It is, however, very loud and audible to anyone nearby. Just be aware, if you're using these things in an open area - people sitting nearby will be able to hear everything that your hearing; especially, if you have these things cranked all the way up.

Great Headset for the money

The laptop is small and has on;y one mini jack that could only be used for a headset or a mic, not both. This headset was perfect because it is USB and worked out of the box with Win8. Most good USB gaming headsets are very expensive, I found this to be a very good headset without spending $100+ (like I did on my SteelSeries).

excellent value at $35

It's not quite the same level as higher offerings from Corsair and Razer or HyperX but works well for most games. Not wireless but that would normally be more than double the price.
