    Great for the price

Finally, I have the ability to control all of my devices (almost completely) from one remote. The one touch features are a nice change of pace. No more 3 or 4 remote turn on and turn off situations. The remote has been a bit challenging to teach my family and if someone walks between the remote and devices while using the one touch, it may not turn all the devices on. Overall, I am thoroughly pleased with this purchase.

Love the remote overall. The issues with the DVR are really a non issue. I would buy it again.

    Fantastic Remote

I have been sceptical about "universal" remotes for along time worried it would take a degree in computer science to set them up correctly. This unit was VERY easy to get working with the software interface and it was out of the box and in use in less than a half an hour. The one button function to watch a DVD is awesome. Turns on the player, surround sound and switches all needed inputs with a single press. Very cool!

Exactly what I wanted and expected it to do

The activity concept is nice by letting one activity simultaneously control multiple devices to get the job done. For instance control the tv and cable box together to change channels and turn up the volume etc. It also knows how to control all the unique features of each unit.

    Get It!

One remote to control blu-ray; tv; xbox; stereo receiver; and logitech touch. Flawless way to replace multiple and often confusing remotes - but its real power is the ability to create easy to set-up shortcuts to watch movies with surround sound; music; regular tv; netflix, etc. and to to start up and set multiple devices with the push of one button. A unified command center for up to five devices. Better than expected.

not as easy as you think

I tried this remote hoping it would end me having to keep 3 remotes near me at all times. First it would not show up in my computer. No matter how many times I plugged and unplugged the USB connection. I could hear the connection being made but nothing showed. Logitech says to download newest software. Did that. Finally after numerous tries the software discovered the remote. I could not get the volume to work with Directv and my Samsung smart tv. I finally had to line up the tv remote and the 650 to manually configure the volume. It will not work the menu on the Western Digital media player when playing a movie. Forget about all other settings on the WDTV live setup. It worked with Xbox live. It's just too confusing. The screen, the numerous buttons near the screen. I'll keep the 3 remotes near me. Less confusion, and I know what works what.

    Most annoying thing ever!

I bought this to replace a 700 I had for several years, but finally reached its end. Unfortunately, the 700 - which I loved - is discontinued, so I tried this one. For reasons unknown, the 650 will reset and force us to go through the setup steps...ALL THE TIME. It doesn't even have to be dropped. We've had the remote not 2 months and tonight, it's forcing the setup over and over and over. I can't even use it to manually turn off the 3 devices it's programmed to control, it just goes through setup. AGAIN. I will be returning this piece of junk.

I bought this to upgrade from my Harmony 510. Found it easy to setup using supplied software. It handled all devices and remotes nicely, including special keys on my new UHD Samsung TV. I have this device tied to my media PC from which I play my DVD collection. Also allows you to program in your favorite channels right into the remote. Definitely an improvement over earlier models.

    Not worth the money

The remote works great in theory. However, battery life is suspect and the remote resets itself all the time. Used the remote for about 5 months and then turned it back into geek squad and got the 700. Going to give that remote a try.

Works great at first but then...

Worked great for about six months then it started having some issues. The remote itself would shut off every time I tried turning on my tv. So I would use my tv remote to power it on then use the harmony remote. Then it started having problems switching between inputs, and would randomly power itself on and off. I tried updating it, didn't help. I called logitech to trouble shoot it, it only comes with a 90 day warranty. To troubleshoot it I would of had to pay $10. Anytime a company won't stand behind its product you know its garbage.

A little more complicated to set up and getting operating than I thought it would be. Being computer and internet challenged makes it difficult. But once I got a handle on it, it was fine. Sometimes it is difficult to turn it of and shut it down. So I just kill the power to it.

Remote has problems with Sharp TV's

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I have used Harmony remotes for years. Replaced remote with new Sharp TV. The remote would not go to correct TV imput more often than not. I called Customer service and they told me to download different software and reset up all devices. The remote was still sending TV to wrong imput. Customer support finally wrote a small program to get TV to go to proper input, but we still have difficulty. At least they fixed remote so that when we hit the help button, the problem usually fixes itself. Customer support says that the problem is with the Sharp TV. We have to hit the help button to finish turning on system at least once a day. Customer support spent almost 3 hours helping me get the remote to work as well as it does now. I probably would have returned remote, but I had thrown away all the packaging because I thought we had it working.

The ability to control a multi room dvr

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

For multi room dvrs it is better to keep the original if you do not have a set top box. since the signal strength is poor going through walls and floors. But if you have a pc that hooks up to your tv I would recommend getting a tv card that has a ir extender included that way it will be able to control your dvr
