Does it all at a great price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First glance this remote doesn't appear to have enough buttons to work with all my gear-each of my remotes has buttons unique to that device, like "favorites" button on cable tv, "home" and "search" buttons on the blu-ray DVD, etc. but all of those appear in on the LCD screen with soft buttons, so I really can put away all of my other remotes. The online programming is easy, simply enter the model numbers of the devices and which combinations you want to use with each activity, as many combinations as you want. It also loads favorite Tv channels for quick access w/o using the on-screen guide. It can learn remotes from less popular devices that may not be in the huge online library. The quality of the remote is very good, with back-lit buttons that light up just by picking it up, and solid buttons that have a good feel. I am absolutely thrilled with this thing and recommend it to everyone looking to simplify thier complex home theater set up so that everyone in the home can use it, even the technically impaired Hey-this would be a great gift for your parents/grandparents who keep calling you saying "I can't get the TV to work"!

Good remote for most of what you need.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initial set-up was somewhat simple, but help me find out that I can buy an adapter for my PS3 so I can also control it with this remote. I love how you can create different "activities" so it will automatically put each unit on the correct input you have pre-programmed. Having to find the model numbers was a little bit of a pain for the set up, but well worth it to get the right configurations down. I have it set to turn the TV to the correct HDMI input for the cable (which is constantly on to ensure that any DVR recordings get recorded). I also have it set to go to the correct HDMI input on both the TV and the surround receiver and have my PS3 (which I use for movies) to automatically go on. I also like how it turns off other equipment that would not be used if I select a different "activity." I can somewhat use my remote to control my iPod when it is connected via the USB on my receiver, it is just that the directional controls do not work...and the directional buttons do not work on the set up menu on my receiver as well. I still have more tests to do, but overall I love how this replaced most of my remotes.

Good Remote for Everything Basic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote fit all my needs for the time I had it, up until I got a new tv and some other devices that I couldn't fit onto this remote. But while I had this remote I enjoyed the customization, to set different activities to a keyword, to set up favorite channels' button using an image from the net rather than name but the logitech harmony program didn't seem to like most images and images wouldn't appear as you expect them to #usually cropped or off center...missed this option from my current remote, not sure why they got rid of it#. During setup, it was missing at least 3 or 4 button options from different devices, some significant and in my case wasn't able to program off copy signal because the original remote was lost. It's was a long lasting remote, likely due to the simplicity, but would avoid if looking for something to get the most out of your set-ups.

Best remote ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this remote! I had bought another one a few years ago for my upstairs home theater. Best Buy/Geek Squad came and set up my TV, sound bar, blu-ray player, receiver, and cable box with this remote. It works great! One flick of a button, everything turns on or off. I would recommend this highly and get rid of those other remotes! I would have had to use 5 remotes for all of this!

It does everything you need it to do
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had 4 different remotes: LG Soundbar, 50 in LED 3D Samsung TV, Samsung 3D Blu-ray DVD player, and Xfinity Box (the new one). Now we only have to use one!!! The set up was easy, instructions were clear, and its easy to use. Don't Waste money on those $349.00 remotes, if you're like us this is what you need.

Complicated to use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband researched this remote as he wanted one remote instead of 4 separate remotes. It was fairly easy for him to program the remote. If you just want to watch TV, the remote works great, but if you want to access your cable box to watch recorded programs, it took me a bit of trial and error to locate how to access them. Once I was I in the list of recorded shows, I could no longer turn up the volume as the remote was now only operating the cable box. I never could figure out how to get back to the main screen to be able to operate the sound bar, TV and cable box all in one. For people who are not technically challenged by this remote, it works fine. But for me, I'll stick to using the 4 separate remotes. I don't feel this remote was worth the price we paid for it.

Incredibly irritating repeating help menu
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perhaps I received a lemon, but the remote control that I purchased had a multitude of problems. // A few things that are important to know before reading this review // a) This product review is unique because I 'understand' gadgets. I'm passionate and knowledgeable about a wide range of electronics, so these criticisms do not arise because of a lack of knowledge about how to operate or setup the device. b) The remote was kept in a clean environment, suffered no water damage, and was not dropped, except for a few under 1" falls from the couch. // Setting up the device // a) Logitech offers a mac version of the software that you'll need to set up the device. The software only worked intermittently on my 2010 iMac. It did not work on my 2010 MacBook Pro. It also did not work on my 2012 MacBook Air. It worked flawlessly on a 2009 Windows PC that I dusted off. b) The setup instructions are fairly straightforward. It walks you through a prompt to add each device. c) TIP: Before setting up the remote, gather all your Make/Model/Series # for each device you'll be connecting to the remote. Write them down on scratch paper. Why? Because I had to go through the whole stupid process about 4x before it finally remembered what I had entered. Imagine having to climb behind the entertainment center more than once. So...write down those device IDs....on scratch paper. d) The remote setup software couldn't ever seem to identify my Sony Surround Sound System. It also hiccuped when setting up my XBox 360. // Using the remote // a) fantastic backlit keys b) worked flawlessly with the Xfinity cable box and OnDemand c) BUT... the stupid remote never seemed to remember the configurations for audio/video (i.e. When you chose Watch TV, 1) it should turn the cable box on; 2) the TV should switch to HDMI 1; and 3) the Surround Sound should switch to TV/Video .... and that's when things became REALLY irritating. Almost every time I'd make a selection (such as watch tv, play xbox, watch a dvd, listen to music, etc), one of the configurations wouldn't switch to the correct setting. So then you hit the help button, and it walks you through a simple prompt to identify the problem: Is the TV on, is the cable box on, is the audio set to TV/Video. You answer yes/no and things work. Ok...I really just wanted a remote that would respond simply to a single "watch tv" selection or whatever. Over time that prompt began to eat away at my couch-potato sanity. // Later issues // a) After 6 months of moderate use, the volume button started to become unresponsive. By 1 year it stopped working completely. b) Just after 1 year of use I upgraded to HD cable, which required a new box. So the remote needed to be reconfigured...downloaded the software again, check, plugged in the remote to the usb doohickey....and received the "please plugin your remote" prompt...on 3 computers. Fiddled with the micor-usb input to see if there was a sweet spot, no luck. It appeared that the usb connecter on the device had failed. I came to that conclusion after trying a whole box of working micro usb cables. c) tossed it in electronics recycling. What good is a remote anyway that doesn't even have a working volume button. // Tips // a) Before setting up the remote, gather all your Make/Model/Series # for each device you'll be connecting to the remote. Write them down on scratch paper. b) Get the 2 year extended protection. Mine died precisely after the 1 year Logitech Warranty expired. How convenient for Logitech. Fool me once, same on you, fool me twice....don't let that be you. That's about the most bitter electronics review I've written in years. Cheers with your new remote.

Don't know why I waited so long!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the Harmony 650 on sale for $49.99 at Best Buy. This remote was so easy to set up. Just follow the instructions in the package. This one remote now controls my FIOS set top box, my Samsung 60" HDTV, my Samsung DVD/BLU-RAY player and my Definitive Technology W Studio Micro sound bar. Wish I had purchased this remote a long time ago!

Excellent Item to Have!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With all the TVs, DVDs, DVRs, BlueTooth Players, etc. it is good to have one remote that can control all of their operations. This device was relatively easy to setup. It is easy to use, but you must read the instructions until you get use to it, because it does so much for you, it has to be a little complicated!! But it has simplified my TV, Blue Ray and Netflix viewing tremendously!

Best universal remote ever!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your looking for a universal remote, look no further. The Harmony remotes are affordable, easy to use and are programmed online to assure that every command in you original remote is copied and available. The set up is great because you tell it what buttons control the volume, channels, etc. and they operate the proper device accordingly. On some models, if something doesn't work as planned, press the "Help" button and it will guide you through the steps to correct the problem, couldn't be easier. Not all models have this feature. Harmony has several remotes available so get the right one. If you want the "Help" feature (recommended) start with the 650. It uses 2 AA batteries and can operate up to 5 devices and most people don't have that many. The 200 and 300 operates 3 and 4 devices respectively but they don't have the "Help" feature. The 700 operates 6 devices but cost a bit more and is rechargeable (meaning "you need another outlet") . After that comes the touch screen remotes, very cool and operates a lot of devices but if you don't really need to operate 15 devices but gotta have the touch screen, then go for it. Check prices online and in store to make sure you're getting the best deal, mine was $15 less online, the great part is that Best Buy will price match their website. Kudos to Best Buy for that. So choose wisely young padawan but choose Harmony.

Another Great Logitech Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Already own a Harmony 1100, but saw this one sale so thought I would give it a shot. Set up in no time, and worked like a charm the first time. I love my 1100, and think this will make for a good backup remote. For the price, even though I bought it on sale, I would have paid full price for how easy it was to set up and use. While it does not have a touch screen, I am okay with that aspect!

Good universal remote for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good remote but we did have geek squad come out to setup some of the features we couldn't get to work right. We are silver members so were able to choose free visit to have remote setup. But once they were able to setup all the features we wanted then it worked great. Would recommend this product.

Decent remote, some annoying issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been enjoying the remote since I bought it in November. It was easy to set-up and dose its job. It helped the rest of my family who were overwhelmed by the receiver, set top box, television, and blu-ray player going all at once. However I have yet to completely avoid the "the tv wont turn on" phone calls from the family. There is 2 annoying reasons for this. One, I don't know if this is normal for universal remotes or not, but if I turn on any device manually (as in walk up and turn it on) the remote won't respond. I could turn everything on manually and the remote still will not change the channels. So then I am forced to turn everything off, and turn it all on with the remote. Secondly, it often goes into "tutorial" mode and makes you press all the buttons to get the remote working. Don't why it does this, but its annoying when you want to just turn on the television and you have to press a million buttons before. It does this kind of randomly.. Otherwise the latter two issues are not greater then the positive outcomes of eliminating 5 remotes.

Great remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was very easy to program and easy to use but sometimes I have to hit the help button in order to shut one of my electronics off but it might be the device and not the remote. Still all in all a great product and I'm planning on buying another one for another room.

Great Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. No more fumbling with all the different remotes and I get my own! My husband always has the remote and doesn't want to let it go. I ended up getting two of these, one for living room and one for bedroom. Had a little trouble understanding the programming in the beginning but once I got the routine down, very easy and works like a charm!

Just OK
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The remote will control your equipment but is a total headache to get started. The instructions will NOT work - do not follow them. Instead, go to their website and download the 7.7 software to your computer. Install the software and attach the remote. This process will work but do not expect it to be friendly or intuitive. You will return to the software and tweak your settings (several times) to get things running properly. Their call in phone number does not work. The unit does not come with an instruction manual. If you search hard on-line, there is a book but it is written from the standpoint of what the unit can do - not how to make it do those things. With hard work, you can get the remote working and enjoy having overcome the (almost) intentional problems of no instructions and no help.

Was I Wrong
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just knew that I would be making a trip back to Best Buy to return this. Boy was I wrong. It works great. Does take some time to set up. You must download the software off of the net. If you don't have high speed you will be there a while. It should come with a CD. After I set it up on the computer it did not work just right. All you do is use the help button on the remote and it fixed everything. Only had it a day so I don't know about durability. I did get the 2 year protection on it because of the kids. The only reason I gave it a 4 was because having to download the software.

No issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My "what's great" and "what's not so great" may seem to be contradicting but no joke it's incredibly easy to put in all your devices, it just takes a while because a website downloads everything into the remote, very smart idea! It works absolutely great though, it got every single button from my old lost Samsung remote all on its little touch screen, I like it
