I had gotten a previous harmony remote a few years back and love it. Unfortunately, I can't add any more devices which I need to do. I decided to get this remote as it can control more devices. The harmony software also allows you to transfer settings to different remote controls. When I got this remote home I found a few issues right off the bat. The first being that I could not actually transfer my old remote settings to the new one. The second issue I found is that the remote would not change the TV to the proper input after turning on in spite of multiple troubleshooting attempts. My TV has a warmup delay when turned off, and the remote would not account for that time unlike the older remote. Strike 2 on this remote. I eventually found a work around for the issue, but then I found that the remote would not change from one activity, such as watching tv, to another such as watching a movie as smoothly as I would like. Mostly the issue was in switching back to watching tv. One would think that the logitech harmony software would be able to resolve these issues. It asks intuitive questions. For instance, it asks if my TV defaults to a certain input when it turns on. My TV defaults to a menu when it turns on that I can select apps or an input. My old harmony remote was set to wait until the menu was up and then automatically change the input for me. Even though I've asked this remote to do the same, it will not for some reason. I have to hit the help button every time to get what I want done. Finally, if I want to watch a movie and then switch back to TV watching, the remote cannot figure that process out either. For some reason it keeps going to the incorrect input in spite of having to explain how my inputs are selected from the menu. I've attempted to contact logitech for troubleshooting, but they have not been helpful at all referring me only to the articles I already found on their website. I've also re-configured my TV default settings to see if I could overcome the issue. Overall, working with this remote has been a very disappointing experience. I will probably be returning this remote this weekend if I can't resolve the issues.

This is my 2nd Harmony remote. 1st - the set up was very very difficult because my Pioneer Receiver was too new of a product. 2nd - It drains batteries just as fast as my 5 year old Harmony Remote. I thought this would be fixed after 5 years. 3rd - My new Receiver takes so long to turn on, the remote doesn't send a signal for a long enough period of time to switch inputs. So if you want to watch a DVD, you have to press "Watch TV" until all of the devices are on, then press "Watch DVD" to switch inputs. 4th - The volume control is so slow. It takes forever to raise or lower the volume. The comcast remote is so much faster. Ironically my last Harmony remote would jump 6 decibals at a time. Harmony please fix this. Lastly - I spilled the tiniest amount of water on it about 4 months after I bought it. It didn't work for 2 days, now it works about 50% of the time. I am not pleased with this remote, and I am now online looking for a replacement for the $100 I wasted at the beginning of the summer.

It works great and very easy to setup. Just don't drop it.

Love this remote, while it may be the basic model from logitech, it works great for my particular device setup at home. Setup is easy.

Much better than using one remote for tv, 2nd for dvd, and 3rd for satelte. Very happy with this remote. Will add a sound system to it too.

Got this last week and I must say this is heaven sent. Super easy to set up, and super easy to use.

...which is most of the time. The setup was fairly straight-forward and I was able to complete it in a reasonable amount of time. It's a great remote, when it works.The problem is, I have a Denon receiver (about 2 years old), a brand new Direct TV HD DVR, and a Toshiba projection TV (around 8 years old) and the remote has varied success with the different devices. The DVR always works as expected. The receiver works (turns on and off, adjusts volume, etc.) about 75% of the time. The TV works about 30% of the time, first try. The problem with the TV is that the video in needs to be set to #6, HDMI, but the remote defaults to 3. I was able to program the remote to 6 and it works about half the time, the other half it reverts to 3. There's no rhyme nor reason to it. Also, occasionally it just doesn't come on with the "Watch TV" option. The remote has a "Help" function that automatically searches for a fix to the issue and 9 times out of 10 it fixes the problem whether TV or receiver, on the first try. On the 10th out of 10, I have to dig out the old TV remote to set it to the HDMI input. One of the reasons I bought it was to make it easier for my wife, but she'll never go for this the way it's working.

Bought this awesome remote on Black Friday, was worried it wouldn't work for all my needs, but it works great with all my components.

It was a quick and easy process to set it up and use - even with a couple of my older pieces of A/V equipment.

Purchased during black Friday weekend and was able to set this unit up within 10 minutes from un-packaging. The "my harmony" software is an easy download and the Logitech database had all my components. (Old Yamaha receiver that I've never had a remote to, Direct TV box, and a the LED Coby TV.) Once downloaded, if the code doesn't work initially the remote will troubleshoot with you and fix and save the working settings. Not only was the $40 worth it, the regular price of $80 would definitely be worth it as well.

Excellent mid-range logitech remote. gets the job done, easy to operate, no fancy bells/whistles, but efficient.

Easy to setup and use. Replaces many device remotes and simplifies doing an operation (such as watching a movie). Highly recommended.

I bought this remote for xmas.The setup took forever.It plugs into a computer via usb, and then you register it.I had alot of dificulty doing this.It finaly recognized the connection and worked.Since then the remote works good, but not great.I like the feature that when the remote isn't touched it turns the display off and then when you pick it up the lights turn back on. Dont drop it though, its very sensitive.

This remote combines all my remotes into one. I do not have 6 remotes that I have to use at once. The ease of use is wonderful.

The Harmony 650 offers all the power you could possibly need without spending more than you need to for higher priced Logitech Models.

The Harmony remotes are great products. Very easy to program and use. Once programmed, all other remotes never see daylight again!

I bought this Harmony Remote in the hopes that a more simplified remote would be easier to use. With today's technology, controlling more than 3 to 5 electronic devices in your home theater system is more the norm. I owned a Harmony remote and changing to the new one was very simple to change the functions and load the new remote. I wish it was rechargeable, like the 880. Very good remote and the price was great.

Pretty cool - easy to program with computer. Really nice to simplify to 1 remote.

My family and me really like this remote. It allows us to reduce the number of remotes needed to control the devices we have set up. The one issue I have with the remote is the number of buttons you have to push to change from one device to another. Granted, this is expected when one device is controlling five other remotes, but I wish it was easier. I am not sure about the battery issues I have read on other reviews. I am still on my first set of batteries and they are going strong.

This is great because now I do not have to change functions to operate different devices.
