I bought this because I was tire of have so many remotes on the coffee table. This is one of those great gadgets that you discover the more you use it the more you can customize it. It basically revolves around "activities". You set it up on your computer. Then you download the setup to the remote via USB cable. After you tell it what equipment you have you then set up activities. Like Watch TV or Watch A Movie or whatever. You can set up a lot of different activities and will also run a Roku. So I have set up Watch TV. Watch TV wAmp (using my sound system.) Each activity you tell it what equipment you want to use then and what input to use on the tv and whether you want to use the volume control to work on the tv or amp or etc. Plus you can reassign buttons for each activity on the remote. Very cool gadget.

Download app, website walks you through configuration Specific to your equipment. After a couple three times tweaking settings, works well. Sometimes have to pick the device to control as it seems to lose track of what you're doing, particularly if you have an amp and other equipment configured. Great value for the $$$$. If you Have Comcast, BUY THIS!

Brings all of your devices and Commands together!

This is one great and handy remote. I got one for my parents and for my boss. They are easy for them to use and understand. If you do run into a situation where you are unsure, the remote has a help button that will help solve your issue. This remote is programmable for up to five devices and brings them all into sync with each other. If there is something that it can not find in its database, you can program individual commands from the original remote, and then you problem is solved!. It even lets you program in a multi- step command (for more advanced users) if ever there is something that requires more than one command to complete, but that's the great thing it turns it into one simple command! Love this remote, I would recommend it to anyone who wants a simple easy to use and understand remote!

    Best universal remote

This remote has got to be the best universal remote on the market for the price. It handles up to 8 devices which should cover 90% of the market. It shuts itself off when not in use which saves on the batteries. It doesn't require a charging base and only uses two AA batteries. If you're in the market for a universal remote this is the one.

Controls all our devices including a projector. Easy online setup. No need for tedious button-by-button programming. Nicely customizable. Second one we bought, with out hesitation. Now we have one upstairs and one downstairs.

So easy to usethis has to be hands-down the most user-friendly remote I have ever purchased. At the push of a button it basically does whatever you need it to do without all the frustrations that many of us have experienced in the past with our high-tech purchases.

Had 4 remotes to control Samsung TV, Samsung sound bar, Samsung dvd and cable box/DVR. Enter Harmony universal remote. Now just one remote. Had geek squad set it up and give us a lesson. It goes through batteries pretty fast (every ten days) but functionality is great.

Had to replace 3 remotes (puppy destroyed old ones) and this one does it all. Got on line and set up the remote in about 10 minutes and had it working all my components with the one remote. It took me a while to learn how to get to all the functions but my daughter only took about 2 minutes. It is easy to use and works better than the originals.

It worked! That would be the highest praise for this truly universal remote that was easy to program with simple steps. Then the WAF (wife acceptance factor) test came and she says it must have been designed by a woman not an engineer. Highest possible praise.

I have always used Harmony remotes in the past. Always easy to program and use. The only thing about the remote is that you have to keep the thing pointed at your devices as you choose your activity, and keep it pointed for a few seconds while it starts everything. It took a while to get everyone used to doing that. Otherwise you get the annoying situations of half the devices turned on and some didn't. The help mode is really handy for that problem though. It asks if everything is on, and prompts a yes or no on the screen. I found it useful to add a button on the activity pages for the correct TV input. People would usually stop holding the remote and put it down at the last second before it sent the "HDMI4" command to the TV. The back light is my favorite part about it. All you do is pick it up and it turns on, give it a light shake if it doesn't. My previous Harmony had a button you had to press but this makes it easier. The only reason I havent gone to one of the pricier remotes that are the "Smart" remotes that go through walls is because I already had my TV wall mounted. I didn't have to plug anything in or hide any wires with this remote.

I am on the fence with this product. It has definitely helped clear the clutter of multiple remotes which is a relief. The remote has not 'learned' turning on devices and on most occasions one has to press 'Help' and sequentially turn on devices. Also keeping the remote pointed to the devices while turning them on is a bit cumbersome but that is something which can be lived with. One more issue is - if you choose to toggle between devices on a preset function like 'watch movie' etc...all hell breaks loose. In this age of SMART TVs - a remote with options to directly access apps rather than going through multiple menus would also be good. Overall - I would buy this product since there are not many other options at this price point.

The Logitech Harmony 650 is an all-around very good universal remote. Programming using the Harmony online software is fairly straight-forward. Key is to carefully follow instructions. If you do encounter a problem the online support is quite good with prompt suggestions and follow-up emails to insure the offered solution was successful.

I have purchased this type of remote in the past and it has always worked well. We had bought a new TV and moved our old Entertainment center into our bedroom, thus needing another one of these remotes. I would always recommend the Harmony remotes. They are pretty simple to setup and can make switching between devices easier.

I purchased this because my some lost my Samsung home theater remote. The software was a quick download, I entered in the model numbers of the Blu-ray, TV and Sound system. Hooked the remote to the computer via the included mini usb cable and programmed it with in 5 minutes. Now I just need to keep him from loosing this one.......

usually universal remotes make me want to go out and get the manufacturer's remote. you're limited to channel up/down volume up/down, power on/off. the rest of the buttons don't do anything. NOT this one. between the physical buttons and the digital on-screen ones, you have access to the tv as good as an original remote. great buy

Set-up and programing was a breeze. We linked 4 devices and works great. We have been using it for a couple of months and it works great. Next step for us is to set functions(shortcuts) for each device but if its as easy as the device set-up we will be very pleased.

This remote does it all, and is so easy to use. It has a feature that allows the remote to correct itself, which is awesome. With other remotes, we have had trouble with the kids pushing a button, and getting everything goofed up! With this remote, you just push the 'help' button and it automatically corrects itself! It's amazing!

I like the technology built into this device. Takes a little effort to program and a computer is required. The time to prepare the data required will take time. You have to know the serial number of all the appliances you would like to control. Once you have this information you can enter the necessary data and the control works great

Actually does what it says. Setup was a little confusing at first but once I got the hang of it was intuitive. The best part is that it makes using Apple TV easy instead of that poor excuse a remote that came with it. Operation of all components is seamless.
