Poor build quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The wheel itself is nice but the plastic quality at the base of the wheel is extremely poor. It is meant to clip to a desk but it did not hold. Would not recommend, especially not against cheaper/better options.

Horrible Experience
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sold me a wheel that did not go with the box, wrong serial #. On top of that the wheel was malfunctioning and that would not take it back because it was the day after 15 day return policy. Had to return it to manufacturer for a new one, I am done with Best Buy.

I am sorry that you are having issues with the G923. This is not normal; the G923 is resilient to harsh use and will last you for years typically. For the same reason, Logitech G offers 2-Year Limited Hardware Warranty for the G923. So, feel free to contact the Logitech customer support team to find a solution for your issue or get a replacement. Logitech appreciates your product review. - Leo from Logitech

A Solid Gateway Into Sim-Racing
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With the Sim genre currently seeing a massive boom in the time of COVID, it’s hardly surprising that Logitech would choose this moment to release an update to their G92 series of force feedback racing wheels. The new model doesn’t bring much to the table to compete with higher tier enthusiast products that are out there, but offers plenty for fans of their current wheels to like. The wheel displays excellent build quality overall. Logitech has gone out of their way to produce a pleasantly tactile user experience with this wheel, and the hand stitched leather and polished leather delivers. The control layout is just close enough to a standard PS4 controller to allow muscle memory to guide you to each button, a necessity if you’re playing in VR, and the force feedback motors are tight and responsive. The pedals are also quite good, though a bit less interesting than the wheel. The accelerator, brake, and clutch all feel sturdy and satisfying to use. There’s no active feedback from them, though the brake pedal does feature a new progressive spring that gets firmer as you depress it to simulate the feel of a real brake pedal. You can also adjust the spacing of each pedal if you so desire by shifting each pad to the left or right by about an inch or so, though I suspect most won’t bother. Force Feedback is roughly what you’d expect from a wheel in this range. It uses gearing to couple the force feedback motors to the wheel rather than the belt drives that most other manufacturers in this price range use, which means you don’t have to contend with any kind of response lag due to the belt’s elasticity and the time it takes to fully spin up the motors but sacrifice the smooth, more true to life feel of the effect a belt can offer. You’ll find a hundred different opinions on this among racing afficionados but for my part I’m fine making this trade. While it’s true that just sitting in a room and spinning the wheel feels harshly mechanical due to the gearing, when I’m fully immersed in a game I stop noticing this almost immediately. And the ability of the wheel to provide instant feedback to every impact, slide, or ill-advised turn is greatly appreciated. Others may disagree, but I don’t think the fact that the wheel uses geared feedback should stop anyone from considering this wheel outright. Of course, the motors driving the wheels are only part of the force feedback that comes with this wheel. The big new feature the G923 brings to the table is TrueForce – an added haptic component meant to replicate some of the additional vibrations you get from a real car by effectively turning the entire wheel into a crude mechanical subwoofer. I’ll admit it was a little harder to try this out as full support needs to be built into the game’s engine and as of yet only a handful of devs have gone to the trouble of doing so, but in the one game I had which did offer full support (GRID) I was pleasantly surprised by how well it worked. The vibrations are only produced in the wheel, but they’re powerful. Powerful enough that if you have both the wheel and pedals mounted on a metal frame it’ll conduct them, allowing you to feel the car in both your hands and feet for a decidedly cool experience. Unfortunately, the fact that it does depend on the devs taking the time to incorporate the relevant APIs into their game does temper my endorsement of the tech somewhat. You’re definitely paying a premium for the feature over going with one of the other wheels Logitech offers, and with only a handful of titles supporting it at the moment it’s not hard to imagine that you’d be stuck in a situation where you never get to use it. There may be a time when TrueForce support is simply taken as a given, much like support for standard force feedback wheels is now, but for the moment I’d definitely recommend that you check the list of supported games on Logitech’s website to see the status of your favorite title.

UPGRADE
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first racing wheel and pedal set that I’ve used in a long time. I’ve been playing a few different racing games with my kids on our PS4 using the regular controller, man things sure have changed! I might need to buy another one of these because now my kids are fighting over who gets to use this, no one wants to use the controller! This quality on this thing is awesome, VERY well built and the feedback from the game through the wheel and the feel of the pedals is awesome! It feels so realistic, and that makes it really fun to use. Everything was working as it should be on my unit and I didn’t have any issues, setup was easy just like I expected it to be, and we were using it right away. This has become a permanent fixture in front of the TV with the rest of the video games!

My First Racing Wheel, tons of fun and immersion
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive been a gamer for over 30 years and have tried all kinds of controllers and attachments but never gave a racing wheel a try until now. Ive always thought it would be a cool and fun way to play and get even more immersed into a game and I was right. With the G923 its made racing games so much more fun and realistic. The build quality is amazing. Beautiful leather wrapped wheel, metal and aluminum with blue accents. Brushed metal with dials, controls, and buttons all in a very intuative location that doesnt take very long to get used to. A build in rev indicator front and center to monitor your RPM's. It just looks and feels awesome. The pedals have a perfect feel and resistance with accurate response. The wheel has great feedback and haptic vibration with its Trueforce technology that gives you the feeling of the road conditions that of course change depending on road surfaces. The whole experience was much more than I thought it would be. I was expecting a more realistic driving experience but didnt expect it to be so much so. Im not sure how it was all done, but its pretty awesome. And most games have adjustable settings specifically for wheels so you can tweak them to your liking. For example Dirt Rally 2.0 and Grid. I wasnt much of a racing game player before this. I mean before this I only had played a couple arcade games that had wheels and pedals, but now am looking forward to playing several more titles as more become available and supported. I think my next game will be a mostly onroad game like Gran Turismo with the insane realistic graphics to match the realism of playing on the G923. And now you can get that experience at home with your home console or PC. If you want to get the most out of your racing games this is the way to go.

Solid experience. Trueforce makes a difference.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pro: -Solid build and good driving feel -Force feedback feels good especially for supported games -Easy to place on desk -Pedals feels sturdy Con: -Trueforce supported games are few -Brake pedal is really tight -Pedals are at a steep angle for me -Base can slide on hard floor This is my first racing wheel and I had a good time playing with it. I tried it with a few racing games as well as simulators. As of this writing, there are only four games that support Truforce, so the only game I tested it on was Grid on PS4 and I could feel more varied feedback from the engine and steering. I can feel the steering wheel fighting me and when the tires are slipping. I also tried it on my PC with F1 2018 and American Truck Simulator, and while the rumbling was there, it felt more linear and constant like rumbling from a controller. The rumbling can get quite strong and would shake my desk and monitors. The steering was smooth in game and the pedals were responsive. However, for me, the pedals were angled a bit too high so I can’t rest my feet on the base comfortably to do heel toe acceleration. On carpet the pedal base stays in place if you flip the grip down underneath, but on smooth flooring it will slide. The overall build quality is solid. It’s light enough to easily put it on and off my desk, but the clamps under the wheel feels plasticy and too lightweight. Hopefully they last. The buttons work with both PC and PS4 without any hassle. On PC, the buttons can be customized with the G Hub software along with the wheel and pedal sensitivity. Thought it would have been cool to be able to assign keys to the pedals too. The steel pedals are strong and feel premium. No loose movement or jiggling at all. I’m not a racing gamer nor a car guy, but so far having the wheel made it much more fun. I have been enjoying playing sim games with the G923. The build is good and it performs without any issues. The Trueforce feedback really makes a difference, but more games need to support it. They said this will work on PS5 so I’m sure future games will support it. I think it’s a good entry if you really like immersive racing.

The wheel is designed to provide a realistic driving experience, with a high-quality force feedback system that accurately simulates the feeling of driving a real car. The pedals are also very responsive and provide a great level of control. One of the best things about this product is its compatibility with a wide range of devices, including the PS5, PS4, and PC. whole new driving experience.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love playing racing game, and have for 20+ years. started out with Mario kart. But, that said, I never played competitive. I always just played casual. So with that, I never saw the need for a racing wheel that is over 100$. I was given this wheel to use and try out, and man am I impressed. And I have not fully used the wheel to its fullest. few things I love about the wheel outside of games. underneath the wheel, you have the spot that you plug in the power, the pedals, and if you want a shifter that as well. it has a bracket so you can wrap some extra cable around. This helps with cable management. love that. The wheel has plenty of buttons which I love but and I have not even used all the buttons. There is a knob button as well as a + and - button. I would imagine the knob button might be great in other driving simulation games, like farming or trucks etc that might need some extra buttons to use. The wheel and pedals feel solid and well built. The wheel has a leather covering so it feels great in the hands. The pedals feel realistic. on the bottom of the pedals, it has a button you can press and it releases a foot (so to speak) that has small teeth to help it from sliding on carpet. The wheel has 2 mounting brackets (or you can mount with screws). the brackets you push a knob on each side so it pops out, adjust the brackets to the edge of your table, then as the knob tightens all the way you then press in on the knob to lock in place. have played hours with it and not have the wheel move. My dad used the wheel and he just turned the knobs and did not lock in place. the wheel after a bit would slide off. Once I showed him how to properly lock, he has not had any issues. its has force feedback which gives you pressure against the wheel. It also uses logitechs trueforce technology. Not all games use that yet. I hope some older games will update and incorporate that. But from what I have played and felt and tested. The older games that do not support it, when you hit a wall, drive on the dirt or edge of road etc, at times would make the wheel rumble but not really feel like you are driving on the rocks or edge, and at times would not cause the wheel to even rumble. But with trueforce, it felt like I was driving in the grass, or edge of the road. If there where bumps like driving on the shoulder, it would feel like that. Reving the engine would rumble to that, as well as shifting. It basically gave it a lot more realistic feel. The wheel has lights on the top above the buttons. Those lights would rev up as your RPMs went up. Nice touch. WARNING: when you plug in the wheel to power and then usb or vice versa, the last plug in wheel activate the wheel to calibrate so it will turn on its own one way then the other way and then back to center. I do not have a bracket for the wheel to fit in. So what I used for it was one of those old TV wood square shaped trays. The brackets fit perfect. and the pedals just fit in between the legs. I faced the tray so that the one leg that goes side to side was towards me. and I would put both my legs in-between and the pedals against my desk. a future that I am surprised logitech did not really hit on. It does have a double clutch for a more advanced control. Hard to explain especially being I dont use. Its not easy to setup. I dont use it myself, but later on I probably will more often. You basically hold both paddles and then I believe the L1 and R1 buttons. (the L and R could be 2 or 3 not sure what combo). then you basically use the +/- button to lower the clutch point. then you assign what ever button you want (like L3) so that when that button is pressed it fully presses your clutch in. So basically you press the foot clutch which only activates the clutch to what you set so lets say 1/3, then press the L3 button so your clutch is now at 3/3 (all the way). Then you basically start out by releasing the L3 button, then as you start to get going, you then release your foot clutch. I dont know much with logitechs other models like the G29, G920 etc. I believe this uses the same gear mechanics as those. The difference with this wheel is that they updated the circuitry inside with the processor. They updated the pedals as well. And like I said above they added the trueforce and the double clutch. I have always enjoyed my logitech gear. They have lasted for me so far and I hope this wheel will continue. The couple gripes I guess I would say, why not go with belt system? and why not add 2 more paddles on the back. it has 1 paddle per side that is long. could probably get those in half and make it 2 paddles per side. For now, I set on up as my handbrake. Find it easier then pushing one of the front buttons. Just used to a bike lol. But then that takes away using the shifters to shift. But if they added 2 more paddles, that would allow to use a hand brake and still have the shifter options. over all though, its a learning curve but much easier then using a controller. I find that I can be more precise with using the wheel. staying in the lanes etc. I also find it a lot more fun to use. If you are looking for a mid range wheel, this is one to consider. I enjoy using it, and my father in law loves using it on his ps4. I use it on a pc.

Solid performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech G923 is a great gear driven racing wheel. Logitech has taken an already solid platform in the G920 and improved it ever so slightly to create the G923 Racing Wheel. The G923 looks and feels just like its predecessor the G920 but with some slight color changes. The design and button layout is exactly the same. The real difference here is in the new progressive spring in the brake pedal (which I found to be quite stiff) as well as the new Trueforce technology that transfers in game data and sounds to the motors in the wheel. Having the feeling of gear shifting and engine revs translated through the wheel is not how you would experience things in real life, but it actually makes the driving experience with the G923 more immersive. I found the wheel to be very responsive when playing both simulation and arcade racing games like Gran Turismo Sport and Need For Speed Heat. And most games I tried allowed me to make changes to the sensitivity or degree of rotation of the wheel. For most racing games I liked to stick with 270° but for rally games like Dirt or big rig games like American Truck Driving Simulator and Snowrunner, having the full 900° is where it's at. I'm not a huge fan of the button placements, as they're not easy to reach without rolling your hand while driving, but all the buttons feel good and solid when pressed. The wheel is a bit loud with force feedback turned on, but not noticeable while wearing headphones or having the TV turned up. I just wouldn't play this if you need to be quiet is all. Overall I am very pleased with the design and performance of this wheel and would highly recommend grabbing it, especially if you can find it on sale.
