We purchased this product to replace a broken remote and to cut down on the number of remotes we have. It was easy to set up and very simple to use. My wife and I are both impressed by how simple this is. We have had other universal remotes and this surpases them all. I would even use amazing in describing this remote. Well worth the money.

Once Geek Squad set it up and programmed the remote, it was easy to use. It eliminated having 3-4 remotes on my coffee table. Even some of my older audio equipment was compatible with this remote.

I got sick of manually programming my 5 year old Sony Integrated Commander. I bought this Logictech 650 at Bestbuy for $49.99 on sale. Got it home and within a half hour it was controlling my components. I have a brand new Samsung LED TV a Yamaha RSv 1500 receiver Samsung Blu-Ray and Apple TV. All are now controlled with the Logitech. The online programming could not be easier. I paid over $250 for my previous Sony remote, this Logitech 650 cost me $50. It's easier to use easier to handle and extmely simple to setup. I would recommend this unit for anyone who wants an easy to use low cost solution to having multiple remotes cluttering your living room. This is a very nice product.

When I saw the Geek Squad installer sitting on my couch with 5 different remotes that came with all the new electronic devices that I purchased I said to myself that my new remote is going to be so difficult to use. One the installer programmed each of my devices into the Harmony 650 and then showed me how to turn everything on and off and how to switch from the DVD player to the VHS player it is pretty cool. The installer even connected to my Netflix account while I left to run a quick errand. He is definitely the man. I had my doubts in the beginning but not anymore.

I got this remote as a Christmas gift from my son who said I was worth it. He's extremely proud that the remote is such a hit. I followed the steps included to download the software and then programming the remote. I made a mistake with the model number of my DVR. After fiddling around with it I found out I caused the programming issue so I fixed the model number and it worked perfectly. I like the help feature of the remote. It really makes troubleshooting why something didn't work as planned and then fixing it. If I had one negative comment about this remote, it's the balance of the controls and how it fits in my hand. When working the top buttons the remote becomes unbalanced.

I use it now for all of my devices. TV, PS3 (with the logitech adapter), DVR, Receiver, plus Xbox (which it can't really control-- can it?). Threw all my other remotes away-- only to use the old remotes for some super detail settings I need to do. Still figuring out how to make it super easy for my wife though. There has to be some device out there that will be wife-friendly. Dear Logitech, it's not women's fault that they are not so savvy on these things-- you just have to make devices that will make them patient enough to tinker on them. Also, the remote database is a little outdated. This thing could be soooper easy if only they have updated new devices on their online database. The remote can easily be customizable though even if your deveice is not yet there. It just requires a little bit of knowledge in setup. Overall, I love it.

    Home Theater's best companion

I owned an Universal remote from another company and paid a great deal of money for it. The programming was difficult, and the touch screen was too delicate. After two years, we parted ways and it went into the dumpster. The next day, after a careful search of other U.R.'s, I decided to hook up with the Harmony 650, and a fine choice it was. I was amazed at how easy the online programming made life so simple. It recognized all of my Home Theater gear, and then I had the choice of what order I wanted to turn certain devices on. Another great feature it has is the backlit keys, so nice when sitting in a dark room, and it lights all of the keys, not just a few. I also liked that it uses standard batteries instead of recharging, because one is unhappy when the H.T.S. does not turn on when already comfortable in a sofa.

I bought this for my mother and she loves it. The remote is easy to set up, easy to use, and my mom is extremely happy that instead of 4 remotes to work her movies and tv, she now has one that does virtually everything with the touch of 1 button.

Went looking for one remote to control our Samsung HD TV, Samsung smart Blu-Ray player, Comcast cable box with DVR, and Yamaha A/V receiver. My wife kept complaining that all the separate remotes and written instructions were too cumbersome. Did some research and zeroed in on the Harmony 650. Even though I was perplexed by the bad reviews mixed in with the good, I made the purchase. After about 30 minutes on Logitech's Harmony set-up web site, I was ready to give it a try. I was hoping that all of the remote functions for the various devices would be available. So far, nothing missing including the cable box menus. Some functions (DVR and on-demand) require a couple of screens, but I assume buttons can be programmed for those functions eventually. I'm happy and my wife is happy.

Great remote - Easy to set up and use

This remote was a terrific purchase. Once I added a receiver to my system the number of remote became overwhelming my wife who already could not get the TV on or movies to play for the kids. Even I was getting frustrated with remote switching that needed to be done. Now we can all turn on the TV, my 6 year old has no problem getting the TV on or the DVD player. The remote is so easy to set up, you do need a computer though - I would recommend getting a laptop out and sitting in front of your system while you set it up. Simply pop in your component makes and models, answer a few questions on which order things should turn on and what inputs and you are good to go. The 'Help' button comes in handy if you have an issue with a component on when it shouldn't be. All in all a great buy, wish I had not waited so long to pick it up.

I had 700 model before I dropped it and broke it, but now Logitech only offers this model as a replacement unless you want to step up to $175-$300 remotes, which I think is a little too much for a remote. The old Logitech system for setting up a remote was you would download software and then configure, but you create a online account and then configure through there. The website I think doesn't have the best payout compared to when it used the normal software, but still works fine. Adding devices and the step by step instructions is very easy to setup your one button controls for turning devices on. I'm happy with it

I have wanted a universal remote for a long time and finally decided to buy one. I did my research and settled on the Logitech Harmony 650 as the optimal price performer. The prices vary widely so I strongly recommend shopping widely to find the best price. The product was delivered timely. The set up was very straightforward. I was very pleased with how easy it was using the Logitech app. As I used the device, I identified a few things I wanted to change. I called Logitech tech support and the tech made the changes for me very quickly and proficiently. I'm a very satisfied customer and can recommend the Harmony 650 without reservation. Just make sure you get all your needs identified and settled in the first 90 days as that's when the free tech support ends.

Good remote without being too complicated

This is my first "smart remote" and the only reason I got it was that it was half off for Black Friday. With that said, it's hard to compare to other high priced remotes. I left an 8 in 1 Sony Universal from the last 5 years that served me great but was acting and looking it's age. The ease of setup was amazing. Even with my not so new components, the remote recognized all of them and gives me all the functions that the OEM remote gave me. I have an ~10 year old Sony AV Receiver, a 6 year old Hitachi HDTV, a 1 year old Samsung Blu-Ray and an older model HD DVR Directv Receiver. #p.s. All of the 4 color special buttons on the Directv remote works with this remote. I have yet to find one that did so this was a big deal to me.# My old remote only had glow in the dark buttons, so you can imagine my thrill of having illuminated buttons, and ALL of the buttons illuminated at that. I hate when only a select few are. I know, nothing new, but still a plus for me. The remote also has a sensor in it to when you pick it up or move it, the buttons illuminate automatically so you don't have to try and guess where your first button is. Not sure if that's anything new, but I liked it. I #and especially my wife# really enjoy the hot keys like "watch tv" and "watch a movie" to where it turns all those sepcific components on and sets the TV and Receiver to it's needed inputs. My wife hated that she had to change all the setting just to watch a movie. And the "All Off" button is very convenient as well. On to my bad: I do not like that some of the buttons #volume, channel, directional arrows# all click when pushed. It's irritating when it's quiet and you hear a clicking everytime you adjust the volume. The numbers and FF/RW don't click, but the buttons you probably use the most do. That's probably my biggest quirk. Next, when you hit the "watch tv" button, there is an ~15 second "standby" delay because the remote is making sure that all needed components have turned on and adjusted inputs. The problem is that during this delay, you can't do anything. So if you turned the TV off with the volume high, there is 15 seconds that you are stuck with whatever volume it was last turned off with. 15 seconds can feel like a lifetime when you turn the tv on in the middle of the night and can't turn the volume down. If somebody knows a workaround for this, please let me know. Last, my wife is somewhat clumsy, and drops the remote religiously. Well, when you drop it on the floor, the remote somewhat resets and you have to go through the whole setup process. Not connecting to your computer setup, but just the internal setup that is much like a walkthrough. It only takes a minute or so, but is just irritating that you have to do that just from being dropped from the couch to the floor. For the $40 I got this for, I think it was a deal. I think I would have been a little more disappointed if I paid regular price for it but really it would be personal reference. I don't think there is anything wrong with it serious enough that would make me want to return it.

I use this for my Samsung tv and blu-ray player, Def Tech sc-4000, Pioneer receiver and my xfinity Motorola dvr. It has a lcd screen where you can view and adjust EVERY OPTION your unit has to offer. It can be tedious to access every option your unit may have to offer, like my receiver has like 38 pages of options, but if you program it efficiently it is a breeze to use. It is not touch screen. It has buttons next to the lcd screen. I prefer this to touch screen. It also fits nicely in your hand and it's easy to get used to where the buttons are without looking at them because they are shaped different. And they automaticaly light up with the slightest movement or shake of the remote. Programming the remote from your computer is so simple that a monkey with no brain could do it.

This remote replaced multiple remotes that I had sitting around the house. It is great at what it does and the macro commands are really nice to have. The software can be slightly confusing when you are trying to do anything more in-depth but after a little tinkering almost anything you would want to do is possible with this remote.

I come from years of using the pronto remotes and I figured it was going to be tough going to something more restrictive. The set up was easier than pronto, much more integrated. Pronto has a lot more advanced customization options, but I can live without them. pro's: 1# Set up time. Pick the devices and pretty much go. 2) fits well in the hand con's: 1) With the numbers at the bottom, it can be tough with one handed operation #IE: changing to channel 300) 2) My son from time to time turns things off manually. The remote thinks it is to smart and when I try to do the one button to turn things on, it thinks things are on and only send a few IR codes. I have to do all off and since my TV on/off is not discrete, the TV turns on. Easy enough to get past, just can be annoying.

Our 1st Harmony Remote finally died and we were looking for a replacement. There were just a few kinks in getting the new remote to "learn" the previous settings, but overall we are very pleased. Hope we get as many years out of this one as we did our 1st!

The Logitech Harmony remotes are a must have for anyone with more than one device. This remote will control up to 5 of your devices regardless of what make or model they are. In the highly unlikely event that your device is not listed, this remote can actually learn the commands directly from that devices remote. That makes the Logitech harmony 650 a truly universal remote. I have used logitech universal remotes for quite a few years now. This is my 4th one. My favorite feature of these Logitech remotes is that you can program different activities such as 'Watch TV' or 'Watch Movie' and when selected, the remote will power on only those devices used in that activity. Overall, a great universal remote and way better than anything else out there.
