I didn't think it was possible for Logitech to take so many steps backwards on a new product revision, but they did so with the M575 and it primarily comes down to spacing. Let's start with with the placement of the back/forward button. Before, they were outside the left click button. It wasn't a perfect spot, but it wasn't horrible. The new system put the left button around the backwards and forward buttons. This leads to increased miss clicks when going forwards/backwards on pages or double button clicks when using one of the most important buttons on your mouse. The mouse buttons are also spongy. There is no firm click action to prevent accident clicks while your fingers rest. Small amount of pressure will set off the actuator and these small pressures are common when you also notice they removed a finger rest spot. On previous revisions, there was space for two fingers to be on the right side of the device, cradled off the ground. Now this space has been slimmed down to just one finger space. This leaves you trying to fit three fingers in a cramped button area or leaving one finger on the table, neither of which is a good option. Lastly, a none ergo gripe, but there is no DPI switch to control the trackball speed on the mouse. If you want to control how faster your cursor moves, you must download a separate program from Logitech, clocking in and around 200MB. If you don't plan on remapping buttons for other Logitech products, then that entire program will only do one function for you and must be installed on any machine you plan on using the trackball.

Hi Wiscontech. Sorry to see you're not satisfied with the design of the ERGO M575 Trackball mouse. If you need more space and love the trackball feature, Logitech also has the MX ERGO PLUS Trackball mouse that will allow more spacing for the fingers like you mentioned you liked with the previous models. Here is the link to the product: https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/mice/mx-ergo-wireless-trackball-mouse.html. Hope that helps.

    Every click is a doubleclick.

After use it will develop a problem where every click is read as a double click. I've had 2 of these and they both developed the problem. You can find videos on how to fix it, but they are BS and don't work.

Not as "Ergo" as the M570

    Posted .

The M575 is wider, and has a thin sharp edge where the thumb is. Kind of annoying. I prefer the feel of the M570 more, but it's discontinued and hard to get. I've had two and on both M570's the buttons wear after a year or so, and the Wheel gets jammed with dust, even though it's enclosed, so you have to pry it open to blast fan-like wheel with air. This M575 is gonna be a backup and I will be hunting for one of the last M570's. The M575 might be OK if it's on a flat surface, but it's very uncomfortable when in a chair using it on a HTPC.

      Hi ChicksHateMe,
I am sorry to hear that you like better the design of your previous Logitech trackball mouse. I suggest you try the MX ERGO Advance, this mouse does not have the plastic fin below the trackball, has a lithium battery, and has a better overall design. I hope you find this information helpful. Terrible...uncomfortable to use and difficult to control...bought it to use in tight spaces where a mouse would be impractical...this is worse...better off with the built in pad on the laptop...no matter how horrible that is,,,

      Hello Andy,
I am sorry that I dislike trackball mice. I recommend you stick to the traditional mice design you feel most comfortable using. Logitech offers a wide variety of mice designs, most of which will be the conventional design, such as the M650. Logitech appreciates your product review. - Leo from Logitech
