I wanted good quality earphones for a reasonable price. I don't use the mic so I don't care about its quality. I downloaded the Logitech software & use the surround sound. My computer has had some minor bugs using the software. For example: It seems like my computer doesn't know if it should use my sound card or this device and switches back and forth. But its rare

These headsets offer super rich bass. I am a audio natsi, if it doesn't sound like it should, i pretty much can't stand to hear it. These headphones offer amazing bass, something that really brings out the realism of a game, with 7.1, it is an amazing experience. I can't imagine anything sounding better, especially considering the price. Cord length is plenty long, about 6-7 ft i think, but would be nice if it was just a tad longer. That is the only thing i can think that is somewhat negative. Comfortablilty is not going to be uniform for everyone. These fit me perfectly and are very comfortable due to the only part that touches you is the raised blue ring inside the cups.

Ok what the person below me fails to mention is yes you can use the 3.5 jack but once you do that you do not have the ability to use the logitech software to adjust the headset. In fact as soon as you unplug it from the USB and plug it into the 3.5 jack the headphones vanish from the logitech software. If you want to use the surround sound then use the USB but at current there are issues (that logitech know about) with the surround sound and things like ventrilo and teamspeak where if you try to use them you lose your sound. The simple solution till logitech fixes the problem is to turn off the surround sound. Even with the minor issue going on at the moment these headphones are still worth ever cent spent on them they are just amazing.

I picked these up ($40) to replace my G35s (which I loved). After adjusting the bass in the software slightly, I love these. The sound is pretty good and the it blocks out more background noise when just wearing them than my G35s did. They seem to fit better then my old ones and the band on top does not press into my head. It doesn't have all the fancy buttons, but I never really used them. One nice new feature is the audio jacks and the USB adapter, so now you have a choice. I always hated buying headphones that only gave you one option. The in-line volume control works great too. It seems more natural attached to the cord then on the ear piece (though it could be it's downfall in the future). I always had to put extra thought into reaching for my ear piece to adjust the volume. If you can get these at a good price, grab them.

This is my 2nd pair of a Logitech 7.1 surround sound headset. Back in 2010 I broke that pair while packing them around in a bag with my gaming laptop. I purchased this pair for my gaming PC that I have put together. These are amazing. I'm currently using the included USB connector & am not experiencing the interference that some reviews talk about. This headset is perfect for gaming as I can play a FPS online & hear when & from what direction other players are coming from. It definitely gives me an advantage in that respect. For the sub-$100 price (and probably even more expensive range) I don't think you'll find a better headset.

Great headset. They put it on sale quite often so wait until it drops to about $50 to buy it. Mic quality is super clear according to people on skype and the 7.1 surround is great for videos, music and especially for gaming!

    Great Headset

I want to preface this review by mentioning that I only paid $40 for this item. It was on sale at the time I purchased it. I wanted to get a communication headset that would be comfortable to wear and reasonably priced. Voice Quality: Microphone is sensitive enough to pick up whispers and will only buzz at the loudest screams I could produce. Everything else is clear if not a little fuzzy. You shouldn't expect studio-quality audio capturing, but it is decent for communicating with your friends. Driver and Sound Output: This headset is pretty powerful when connected to a PC. It doesn't have an amplifier, so this would not be suitable for areas with lots of background noise or if you need your volume cranked up in order to hear it. I live in a quiet environment and usually will only put the volume up to 50% at the most. Sound quality is crisp and clear with a lot of range. Deep bass and crisp highs like you would expect from headphones of this size. Quality and Feel: These headphones give me the impression of being reasonably built, but not of excessive quality. For example, my pair can squeak occasionally while I'm adjusting them, something my friend's turtle beach headphones do not do (but they did cost more). For the most part the body is made of plastic. The headband is the exception. The metal band is exposed by adjusting the length of the headband. Also, I occasionally get a warning message from Windows 10 saying that it had issues with the built-in audio enhancements for this headset. I do have the Logitech Gaming application, but do not have any special settings for it. I did not get this message before I got that software.

I trust Logitech to handle creating awesome speakers, mice, keyboards, and have recently been introduced to their headsets! I picked this one out because of not only the volume control and the mic control, but also because of the comfort and color. Blue and black are my favorite colors, and now I'm wearing them on me ears? SWEET! XD The sound quality is great, and if you have your pc volume set to a proper level, you can control the sound nicely from then on just with the headset. It's very simple to use and incredibly comfortable. I also recommend the protection plan, because with cables and the blue part of the speakers could wear off within a year (COULD, not WILL)... better safe than sorry.

This was my 4th attempt at finding a reasonably inexpensive gaming headset, so I did a good bit of research by the time I got these. They're pretty awesome for the price, come very easy to plug in and use. They also are incredibly comfortable! For the price you can't find much better.

over all it is a great headset. i recently switched from a turtle beach px3 which is also a good headset but cheap materials went into that one. this logitech set isnt as loud as turtle beach but the quality is much better. now if you want this to hear the footsteps coming up behind you it will take more tweaking with the equalizer. seeing as how there are no presets buttons you will have to play with the equalizer. on top of that there are no saves to you have to adjust each time you change games or want to hear something else. now this is a ,mixed blessing. i believe it is more useful since you fine tune it more than other headsets. the usb dongle it comes with is required to install the drivers. it is not necessary to use it but you will need it for the initial install and then if you want to use dolby digital. the program that will run in the taskbar while using this product will sometimes mess up and only show half of the window. close it form the taskbar and restart. i also use a logitech g600 mmo gaming mouse that coexists in this program so i can control all my logitch devices in one program, definitely useful. this i believe is worth the price. all products will have some issues but i believe these are trivial or negligible if you will. games tested this headset with: BF3, witcher 2, eve online, WoW, also used with teamspeak and ventrilo works well with all

Poor excuse for a "Gaming" headset

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

A gaming headset should have 3 key things. Comfort, good sound, and a good mic. This has none of them. Let's start with comfort. It does fit nicely over your ears, even slightly larger ones like mine (that's where the one start comes in). After that, it's down hill. The sport active material for the head band and ear cups does help to keep your ears from getting hot and sweaty, but the material is itchy and not very soft. Also, the headband is somewhere around 3 inches thick, but the padding on it is only about one inch thick. As such, the weight of the headset is concentrated on that thin strip of padding, causing head pain after only about an hour of use. Now sound. It's terrible. I had my volume completely maxed out and it was still not at a high enough level. My $20 8 year Plantronics headset has better sound than these. The surround sound is nice, but what's the point if you can't hear it. Now for the mic. This is also terrible. It does not auto mute when it is folded, and if you turn the surround sound on, it will pic up any and all ambient noise to the point where it drowns out any sound from your game. There is no update to fix this. Logitech's solution is to go into your control panel and mute the mic. That's not a solution. that's just disabling an important feature for a gaming headset. I have a logitech gaming mouse that I have been using for over 8 years and I paid $30 for it. I was expecting at least the same level of quality from a more expensice piece of equipment, but no. Do not buy this. Look into the g35 or g930 or perhaps a plantronics headset.

An Averge Headset with Subpar Qualities

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I decided to purchase a pair of these because the pick-up on my 3.5 jacks is low on my ASUS motherboard and I had seen this headset worn in a Twitch stream by Bioware employees where it appeared to have a good mic sound. I needed a relatively decent USB headset and the ratings on this one were generally good. I ran into several issues. The drivers from Logitech failed to properly download for Windows 10, until I found them elsewhere on the Logitech site ( the file they had loaded on the headset page itself, for Windows 10 64-bit, was the wrong file.) The headset itself is cheap and overpriced for what it is, and it shows, and feels it. Light plastic with hard "cloth" plastic mesh ear cups that for some reason are square instead of round, and block out almost no external noise, and I did not find them particularly comfortable. At first, the microphone sounded awful, skipping in and out, requiring I download a firmware update from Logitech, and then update the driver software, which involved plugging and unplugging the USB multiple times, and configuring Windows 10 sound options. (Sidebar - If anyone with a Realtek driver is reading this, I advise removing the Realtek drivers and using the default WIndows 10 sound options, then whatever software you want - in this case Logitech.) You will also need to disable to microphone output through the headset options unless you want to hear every breath you take. While this is a good option for those doing voiceover while playing, the white noise it produces is excessive. With software and firmware both up to date, and without other drivers (Realtek) interfering, I was finally able to achieve good mic and decent sound. However, the constant creaking of the cheap plastic headset and the rubbing of the cloth cord against any surface was so loud and disruptive that I couldn't continue to use them. Further, the USB produced uneven sound between left and right ears, causing me to go into Windows and adjust the balance, there. I can't speak to the 7.1 Dolby Surround emulator because I dislike the echo-effect it produces and prefer to leave such things up to the game software itself, so I did not use it. If you are a casual gamer unconcerned with things like white noise static, uncomfortable ear cups, cheap build materials, and problematic software, but you have to have a blue and black headset, this could be for you. Instead, I would recommend the Kingston HyperX Cloud, which is a far superior headset (in both USB and Analog varieties) for slightly more money.

This is only my second pair of gaming headphones so I can't compare too well. I upgraded to these from the Turtle Beach X12. I am an avid pc gamer and I also stream. I was looking for something with good quality, design and also a really good mic. I love the look of these, the blue and black really stands out. The top padding on the head piece could be a little softer, even when I wear it loose they tend to hurt after a while. The ears are very comfortable and large and you can even remove them and wash them in a washing machine. As a girl, I love that, because well...makeup. The mic is amazing quality, when it isn't cutting out. I have tried everything to fix the problem and it still happens. It will randomly cut in and out and become very quite. My biggest complaint is the loudness. I was expecting pretty loud sound from these. With their own software and surround sound, it seemed obvious. I am very disappointed in how quite these are. With my pc volume turned all the way up, the headphones all the way up, and the software also all the way up, they are still very quite. The noise cancelling is pretty good. But then again, I have a feeling that is because they are so quite. All in all, I will keep them, I just wish they were better.

After having to replace my Steel Series headset (which I loved, however after a few years the mic stop working) I saw the reviews on this and the price was attractive. Opening the package the first thing I noticed was the blue cloth like material around the ear cups which is pretty soft and squishy (in a good way). The cord attached is plenty long enough, however doesn't come with a separate cord to make it smaller if needed. The cord does come with Velcro straps attached to size as needed or to organize to put away all together. The sound quality is good, but I honestly can't tell if it's much better or worse than the next over the ear headset. Another nice thing about this headset is that even with my huge melon I was able to easily fit this on my head with more slack to boot. Ideal gaming time with this headset would be up to a 2 hour session, anything longer it starts to be uncomfortable like most over the ear headsets. My biggest complaint is the microphone is flimsy and will not stay up if you don't want to use it. The overall construction quality of this headset is good, but I don't believe this will be a headset that will last more than 2 years with proper care. However, for the price that I got it (plus reward discounts) you really can't go wrong with this. If you want a much better headset, you will have to spend much more to get it.

For $80, i'm happy! I can game or listen to music with surround sound for hours on end. It took a good 5-6 hours for my ears to even start to hurt, that's better than any turtle beach I've ever owned lol. The sound quality is amazing, some say it sounds a bit fuzzy, not to me. It's perfectly clear. High quality mic, no static and no need to ever repeat myself. Get these headphones, it's worth it.

I like how the ear cups are big enough to cup your whole ear and makes the sound 'pop' and when I plug the headphone plug into my tv, I can hear really well (my old one I used for my tv at nights I could hardly hear sometimes), I don't use the mic much but when I do team mates say they hear me well.....not only would I recommend but my co-worker would to, he has 4 of these
