Poor build quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wheel itself is nice but the plastic quality at the base of the wheel is extremely poor. It is meant to clip to a desk but it did not hold. Would not recommend, especially not against cheaper/better options.

Horrible Experience
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sold me a wheel that did not go with the box, wrong serial #. On top of that the wheel was malfunctioning and that would not take it back because it was the day after 15 day return policy. Had to return it to manufacturer for a new one, I am done with Best Buy.

UPGRADE
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first racing wheel and pedal set that I’ve used in a long time. I’ve been playing a few different racing games with my kids on our PS4 using the regular controller, man things sure have changed! I might need to buy another one of these because now my kids are fighting over who gets to use this, no one wants to use the controller! This quality on this thing is awesome, VERY well built and the feedback from the game through the wheel and the feel of the pedals is awesome! It feels so realistic, and that makes it really fun to use. Everything was working as it should be on my unit and I didn’t have any issues, setup was easy just like I expected it to be, and we were using it right away. This has become a permanent fixture in front of the TV with the rest of the video games!

Great Wheel
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first wheel and first time using a wheel. Overall I'm happy, but expect so spend some time dialing it in. I didn't get a chance to test it with a PS4, but was able to test with a PC. If you are getting this wheel for PC gaming exclusively I do recommend you choose the XBOX version as there are a few more supported games then the PS4 version on the PC due to Microsoft Windows liking XBOX control scheme. That said setup was easy. Mounted securely to my desk without issues. Very easy system and the pedals have enough heft that they didn't shift around on my carpet. The cables have a good reach, so routing them wasn't a huge deal, I was able to position everything to be comfortable. Since I already have Logitech's G Hub installed on my PC for my mouse the wheel was seen immediately and ready for action. I happened to try a few different games and this the part where the wheel isn't as plug and play as a controller. It takes time with each game to dial in the settings that make it feel good, so expect to fiddle with the settings for the game you want. For me, not being a wheel expert it did take me some time for WRC 3 /Crew 2/Forza horizon 3/Grid 2019 to get the Wheel dialed in the way it felt natural and good. Again I feel as I use the wheel and learn about the settings in games and read more forum posts it will be a faster setup for newer games, but being new expect to spend about 30 minutes to hour per game playing with the settings and tweaking it to get it right. Once it is dialed in it feel great on the games, esp. Grid 2019 that fully supported "True Force" racing giving a feeling of being on the road. It gives you a better feel for the speed and the control is more natural if you drive a lot. Did it make me better at these games? No. Partly because I'm still used to controllers, but mostly because I am not the greatest at playing these games. But it did give me a greater sense of immersion in the game and feeling of being on the road. I had I think a bit more fun losing then I normally would. Overall the feel of the wheel and pedals is very premium and it have a lot of heft to wheel especially. This really does help in providing some immersion to the games and the fun. Now as soon as I get my PS4 back, I'll be able to try Gran Turismo, and I'm hoping the setup on the Console for that game will go faster now that I have an idea of the different settings and what I seem to like. TLDR: Great feeling wheel, if this is more for PC Gaming using the XBOX version since it covers more PC Games, but if you are willing to put in the time to tune the settings it really adds to the fun and immersion of the games.

My First Racing Wheel, tons of fun and immersion
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive been a gamer for over 30 years and have tried all kinds of controllers and attachments but never gave a racing wheel a try until now. Ive always thought it would be a cool and fun way to play and get even more immersed into a game and I was right. With the G923 its made racing games so much more fun and realistic. The build quality is amazing. Beautiful leather wrapped wheel, metal and aluminum with blue accents. Brushed metal with dials, controls, and buttons all in a very intuative location that doesnt take very long to get used to. A build in rev indicator front and center to monitor your RPM's. It just looks and feels awesome. The pedals have a perfect feel and resistance with accurate response. The wheel has great feedback and haptic vibration with its Trueforce technology that gives you the feeling of the road conditions that of course change depending on road surfaces. The whole experience was much more than I thought it would be. I was expecting a more realistic driving experience but didnt expect it to be so much so. Im not sure how it was all done, but its pretty awesome. And most games have adjustable settings specifically for wheels so you can tweak them to your liking. For example Dirt Rally 2.0 and Grid. I wasnt much of a racing game player before this. I mean before this I only had played a couple arcade games that had wheels and pedals, but now am looking forward to playing several more titles as more become available and supported. I think my next game will be a mostly onroad game like Gran Turismo with the insane realistic graphics to match the realism of playing on the G923. And now you can get that experience at home with your home console or PC. If you want to get the most out of your racing games this is the way to go.

Logitech Playstation Wheel: The Sequel
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Disclosure: I have owned the previous Logitech wheel for PS4, the G29 since November 2015. Review for people who have never used a wheel before: If you have used a controller for racing games and then decide to switch to a wheel, it’s going to take some practice, but it’ll be worth it. My previous wheel the G29 is sturdy and I haven’t had an issue in the nearly 5 years I’ve owned it. When you open the box for the G923, the wheel basically has all the PS4 controller buttons in the center of the wheel. The box also has the pedal base with the gas, brake and clutch pedals. I’ve used it on carpet and on a rug and the base doesn’t slide while using. Once you get inside your particular game, you can adjust the settings for the wheel. If you like a particular feel (stiff or loose) while driving, it can be adjusted. The brake pressure can also be adjusted. Review for people who have used a wheel before: The Logitech 923 feels exactly the same way the G29 feels and I love my G29. So, what’s the big difference? The G29 is compatible with the PS3 and the PS4. The G923 is compatible with the PS4 and will be compatible with the PS5 once it’s released. And of my current racing games, none of them support the TrueForce feedback, so I can’t tell you how it feels. Hopefully more games incorporate it and/or it’s available when the PS5 is released. In short, if you don’t have a wheel for your PS4, I recommend the Logitech G923. If you have a Logitech G29 and you don’t plan to invest in the PS5 once it’s released, then stay with the G29. If you have a Logitech G29 and you are planning to buy a PS5 in the future, then go ahead and grab the Logitech G923 so you’ll be ahead of the curve.

Great wheel but little value... for now.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you own a Logitech G29, stay put because this wheel is basically a G29 with loss of PS3 support but the addition of the proprietary TrueForce force feedback. The wheel still uses the same motor. It's still gear-based so you'll still get a slightly notchy feel when you turn the wheel but it's honestly not that bad in terms of sound. It's actually close to silent. But it's not as smooth as a belt-based wheel, which typically cost more than gear-based wheels (more on this later in my review). The wheel's maximum rotation is 900°, which is par for the course if you're into simulation racing. So you'll be able to turn the wheel 2.5 times from lock-to-lock. Most sport cars have 900° rotation or less. Older vehicles and family cars may have more rotation. The buttons on the wheel have nearly all the controls of a standard PS4 controller. The only thing that's missing are the 2 analog sticks (because it has the L3 and R3 analog stick buttons). The Square, Triangle, Cross, and Circle buttons feel premium and the d-pad feels great and precise as well. Perfect for menu selections. The other buttons feel plasticky and kind of cheap by comparison. The wheel does NOT come with a H-pattern shifter, but it does have metal paddle shifters behind each side of the wheel for gear shifting. The wheel has RPM LED lights just above the center cap of the wheel. The wheel is made of mostly metal backed by hard plastic. So in other words, the looks basically the same as the G29 with the exception of colors. The wheel is now mostly black, including the dial, L/R buttons, and the paddles. The center marker is now something along the lines of turquoise-blue. The wheel is covered with black leather that feels great to touch. When you're using the wheel on a PC, you'll need the install the G Hub software to get force feedback to work. I guess they install or act like drivers for the wheel. In G Hub, you'll also be able to configure the settings for wheel such as the rotation range. This is very useful for emulation gaming since racing games designed with controller play in mind actually have only a 180° rotation (because there's only 2 points of direction, left and right, with analog covering the degrees between them). When left at the default 900° for those types of games, you'll experience severe understeering. In G Hub, you'll also be able to adjust the sensitivity of the wheel turn; the intensity of the force feedback from the torque (i.e. the pull on the wheel when the wheels on the car are turning) and audio effects (i.e. the vibration from bumps); the strength of the centering spring; and the sensitivity of each pedals. You'll also be able to set and save specific settings for each application you add to G Hub to their own profile, which will automatically be used whenever you run that application. The wheel has 2 plastic clamps on each side of the wheel that are tightened with an integrated screw dial above them. These clamps are used to attach the wheel to most tables. The clamp's opening is 1 1/8" so any table/desk that's thicker than that will not work with the wheel's clamps. The wheel can also be mounted using 2 x M6-1.0 screws. The length of the screw will vary based on what you're mounting it to, but the depth of the screw thread on the steering wheel is 15mm. The G923 comes with 3 pedals (from right to left: the throttle/gas, brake, and clutch) and are made of metal, with plastic circle bumps within each pedal which I assume is texture for grip. The pedals are screwed on to the spring mechanism using 2 black painted screws, although the black paint wears off easily. I've been using it with my bare feet, sometimes socks, and the black paint on the bottom screw of the gas pedal has worn down to a dirty black-silver. These screws can be unscrewed the adjust the positioning of the pedals to bring them closer or away from each other. There are 3 positions you can screw them to, and out of the box they are on the center position. You can bring them closer for easier heel-toe shifting or further away if you have larger feet. The base of the pedals is hard plastic. The bottom of the pedals' base has rubber feet, although when I used them on my bathroom floor, they didn't hold well and would still slip. There's also carpet spikes you can pull out, which worked well on my low pile carpet. Just like the wheel, you can also mount the pedals. It uses 6 x M6-1.0 screws. The pedals feel great, with the right amount of pressure and resistance when depressed. I have some concern about the cables though. The serial cable for the pedals is kind of thin and built-in to the pedals' base. Likewise, on the wheel itself, the USB 2.0 cable is built-in to the wheel. But unlike the pedal's cable, the USB cable on the wheel is reinforced to prevent breakage. I wish they did that on the pedal's cable too. If either of these two break, they're not easily user-replaceable. The USB 2.0 cable measures 7 feet, however because of the design, the longest you'll be able to make use of it is 6'7". If you use the cable management loop, it will shorten to a max length 5'11" or shorter. Be prepared to use a USB extension cable if needed for your setup. I used a cheap one for my living room and it worked fine on my PS4. The force feedback will vary depending on the game you're playing as each game programs it their own way. I found the feedback good for the most part, although the stronger hits were somewhat annoying because it was this unrealistic rattling/hammering feeling from inside the wheel's base. Like something inside the base was knocking hardly on the plastic shell of the base. It reminds me of those corn popper toys that little kids play with with the handle that you roll it around with to make it pop (look it up on youtube). The only upgrade the G923 features that the G29 doesn't have is the TrueForce force feedback. At the time of this writing only 3 games officially support it: Assetto Corsa Competizione Grid (2019) Gran Turismo Sport iRacing unofficially supports it when you edit its ini file to enable it. The experience of TrueForce will vary depending on the game. TrueForce on Gran Turismo Sport was subtle. It's hard to put in words because it's all about feel, but the feeling running over dirt road felt more defined. As does going up or downhill. So it does give you a better sense of immersion. It just feels a little half-baked though. When the car is idle the engine is still running but your wheel feels like the engine is off with no vibration at all. Gran Turismo Sport still doesn't recognize the G923 as its proper model despite supporting TrueForce. The wheel is identified as a G29 in the controller settings. There is also no option to configure TrueForce feedback. On Assetto Corsa Competizione, the TrueForce feedback feels a lot more pronounced. When your car is idle, you can still feel the engine rumbling from the wheel. When you're accelerating on a straightaway you can feel the gear changes when they shift, like in real life. Driving over grass felt more realistic. When I turned off TrueForce, the engine rumbling while idle was gone. Driving over grass had a more generic rumble feel. The game felt more lifeless after using TrueForce. Feedback was there but it felt plain, like I couldn't feel the nuances of the actual environment or situation. With PS5 having DualSense with its new controllers, I can imagine those haptic feedback sensations would be translated to this wheel via TrueForce. But the problem is, I don't KNOW that. I'm assuming. This was such a difficult wheel for me to review because I honestly loved using it. Logitech doesn't help itself by releasing the wheel at an awkward point in time, months before the release of PS5. It has been confirmed by Logitech themselves that the G923 will be compatible with the PS5, but so will the G29 as well as Thrustmaster's line of PS4 wheels (confirmed by them on their website). Due to this awkward timing, the G29 can be had for less money. For the same price of the G923, the Thrustmaster T300 RS GT (which uses a belt drive) with the 3 pedals can be had. TrueForce is amazing when used to its potential, but it all depends on how the game uses it. It still remains to be seen how many games will actually use TrueForce since it's proprietary. And that right there is the $399 question. I get why it's priced that way. Every new wheel from Logitech starts at that MSRP. But unfortunately it doesn't offer anything to differentiate itself from the G29 aside from TrueForce, which is feedback technology that I see great potential with. But maybe by the time more games support it and have the best of it to show, the wheel can be bought for a cheaper price. If you plan to spend $399 *now* a better wheel can be bought. If you ever find the G923 at $200-$300 though, BUY IT. It's a great wheel and I love TrueForce. It's just too expensive right now to put all its chips on the promise of a not yet widely accepted proprietary tech (again only 3 games *officially* support it right now). And you lose PS3 support. With the G29 you'll have a wheel that supports PS3, PS4, and PS5 for a cheaper price. If and when more games support TrueForce and the price is still $399 then I may recommend it because loved the immersion and detail it had to offer in Assetto Corsa Competizione. I believe its implementation in games can only get better. But wait. Don't buy now (unless you fear of it being sold out). If you need one now, belt-based wheels that used to be $600 5 years ago can now be had for $399 and will also support PS5.

Entry Level to Some, Racing Nirvana to Me!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In January of this year the decision was made to jump into online SIM racing. I got the opportunity (I wish everyone could) to test out literally everything on the market due to a close friendship I have with an influencer in the SIM racing world. With that exposure, I tested several different cockpits, wheels, pedals, monitor stands, monitors, basically everything. I am going to surprise some people by some of my final decisions and what I am racing today. Time and time again I heard experts in the SIM racing world just breezing right past Logitech wheels and pedals to the "real" wheels and pedals. During that same period of time I found myself going back to the Logitech G923 for PS5 and PC. One of the reasons I kept going back to this wheel is because the G923 fit so nicely on the Next Level F-GT cockpit from Next Level Racing. Putting those two together just had a natural feeling for me. One of the largest selling points for the G923 is the "Trueforce" action when using the wheel. It replicates what you feel when actually racing. The feedback is just awesome. I only tested 5 different wheels and I am by no means an expert when it comes to SIM racing products, but I kept returning to the G923 because it felt realistic to me, which was a requirement for me to continue in this SIM racing adventure. Here is what I put together. Next Level F-GT cockpit. Triple monitor stand from Next Level. Keyboard and mouse tray from Next Level. 16 locking wheel castors from Next Level. 65" by 24" Floor Mat from Next Level. 3 Asus 27" IPS FHD G-Sync Compatible Gaming monitors (VG279QR). Logitech G923 Wheel and Pedals. Logitech G Driving Force Shifter. *Note* The 3 Asus Monitors were purchased online from Best Buy and they look awesome and it was a great price (I think they were $215.00 each). I also have a wireless Logitech keyboard, a wired Logitech headset, and two 12 button, button boxes in use. I only race on IRacing via the PC. Also, if someone is wondering why I didn't go to a higher resolution gaming monitors, I was limited due to using an existing desktop and CPU, which is a Dell XPS8930, which included a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, which handles the 3 Asus monitors quite well. All in all, I am very happy with my current setup. I've ran the flag up the flagpole for the Logitech G923 because this is a great wheel and doesn't seem to get the credit it should. It's not a direct drive wheel, but it suits me just fine and for $399.99 I think it was a deal!

Logitech Ups Their Game Again
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Logitech has once again stepped up their game with the next in their line of racing sim controllers, the G923 wheel & pedals combo (for PS4 and PC). For full disclosure, I’m using this with a PC rig, though I did try a couple of older games with it on PS4, which I have largely moved on past. This is definitely a step up from their previous rig, now featuring LED lights to sync with shift commands, as well as better feedback in the wheel. Honestly, with games getting harder & harder to differentiate between real-life and video game in terms of the graphics, AI, realism, etc., it’s awesome to see Logitech do the same with each new iteration of their control wheel. The feedback was firm and configurable. The sewn leather grip made this feel like a high-end car’s steering and made for a comfortable grip even during longer (or stressful) driving sessions where your hands get a little sweaty. The steering was quiet and didn’t have the gear-grinding sound or feeling I’ve felt on other wheels, quite smooth to play with. The buttons on the wheel obviously match those of a PS4 controller, but were configurable for those of us using PC. The HUGE addition is the new 24-position dial mounted on the wheel, giving you options for dialing in different settings with suspension, braking, etc., similar to the control F1 drivers have at their fingertips for changing track conditions. I also love the addition of the LEDs, as I mentioned above, for showing shift statuses right on the wheel. The lights were bright enough to see below your eye’s field of view without being distracting to the game on the screen. The pedals are just as great. I play in my home office, which is carpeted, and the retractable grips on the bottom held the pedals mostly in place during play, but during intense braking or clutch work you can feel them want to slip a little. But I think I am going to invest in a dedicated rig that the wheel and pedals will mount to moving forward. The feedback in the pedals is second-to-none, and like the steering wheel makes playing a game almost equal to the thrill of driving a high-end car. All of the settings are configurable (both wheel and pedals) within the PS settings, but for us PC users the G-Hub software gives you full control over the settings from centering strength to how far the wheel operates in the full circumference. Overall, Logitech has continued to up the game of reality in control, whether its with their aviation products for flight sim games or their racing rigs. This is no different. I would highly recommend the G923 if you’re in to bringing more reality to your racing sim games and want to go beyond a handheld controller.
