have to use the app. You can log in and view the camera on a desktop but if you try to change any of the settings, it will tell you to use the app. 6. No alerts. Sure it "has" smart alerts. Meaning it should alert you when it sees movement or a person or hears a sound. My camera/app never alerted me to anything even with me walking up to the camera, waving my hands and walking away. 7. Cannot hear anything coming through the camera. With my computer and phone volumes maxed out, you still cannot hear a thing through the camera. In fact, there was an audible buzzing noise coming through from the camera itself. I absolutely would not recommend this camera. The idea of it is great. If it actually worked, it would be a fabulous camera. But it doesn't and it isn't. Compared to Nest, quality is horrible. Set up is horrible. App is horrible. If they possibly fix these software issues, it might be worth getting? In the meantime, I'm returning this piece of s--- and getting my money back to buy something that actually works.

Posted .Hello Amanda, Thank you for your review ! We are sorry you encountered issues with the night vision and the smart alert feature of Circle 2. Circle 2’s Night Vision works best under the following conditions:
The camera is up to 15 feet away from movement ; The correct mount is selected in the Circle app (Settings > Camera Mount). Night vision will automatically update for optimal performance with your mount (If your Circle 2 camera is on a Window Mount, make sure the camera is in Window Mode. In Window Mode, night vision is enabled and the infrared (IR) LED won’t turn on. This eliminates any reflection from the glass.) ; The area you want to monitor is clear and unobstructed with no objects close to the camera in its field of view. The reflection of the night vision light from these objects may cause the automatic system to over-compensate, darken the image, and reduce the visibility of objects in the distance.
After you’ve selected the correct mount in the Circle app, you can also control the camera’s Night Vision settings under Settings > More Settings.
If you are using a Window Mount and your recordings are not well-lit, we recommend that you use an external IR light for illumination. Regarding the smart alert issue, please make sure the alert are activated in the app, the Maximum Frequency under Event Alerts is set to 1 minute and you are not in privacy mode : http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/circle-2-home-security-camera/faq#link_I-don-t-receive-Smart-Alerts-from-Circle-on-my-mobile-device-What-troubleshooting-measures-should-I-try

Not As Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have 2 of the windowed cameras and 1 wired. The only reason why these are touted as the best is because there is no other windowed camera that is built for that purpose. The video quality is awful. It's suppose to be 1080p but it definitely doesn't look like it. I've seen video of nest cameras and when I get a house, I'm moving to Nest. Much better quality.
