Best $100 I've spent on Technology in a long time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a 1999 53" Sony TV, a new Samsung soundbar, a 4 yr old Sony DVD and a 7 yr old Sony VCR. It took me 25 minutes to gather the model numbers, download the software, enter everything, and get the remote fully functional. It was a snap. The old remotes are now in the attic. I love this remote. I have had 3 buddies over who saw my remote in action and went right out an bought one. It works exactly as advertised. Treat it like an iphone without a case though.

Great universal remote...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this in my home media setup. It is able to control my older Polaroid LCD tv, an older Phillips DVD/DVR combination and even my XBMC/Openelec media PC with almost no issues. The really fussy among us may wish to reassign some of the button functions, but that is easily accomplished on a computer and then uploaded to the remote. My only wish is that it could hold more than 5 devices, but there is an upgraded model available to do that.

Works great with Comcast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this remote. I don't have a complicated system (Sony TV, Comcast DVR, and Samsung DVD/VCR player)... and this remote controls it all. The set-up was simple as the logitech website has you identify the devices you need to control and does the majority of the work for you. It is customizable which is a huge positive. You can organize the bottons on the small screen in any order you want (each page on the screen has 4 options and you are given at least 5 pages). These buttons can be set to be custom items that the remote doesn't already have pre-programeed. I set a few to be things like my favorite channels, my DVR, on Demand, etc... When setting your favorite channels, there are a couple of different websites that have small images of the TV station logos (NBC, ESPN, Disney, etc....). These are easy to load into the remote which makes it a breeze when I have people over who aren't familiar with the channel numbers. They can use the "favorite channels" button and then cycle through the logos until they get to a channel they like. The only downside is that they limit the custom button sequences to 10 buttons. Unfortunately my TV doesn't have a sleep button on the original remote, instead the sleep option is buried three levels down in the menus. I takes about 13 buttons to get it set so I can't program it with this remote. Since the sleep thing is the only complaint I have (and it is more of an issue with the TV burying the command as my other TV's it is more accessible), I absolutely love this remove. Just bought another one to give to my dad for Christmas. It's time he tossed out all of his various remotes and just used this one.

Good Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the remote. It functions well. It's a little long and doesn't feel quite as comfortable in my hand as my 880 does but for the price i can't beat it. It's a little more picky about pointing the remote directly towards the device than my 880 as well but i can deal with it....

Fantastic Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this remote for my parents for xmas and was nervous about setting it up because I'd never done it before but it was a breeze. I was able to condense 5 remotes into this one. Very easy to use, one touch activity to your favorite activities. My only regret is that I wish i had purchased the next step up model, the Harmony 700 because of the rechargeable battery factor. Otherwise, Setup is very easy, and using this remote is very easy

Great Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the remote. Best value I have bought in a long time on sale for $58.00. I can compare the functionality to my Harmony 1100. It in fact feels better to operate in my hand than the 1100 at $350.00. Programming was very easy in fact much easier than the 1100 and the software is very easy to follow and setup. The only small complaint I have is that when syncing to the remote, I got communication errors probably due to the fact that I have the 1100 also programming with the same computer. The 1100 uses a different software program and I think there might be some small conflicts. WIth that said though, I was able to get it to sync eaily by just unplugging the remote and repluggin it into the computer. The drivers are automatically downloaded from Logitech and then Logitech automatically tells you to download the software. Very easy and a no brainer. First thing to do is write down your model numbers of your equipment then plug in your remote to the computer. Follow the instructions. One thing that I can say is that Logitech has virtually ever remote known to man in their database and I didn't have to do a single "learn" programming at all. Overall I would give it a 5.0!

Brilliant!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this product because I was tired of fumbling multiple remotes just to watch a BlueRay with my surround sound system. Set up was a breeze with the on-line tool. Now I can do EVERYTHING I want with one remote! An added bonus is that it directly matches the Directv key layout. I would recommend this Harmony Universal Remote to everyone.

Awesome remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote works perfect for the man cave entertainment center which has 3 Tvs, receiver, and cable boxes with TiVo. The setup was easy. Hardest part is getting the model info for each of the component. Highly recommended for anyone tired of using 3-4 remotes.

Great price One button control Quirky setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this remote (on sale $49.99) because I was tired of wife asking me how to switch over to watch different devices (i.e.Roku player). After programing one button and you have everything turned on to watch or work what devices are needed.. The remote works great with Direct TV Lg blue ray and Roku box and Sony sound system.. The only thing I had and difficultly with was the set up. First thing you have to do is download software from web site, Direction say only to go to web site, The other thing that took some time was finding where the Roku is listed., It was under digital music player, I found this out by going to web support forum. That is the last place i would have looked. I had to smart learn a few button on the DTV remote all other remotes were fine. Because this can only do 5 devices my son will still have to manually switch over to play his WII.But at this sale price and wife doesn't play WII I chose this model. My wife loves it so I am a happy camper!

reliable and handy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.after reading reviews of many different universal remotes, this is the one that would be most functional for our family. controls up to 5 components; set up was relatively easy; has proven to be reliable (after 3 months of use). the clutter of multiple remotes and the frustration of figuring out which remote does what is gone!

I only wish it could feed, clothe and bathe me!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a TRUE universal remote; it will allow you to operate ALL of your devices. Just a few reminders: a) remember to shut down your firewall while it's downloading the info it needs, b) use the "Devices" task screen to operate everything and c) make sure all your devices are plugged in before downloading the codes. It comes with a 90 day free tech support with operators who are REALLY patient with people like myself with whom technology can be kind of intimidating. However, once you complete the initial set up, just sit back, point, and click!

Great remote BUT NOT RF CAPABLE
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The specifications shown on the Best Buy website that this remote is RF capable ARE NOT CORRECT!!! This remote will NOT control components inside cabinets. If you want that capability you will need to purchase an I/r repeater (another $25-30 bucks). This is an infrared remote and will only work with line-of-sight to your components. With that said this is still the best remote available under $100. Easy to set up using the My Harmony software that you can download from the Logitech website. You can set up multiple activities and it works great with Apple TV.

Cool device for a good price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing was so easy to set up. I have it controlling a stereo, cable box, tv, NetGear Neo, blu ray player... It's awesome. There's simple buttons for selecting the action, for instance when I hit "watch movie", my TV turns to the blu ray input, the blu ray player turns on, and the stereo turns to the blu ray input. This is a great thing for non tech savvy folks as it makes things easy!

Great Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this remote because i got tired of seeing 4 remotes on my end table at home. I picked this particular model because i only had 4 devices and it would control my samsung soundbar. The set up is easy but takes a long time if you want to change the set-up of the remote around. The only negative i have found in the remote is the batteries will come out if even slightly dropped.

Best bet to replace broken Harmony One
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After my son busted my beloved Harmony One I went online for a replacement only to find out it has been discontinued. After raging on the stupidity of building high end components that cannot be repaired I began to read all of the negative reviews on its replacement - the Harmony Touch and the suggestions that the 650 is the best replacement. When combined with a $40 Black Friday price it made sense as a stop gap even though the five device limit was less that the seven I had on my Harony one I set this up using the PC software that came with my Harmony One using the "replace remote" function and to my surprise all of my old devices and settings came over and I could still modify and change as before. The software apparently treats these as learned commands and even though it warns me I'm over the 5 device limit everything functions as expected #device labels, all commands, etc# I assume that If I every update my configuation with new equipment I may have an issue but this makes the best of a bad sitiuation and I cant complain about the price.

Got rid of 4 remotes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote was extremely easy to set up. The online setup is guided and very helpful. It found all my products with no trouble at all, even my 5 year old flat screen tv (which my cable and Bose remotes wouldn't). My end table is now clutter free! It even does a very good job of replacing my cable provider's remote as it has "guide" and "menu" buttons. I am ordering another one for my parents!!!

The Value Harmony
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this for my Mom because it was ridiculous how many remotes she needed just to watch things. She couldn't believe it when she realized she only needed one remote and one button now to make things just work. I have a Harmony One, so I was certain that the core Harmony functions would be sufficient for my Mom. The set-up is now web-based, which I thought was interesting. I would say that I'm pretty sure my Mom would have struggled with setting this up herself. So, I'm glad I was able to do it for her. So, just be forewarned. If you've never set a Harmony remote up before, it might be a bit daunting. But, maybe I'm not giving people enough credit. The remote feels good in hand. Nice weight, good shape. Everything is where you would expect. I did try out the Help function to show my Mom what to do in case things didn't turn on as expected, and I will say it's not as intuitive as on the Harmony One. But, she seems to have figured it out. I also wish the Activities buttons on top were set up a little different. I don't like the pre-labels on them, and the font is a bit small. I mean, what if you don't have a need for a "Listen to Music" activity? So, you have to remember that you set up something else on it since you're going to want to make use of all of those buttons. All in all, a great remote for most users, even better when on sale.

Wish I had purchased one sooner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the greatest universal remote that I have ever owned. It has so many features and options. I was leery about spending so much on a remote control, but it has already been well worth the money. You can easily automate it to turn on every needed device, and tune them to the proper stations/settings. I am very technically apt, but even I had a little trouble figuring out the software, when attempting to modify some of my buttons. There are too many menus and it is not always clear where you need to be, to change certain settings. However, once I figured out where the settings were, I was able to completely customize every single button, to do whatever I wanted, even on a different device. You can also sync it up with a different remote to learn the commands. I now have my TV, DVR, Stereo Receiver, PS3 (using the $60 adapter), and my Air Conditioner programmed using this single remote. Love it!

Almost perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this remote. Having a multitude of home theater devices with a different controller for each, and recently losing my (much hated) Dish remote, this was the end-all be-all solution I only dreamed of. It controls everything just like I wanted. But.. It doesn't work perfectly all the time. It does have to be aimed directly at my Dish receiver to work, and almost every time I go to turn on all the devices necessary for one of the functions (watch TV, watch a movie, turn on the xbone), it will fail to turn on something or change the input on the TV, so you have to press the help button to fix it. It literally always fixes it once I press the help button, so I'm reality I have to press two buttons instead of just one a lot of times, and if we're being honest, that's still amazing and so much more simple than having a billion individual remotes. So it's a solid win and definitely worth it. It's just not 100% without fault. But close.
