One remote to rule them all!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Instructions say set aside 45min but it did not take that long. Everything worked on the first try and was very easy to set up. Can't believe you can control the xbox with it and it worked with my old Kenwood reciever. Great product.

Pretty Good - 24-Month Life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second 650 remote. Button started wearing out after maybe 18 months, first just having to press harder and by 30 months several just didn't work anymore. After 3 years I finally gave in and replace my olde one. It's a decent system, not entirely foolproof so not perfect for people who aren't a bit techie, but decent. However, I agree with others: for this price the build quality should last more than 18 months. In the end the features must have outweighed the replacement cost: I considered buying a conventional universal remote for a quarter of the price of the 650 but decided to buy a second one. The same model from 3 years ago often got complaints about battery compartment build quality with batteries coming loose and not contacting well. They do seem to addressed that since then, but the buttons feel the same, so I expect they will start wearing about again in 18 months. We'll see....

Does everything I expected
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this on sale and am very happy with it. It works for all of my devices and so far I haven't found anything that this remote can't do that the originals can. It really has replaced 4 remotes into 1. I have a Panasonic plasma 60GT50, Motorola DVR from Comcast, Yamaha Yas-101 Soundbar and LG 200GB Blu-ray player. Set up took about 5 minutes and then everything was working. I love the option of the one touch button to turn everything on for a specific mode such as watching TV, it will turn on only the TV and the Cable DVR. For Watch movie mode, it will turn on the TV, Blu-ray and Soundbar... You can set it up any way you want to.

awesome product! one touch and it does everything
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It did take a while to get this remote set up and programmed to work with all of my electronics, but once it was set up I fell in LOVE with this remote. I was able to go from 4 different remotes, down to one. It does everything! controls my TV, apple TV, Blu-ray, and LG sound bar.

One button does the job!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great technology I never knew existed. Super easy set up, one button to turn on all components that are needed for what you want to do. Example, if you push Watch Movie, it turns on the TV, receiver and DVD player. So much nicer than digging through the couch looking for 3 remotes. I like how the remote will also ask you if everything turned on and if you say no (which happened only in the beginning) then it automatically fixes the problem for you. My kids thought it was a little more advanced though since nothing fazes them, I caught them trying to turn on the Wii by speaking into the remote! Maybe the next version will be voice activated...!

An Excellent Remote that is easy to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up this remote because I found out I could not replace my Kenwood RC-R0805. Witch I have had for almost 20 years. Thought it would take me a while to program and get use to but it only took 10 min to program 5 devices. That is 5 min faster then it took me to program 1 device in my Kenwood. The only problem I had getting use to the remote is the volume and the channel buttons. Kenwood is vol right and ch left and it is opposite on the Logitech. Everything else was easy to use. I have problems with the life of the rechargeable battery's. The remote lights up all the time you touch or move the remote if you could turn that option off I think the batter's would last a lot longer. Everything else was great I kinda wish I would of purchased a Logitech Harmony 650 years ago.

Excellent Remote - Esp on Best Buy's Black Friday
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great Black Friday Deal! Remote controls most equipment, except doesn't seem to work with old Yamaha tape deck (even though listed as a supported device). Initial set up is somewhat complicated and time consuming - log onto a website, choose controlled devices, enter sequence of commands used to control your devices .. But to be fair, I think it is about as easy as Logitech could make it. I'd say count on a good 30 mins to set up, and then you have to tweak commands as necessary. However, once set up - it works as advertised, and I find it easy to use and much more convenient than wielding 4 or 5 remotes. The only hiccup is that sometimes commands get out of sequence when others in the family start using the original remotes to control devices ... Stick with Harmony as intended, and most of the time it's a charm - or manages to sort itself out with the Help button. On the whole, highly recommended to make your life less cluttered.

If you have the time this is a winner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every time my wife struggled with the three samsung remotes: TV, DVD and sound bar, I heard about it. So I put the Logitech 650 under the tree as a christmas present. The setup wasn't as easy as some indicated but I did get the TV and the sound bar to work. The samsung blue player never synced up. I tired it a dozen times and with evey possible option. With tech support closed over the New Year weekend. I decided to program a different Samsung DVD player into the system. This system had a different model number. To my pleasant surprise it operated the second DVD player that was located in a different room and the DVD player that I was originally attemtping to program. Total; time spent on this effort was 3-4 hours. Given what I now know, I would still buy it.

Great Value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great remote, especially for the price! Easy to set up, and one of the few remotes out there that actually worked with all my components (nothing else has worked with Emotiva, and TCL until now). Highly recommended!

Very good universal remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 2nd Harmony remote and overall I love it. It manages my TV, cable box, and A-V receiver. The only problem I have is that I have to be in just the right position for all devices to come on as programmed. I've had troubles with the receiver not coming on when I turn my system on. The Best Buy technician came back out after he had set up the remote and the only thing he could figure out was a possible problem with the IR on the cable box. There are times all works fine, and other times the cable box or the receiver won't turn on or off. But, it appears that may not be a problem with the remote. Either way, I like only having to use one remote!

Trash those junky remotes and get a Harmony
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every device comes with a remote and I have a pile of them in front of our electronics center. The Logitech Harmony 650 was on sale on Black Friday and having seen a friend's unit I decided to pick this up. This was EASY. Downloaded the software application from the Logitech web site, created an account (not sure why) and then used the wizard in the application to add all the devices in my entertainment system. Every one of them supported: Sony tuner/amp, Sony XBR television, DirecTV HD satellite receiver, DVD player, tape player and more. Everything is done through the software program - and the results are downloaded to the remote. 100% of all functions that used to be controlled by separate remotes are now working with the Harmony 650. Very pleased.

Great Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my Harmony 700 with this unit. Cosmetically, they are identical...but the 650 only programs 5 devices (vs. the 700 6 or 7 devices)...and does not recharge batteries. These are not huge issues really, and the remote is still very nice, and very functional.

Nice remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Logitech remote. I had my last one for over 7 years and it is still going strong. I just can't update it anymore because it would not work with anything higher than Windows XP. This 650 model is a great update to my previous one. It was pretty easy to set up. There are a few features that I have not found with this one that my last one had, but I am sure with persistence, I will figure it out. I did find that the remote didn't have the Phono input as part of the receiver file it installed into my remote. I had to manually create that input. But, for the most part, I have not had any issues and it is a great little remote.

5 in 1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You can connect up to 5 gadgets to this remote. The harmony is pretty simple but if you are not a geek, you will have to call the toll free number and wait awhile to fine tune your harmony remote. It took me a couple of calls to get it exactly right. But the Logitech staff are knowlegeable and can even log into your account and hook up your remote while you wait. I cannot say that it works perfectly everytime. Even with everything programmed, we constantly have to hit the help key to get it to fine tune. We keep waiting for the magic to gel, but so far, it hasn't. The help button is used quite a bit

Why suffer, this is truly the answer!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Other reviewers have commented on the "WAF" (wife acceptance factor), and they are right. The nice thing is there is enough techie fun with how to program it (easier than tying your shoes) that you can enjoy the power of this remote. I kept the others as a security blanket for a while, however after a week of using it, I put them in the eternal resting place (back of my closet, waiting for a yard sale). The online system was very user friendly, walked me through the first programming quickly. After using it, I decided to move a program feature for my DVR to the small LCD screen. Within a few minutes, most of which was syncing the remote to the new program setup, it was all done and able to be used. A wonderful device. I know I said the buttons could be bigger, however it is very sleek and as with anything, once I used it for a while, I don't have any issue with the buttons.

This Really Works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I read all the reviews on the remote before I bought it. My wife was complaining that she could see the buttons on the universal remote we have now and that you have to push too many buttons to get what you want. All of the good reviews were dead on with this remote. I bought it on Black Friday when Best Buy had it discounts to $49.95. I had intended to pay $99.99 but was surprised when I went online and found this price. Even at $99.99, it would be a great value. The software was easy to download and install and the set up of your online account was also easy. My only issue is that I called tech support to be on hold for 26 minutes, only to be disconnected without speaking to anyone. You get 90 days of free telephone tech support and I'm sure I'll get my question answered, but that was more than a little frustrating. Final thought, BUY IT. It is logical and easy to customize so that one button does it all.

Hate that it took me this long to buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of those products that, now that I have it, I can't believe I didn't buy it a long time ago. My set up is a plasma TV, Dish DVR, Yamaha surround system, blue-ray player, and Wii. Going online and running through the setup process only took about 10 minutes. The setup process walks you through everything simple as can be. When done, you sync your setup to the remote. Unplug it from the computer and it just works. No more fumbling for remotes depending on which function you want to perform. No more pressing multiple buttons on "universal" remotes to do something as simple as turn up the volume. This remote knows which device is in control of what function. So, the buttons just work.
