Not for gaming with Nintendo switch

What's the difference between headsets and headphones? A working mic! While my PC did show that the mic was working, this item is listed as a gaming "headset" for the Switch. That is not the case. It connects fine via bluetooth to the Switch but that's it. The usb dongle doesn't work so no voice chat. Also, the sound is kinda flat compared to other headsets and these are extremely light. That may be a plus to some, but it made them feel flimsy and easy to break. Will be returning

We purchased 2 of these for our kids for Christmas. It took forever to get them to connect just to update them. Forever to connect them to the Switch. And now the mic won’t even work for them in game. We tried everything. We are pretty tech savy people but we just cannot get these to work properly. Really wish they didn’t throw away the boxes so we could return them.

Hello Garbage, Very sorry to hear about the problems you're having connecting your G435 to your PlayStation 4. The G435 doesn't connect via Bluetooth to your PS4. You'll need to plug the LIGHTSPEED receiver into one of the USB ports of your PS4 and press the Power button on the headset for a minimum of 1.5 seconds to facilitate pairing. The LED turns cyan once connected. For more help with set up, here's a link to the Quick Start Guide PDF:  https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/4407898526871-Getting-Started-G435-Gaming-Headset. Solid Wireless Performance and Sound Quality

This wireless gaming headset features outstanding sound quality and rock-solid wireless performance. It is a great choice for anyone needing a wireless gaming headset, but who can’t spend more. At this price point, it would be very hard to find anything that sounds and performs better. I was very intrigued by the Lightspeed wireless connection, so that is the first thing I tried. Lightspeed uses a USB-A receiver to function and I was very impressed with how well it worked. I found it very stable and easy to use. I am looking forward to more products that offer it. The sound quality is excellent and they sound almost as good as other headphones that I own which are much more expensive. Logitech had to make some compromises with the construction materials to reach this price point, but thankfully they did not compromise on sound quality. This makes these headphones easy for me to recommend without reservation. The high quality drivers in this headset makes them sound really good. After using them for a few hours of playing PC and video games I found them to produce accurate, detailed, and full-range sound. The microphones pick up sound surprisingly well considering it doesn’t have a boom microphone. I never heard any complaints about sound not coming through. Logitech rates the battery life at 18 hours and that seems to be pretty spot on. I never game that long, but was able to use it for a few days without needing to recharge once. The construction materials are inexpensive, but is what one should expect at this price point for wireless headphones that perform this well. The headset is on the smaller side so it might not work well for those with larger heads or those who prefer a larger size.

    lightweight, some interesting design/UX decisions

This is the hardest review I have had to write in a long time. I normally love everything from Logitech whether it's for work or gaming use. The Logitech G435 has a lot of compromises and odd decisions that just leave me confused. TLDR: Audio quality is great. Microphone is over-sensitive. Comfort is excellent. Some weird design/UX decisions make it less than perfect (No boom mic, inbuilt only, and Lightspeed pairing a little complex). USB C charging is a nice plus. The Logitech G435 headset looks nice enough. I have the black version with the neon yellow cables and buttons. It's not a bad look and since there's no RGB lighting, it makes the G435 look like a gaming headset. Build quality, what you immediately notice is how lightweight the headset is - it's literally feather-light. This makes the G435 feel a little less premium, especially vs other Logitech G series products that tend to have some weight to them. Not that lightweight is a bad thing, after all, it's a headset, and being light can make it feel more comfortable during prolonged gameplay. Comfort-wise, the ear cups were good and the arm is covered with stretched fabric so it's super comfortable. Where it all counts though is audio quality. And this is where I am a little confused. The headset has good almost great audio, but Logitech went for a hidden inbuilt microphone for the G435. So there's no microphone arm or mouthpiece, it's in the headset itself. And in my tests gaming and Discord chat, the microphone was picking up a lot of ambient background noise including key presses - which is distracting for other players. If you're using a mechanical keyboard this headset may not be for you.. If you're casually playing by yourself and using the headset with your PS4/PS5 as an audio-only headset, it's not a problem but conversations during gaming are not great. One of the other weird quirks of the G435 is that pairing is a little more complex than I am used to for Logitech. Yes, it users Logitech Lightspeed technology but for some reason, the G435 needs to be switched to pair to the Lightspeed dongle using the mute button on the headset. Hopefully, they fix this in a firmware update. Bluetooth pairing though is easy. Paired with my PC and phone quickly over Bluetooth. I would note that I couldn't get it to pair with the Nintendo Switch firmware that supports Bluetooth. This is NOT a complaint given Logitech do not even suggest it's compatible. Just sharing FYI. I do like that the Logitech G435 charges via USB C (more USB C devices in my life - yay!). You do get the great support and backing of Logitech, including regular software updates, etc. My final score is somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4. I've gone for 4 since Best Buy doesn't let you do half stars. As a lower-end Logitech headset, it's a good entry-level unit, but I'd recommend saving up to buy the Logitech 733 if you want something that will make you really happy.

    Versatile gaming headset

The G435 is a good pair of entry-level gaming headphones with some great wireless features and audio support for Dolby Atmos, Windows Sonic, and Temptest 3D AudioTech. With the addition of Bluetooth support, you’re now able to pair them with your mobile device. Overall audio sounded great, there’s a nice amount of bass to bring out those sound effects. Volume does get up a decent level but still left me wanting some more out of it. Games like Wipeout that have a good soundtrack sounded good with the mixture of music and game audio effects. For online multiplayer like Call of Duty and Fortnite no mic complaints even with some background noise. Some of the extra features I like were the ability to set the max volume to 85db (useful to protect kid’s ears) and turned on/off the sidetone. With the built-in mics no worries of them being damaged. Battery life is very with up to 18hrs of playback. Charging is done via a USB Type C port. No longer need to keep that old micro USB cable around. Unfortunately, the USB C port does not audio over a wired connection. There are a lot of good features that the G435 brings to the table for the asking. There are some more affordable headphones out there but they don’t bring half of the features you get from the G435. For the features and performance, you get from the asking price, I think it makes them a worthy consideration. “Reviewers in this invitation-only program are provided products for the purpose of writing honest, unbiased reviews.

Terrific gaming headset for the price point

I received this product in exchange for my fair and unbiased review. TL-DR - The Logitech G435 Lightspeed wireless headphones are a terrific value, not just as a pair of wireless gaming headphones but as a pair of wireless headphones, period. They require no drivers to use with your computer and work natively with Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chromebook through the included dongle. They also have Bluetooth for use with your smart phone, tablet, PC, or compatible console. Where the build quality kinda lacks (not for the price but when compared to premium options), the audio shines brightly - the plastics feel midrange while the drivers have a well-rounded sound, from bass as deep as you could possibly want it to voices that sound natural and highs that are crisp, light, and sound perfect. For the price, you really can’t go wrong - especially considering they sound better and are built better than many wired options in the same price range. 5/5 - not perfect, but about as close as it comes to perfect. ————————————————————— Unboxing, first impressions, and setup: The headphones are packaged well, with plastics tabs and paper inserts to protect what needed to be protected. You’ll also find a USB-A dongle for usage with your computer, a USB-C charging cord, and literature in the package for setup instructions and warranty information. The headphones themselves are a nice mix of matte and shiny black with lime green accents in the headband wire and buttons. The headband is wrapped with a soft, stretchy cloth and the ear pads are soft foam wrapped with soft cloth and are supportive of the headset. They are immensely comfortable compared to other headsets I have with vinyl ear cups and compare in long-term usage to soft leather ear pads. The entire headset is light. Setup for use with a computer is easy - plug the included dongle in and go. It worked with my Mac, my PC, and my Chromebook with zero setup. Setting up for usage with a smartphone, tablet, or other device capable of outputting Bluetooth audio is a little more difficult than the typical headset - you have to press and hold the power and mute buttons to get into Bluetooth pairing mode, but otherwise pairs easily. One thing mentioned in the setup instructions is that the battery for the G435 is easily user-replaceable. This is the first I’ve seen of this for any consumer wireless headset, no matter what market it’s in. Most tear-downs you see of other headsets on YouTube shows them being destroyed. I did pop the left ear cup off and, yes, it’s pretty easy to replace the battery if you’re patient. ————————————————————— Usage: First things first, these are built primarily for gaming. I played Halo MCC, Portal 2, and Lumines Remastered just to get a feel for these; I also listened to the Dolby Atmos demos from the Dolby app for Windows 10. To say I was floored was an understatement; while it doesn’t beat my 7.2.4 Atmos setup for gaming, I could pick up on Jackyl Snipers in the distance in Halo 2, and the soundtrack sounded amazing. For Portal 2, the ambience was deeply enhanced as it sounded like I was in the old Aperture Labs complex; I swear I could hear Cave Johnson in the distance as he talked about the lemons. The music in Lumines is meant to thump, and thump it did; these headphones have bass for days. And the Dolby Atmos demos? It was like sitting in a theater. So for smartphone usage, audio quality is terrific and latency is very low, meaning these are great for both listening to music and playing games on your iPhone. While pairing isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do compared to standard Bluetooth headphones, these are worth pairing to your phone as the audio quality is very good over Bluetooth. Just make sure your phone is in easy reach if you want to switch the track you’re listening to as the only control you’re given is volume control. For both game chat and talking on your smartphone, the microphone’s audio quality is acceptable. A boom mic or separate microphone provides better voice quality and less background noise, but you could definitely do worse than these. ————————————————————— Final thoughts: For the price, you can’t do much better than the Logitech G435 Lightspeed gaming headset. They perform better than many wired headsets in nearly every aspect at the same price point, the battery lasts for hours and hours AND is user-replaceable, and they’re easy and comfortable to use. The audio quality is just excellent. If you’re in the market at this price point for a headset, get them. You won’t regret it.

Quick Review ------------------- This is a decent light weight headset which can do both lightspeed and Bluetooth. Since this headset also supports Bluetooth, you can use it with tablets and phone for phone calls and android/apple iOS based gaming. I like the fact that it is light weight, has an outstanding sound quality for calls, excellent sound and decent battery life… Pros ----- 1. Its light weight, only 5.8Oz, 2. Versatile - since it can connect to Lightspeed and Bluetooth, it can connect to PC's , Smartphone and tablets. 3. I have used this for online gaming and zoom calls and the sound quality of the mic is amazing. 4. Decent battery life - 18 hours 5. Type c charging port 6. Dolby Atmos support Cons ------- 1. Wish the batter life was even better than 18 hours Setup ------- LightSpeed - setup is easy, connect the USB device to the USB port, push the power button for 2 sec and you are connected. Bluetooth - press the power and mute button for 3 seconds and LED will flash which means you have entered pairing mode. If you press 3 seconds or longer on the mute button, you can switch between lightspeed and Bluetooth. Usage --------- The headset is comfortable on my large head, it has a good amount of stretch. It is also lightweight and that makes it comfortable to we The soundstage is amazing. When listening to music or gameplay, the sounds seem to come from all directional. The headset also support Dolby Atomos but did not get a chance to use. I also used the headset with my PC and smartphone (Bluetooth) for zoom calls and the sound quality is good and my meeting participants did not have complaints. The rated battery life is 18 hours, I think might have gotten close to that number. Overall for the price and the versatility, this is a great headset to buy!!
