    Interesting concept - Fast gaming

In my time gaming with PCs I've owned almost exclusively Logitech mice and this just keeps up with that tradition. I am upgrading to the G703 from my aging (and dying) G700s and I have to say that for the most part it is an improvement. To start, the packaging is your standard mouse packing, it's plain box embossed with Logitech G703, a picture of the mouse, and that's about it. Not much in the way of literature (which is fine with me), the mouse itself, the wireless lightspeed module and an extension cable. Setting it up, as you would expect, from most mice, is plug and play, once I attached the receiver module to the extension cable it was good to go. Be aware that this extension cable can also be used to power the mouse directly should you run out of batteries while you're playing. And on the note of batteries, this mouse has the battery built-in, it is not user-replaceable like most of their previous wireless mice. Also something to note about this mouse is that it supports their 'PowerPlay' mouse mat which allows you to never have to charge it as it receives power wirelessly through the mat, which I have every intention of purchasing eventually. The feel of the mouse itself is quite nice, the sides are soft rubber and the top is a very smooth (but not glossy) plastic. I will say that it is a bit light weight, even with the weight in the mouse. It will take some getting used to as my G700s had a AA rechargeable battery in it which added considerable weight to an already hefty mouse. The mouse also has an RGB 'G' on it along with a stripe on the mousewheel. Honestly, coming from the G700s this feels more like a sidegrade or even a slight downgrade, but unfortunately my G700s was dying. Playing games like Overwatch and Assassin's Creed Odyssey felt as natural as ever, even wirelessly, which is something I avoided in the past even though my G700s was wireless. Overall it's a pretty slick mouse, a decent option for those who want a wireless gaming mouse.

the good: fast response time - Most home "consumer" users won't really notice, but gamers will appreciate how quickly the mouse responds to movement. Very fast, very accurate, and also highly configurable in terms of how sensitive you prefer your mouse. good battery life - rated at 35 hours with the default rgb lighting, closer to 50 without. comfortable/well balanced classic understated design - I'm not personally a fan of flashy design. This mouse has a classic look with just a touch of rgb. button mapping - using the Logitech G Hub software, the individual buttons on the mouse can be mapped to different functions/macros. usable while charging with included micro-usb cable the bad: no internal storage space for the USB dongle misc: - compatible with the new wireless charging mat (not included) overall: I am personally a big fan of Logitech peripherals, including their mice. This G703 Hero is no exception. Fast response, accurate, well balanced, and good battery life. I like to game, but I don't exactly like some of the flashy "gaming" style that some manufacturers go for. The understated rgb lights on the "G" logo on the palm rest and the wheel are nice touches. Easy 5 stars for me.

Hi Hunter, thank you for sharing your experience with the G703 mouse. I'm sorry that you experienced lag while using the mouse wirelessly. Sometimes you can put the USB receiver in a different port and that will clear the issue. I'm happy that you are enjoying the comfort and other features that this mouse offers. Please continue to enjoy it! Thank you for being a Logitech customer. Kristi from Logitech

Hello Edgar! Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your experience with the G703 LIGHTSPEED Wireless Optical Gaming Mouse. The mouse was designed for right-handed users in mind, hence the right angled shape it has. In terms of weight, at 95g (without the added 10g weight), it's in the mid-range of our mouse lineup. If you're looking for something lighter with a more standard ambidextrous shape, I'd recommend checking out the G PRO Wireless Mouse https://www.bestbuy.com/site/logitech-g-pro-lightweight-wireless-optical-gaming-mouse-with-rgb-lighting-black/6265132.p?skuId=6265132, which comes in at 80g, or even the lightest of them all, the G PRO X SUPERLIGHT, which weights less than 63 grams. - Mathieu from Logitech

Best gaming mouse that I own!

I have been gaming for 8 years and my son for the last 4 years and we both agree that this is the best gaming mouse that we have owned. Our number one reason why we love this mouse is the 16k DPI range. It is the most accurate and smooth mouse that we have owned. We feel that the dpi range gives us an advantage. We are also big fans of the programmable button that allow for custom one-click commands. Another definite plus is that it is wireless, it allows for much more versatility when gaming. We like having the option of having the 10g weight that you can easily remove if you don't care for it. I think that it provides extra stability. We also both like the hub where we can customize our sensitivity settings, buttons and of course the lighting. This mouse doesn't use batteries, so it has to be charged, but the charge lasts easily 35 hours. Overall, if you are serious about your gaming, then we highly recommend you get this Logitech G703 gaming mouse.

    Mouse works great, many options

This mouse works great, fits hand well (on the average to large size), easy to setup and has a lot of setup options available. Out of the box, the initial install was easy - it comes with a USB cord to link up initially and charge (no AAA batteries) and a wireless USB dongle for regular use (dongle stores in the USB cord, not the mouse itself). This install/setup only took a couple minutes. The setup options were plentiful You can adjust the color scheme/pattern of the mouse top lights (there are 2, roller ball, and main logo). They will rotate through preset 6 or 7 primary colors together or independent. They can 'breathe' or pulse colors There are many optional functions you can setup on the 3 Aux buttons you can setup for mouse controls of keyboard keys/game functions (as a default they are back/forth on web browser pages I noticed) The response is good and can easily be sped up/slowed down to your preference. It can be controlled through your normal Windows mouse controls or the Logitech control panel (more options this way) There is also a magnetic weight you can place in the base if it's too light. I would definitely recommend this mouse. I use it primarily for general Windows/Office work not gaming, but works equally well for either.

Middle click randomly stopped working with light usage after 3 months. I don't even use it much. Just click it to scroll quickly while browsing. Don't have middle click bound for in-game usage. Very strange. Never had this issue with other mice.

Logitech - G703 (Hero) Wireless Optical Gaming Mouse - Black This mouse is really made for gaming only. It is not for everyday use without the cord. It is rechargeable, not replaceable batteries. If used as a wireless mouse with lighting effects it has a battery life of 35 hours. Without lighting effects it jumps to 60 hours. As a side not to that. My Logitech M510 wireless mouse has a replaceable battery that lasts about a year. If you skip the wireless part and use the supplied cable of course it’s unlimited. The supplied cable is hi quality, clothe reinforced and 6 feet long. It does triple duty as a mouse cable, a mouse charging cable, and a wireless extension to get the transmitter closer to the mouse. I’m sure that last one is for a bunch of gamers all in one place, you want your mouse to get a clear signal. They state for best performance it should be within 20cm (a little less than 8 inches). It will however work well within 2 feet if there is no other interference. It comes with everything you need to make it work, including a weight to add if you want a heavier mouse in your hand. All adapters are in the package, very nice to see. The mouse itself is very responsive with 6 buttons that can be assigned to what ever you want for game play. You’ll need to download the G-Hub software but all mice really require drivers of some kind if you want to get full use out of them. The other side of that is when the wireless adapter is plugged in and the mouse it turned on, they just work as a mouse should. The mouse has lighting effects on the top and on the wheel. What’s the point? Your hand will be covering the mouse when in use. I just don’t get the whole big “wow colored lights” deal. Just me, you may actually want your mouse to have lights. The mouse will auto power off after about 4 minutes and 45 seconds. It wakes right back up as soon as you move it. To save real power there is an on/off switch on the bottom, a must have if you put it in a backpack at all. The HERO 16K sensor is easily adjustable, just a click of a button will change the setting. My bottom line is this mouse is great for gaming. If you want to use it for every day use you’ll need to invest in the POWERPLAY wireless charging pad, sold separately. It was very comfortable in my hand, if it weren’t for the limited battery life I would use it as my every day mouse. As it is, I’ll use it for gaming only.
