Logitech might be trying to enforce the use of GHub by having the mouse default to preset and useless onboard profiles that have the RGB set to full blast to minimize battery life, but with some work you can bypass this and use your own profiles. I installed GHub, changed the onboard memory profile, and uninstalled GHub, then it's a good mouse.

Feels about 3/4 the weight. I would have preferred more heft. Other than that, battery life is good, and the rubber texture is easier to clean (no tiny triangle holes)

Excellent performance…a little pricey

It’s very light and precise. Coming from a heavier wired mouse I was pleasantly surprised. I would say I have average to small hands for a male and I love the placement of the two side buttons. My thumb has no problem reaching both. The third DPI shift button is a little harder for me to reach. People with average to large hands will have zero problems with it. Ive never owned mouse with a DPI shift button. It does its job and helps a lot with quick precision shots. The only downside if I had to have one is that this mouse is great but not so amazing that you couldn’t get a much cheaper mouse that performed similarly. Great gaming mouse…amazing if money is no object.

The gaming software was easy to install (once I went to logitech's site) and setup was a snap. I paired this with the powerplay charging mousepad and never have to worry about my batteries dying at the wrong moment again. The plethora of buttons within easy reach on this mouse is a great replacement for my old G700 that died. I could find a direct replacement with Logitech's offerings, but was going to get a Hero 502 before seeing this one release, and I'm glad I waited. The RGB is a gimmick for non-professional players, but it does add a nice feature for seeing the mouse in a dark room gaming.

I have upgraded from the g502 LightSpeed(previous generation) and also have used Logitech G Pro Superlight. The G502 mouse shape has become my favorite to use for both gaming and productivity work. I use them exclusively all day between my work machine and my Gaming Setup. The G502X Plus is a nice incremental upgrade from the LightSpeed. It's lighter and nicer to use. Thumb grip feels improved, and buttons click very nicely. Overall this is a very nice upgrade if you are coming from a prior g502. The white is incredibly nice when illuminated.

The best mouse

I did not notice any difference between the wired and wireless version. I love this mouse and i go days without having to charge it. My wired version was always getting caught and snagged when gaming but since going wireless I no longer have that issue. Setting up the mouse can be tricky in ghub if you are like me and just skim reading what you need to do. Once I actually paid attention it was really easy.

G502 Evolved!

I love the lighter feel and removal of the weights. Some might be disappointed that the metallic scroll wheel is replaced with a now plastic one, but I honestly thought that was the least attractive feature of the mouse, it felt too chunky for me. RGB is super vibrant this time around thanks to the design, but does significantly lower battery life while on, full charge lasts me about a week of game time (3-4hrs a day). Fantastic mouse!
