worse costumer service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After one year of use the back of the remote start to get sticky i never use any product to clean the remote was just wipe with some fabric. I call the customer service and they told me to take the rubber part out! A remote control that cost more than $500 with out parts for service?! Seriouslly?!?! I don't not recommend any remote control from Logitech. This will be useless in one year or you buy a extend warranty form best buy. That i extreme recommend !!!!!!

rather hard to figure out until you get use to it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.controls all of our devices with only one remote. It was a little hard to manage at first, but like all things takes getting use to. All in all, its a good product.

Easy Peezee
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a universal remote to simplify my home system. I was surprised how amazingly easy it was to program the remote - going from 4 remotes to 1. It was so easy - I should have done this a long time ago.

Great, when it works...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had two of these. Easy to set up (even for obscure devices) and organize in-line activities. Once one is set up, it is a breeze to transfer settings over to another one. It would get all five stars if the hardware was not so finicky. Both of my remotes had issues with restarting after 4 to 6 months. I would go to an activity and hit OK, only to have the remote continuously restart and fail to do anything. Apparently, the batteries don't seat themselves correctly after replacing them a few times. I looked on-line and found the only solution was to tape small pieces of conductive material to the ends of the batteries. Eventually, this did not even work, so I pitched, yet another, $45 paperweight. Both of these remotes have since been replaced by the newer, 10 device version, which I hope has had this issue ironed out. I would have gotten something else, but no one else makes this type of remote. Like I said, "it is GREAT, when it works...".

Have not set up yet, but!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not set this remote up at this time. I purchased it during the black friday sales for my basement home theater... If it performs near as well as the Harmony we use upstairs it will be great! Love our Harmony's.

Good but not the greatest
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really good remote but it doesn't work properly with my Samsung tv as the back bottom won't respond when I click it.

Amazingly Simple
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The only issue I have is the lack of being able to customize the buttons u want from your devices. Otherwise it's the best universal remote I've ever had! I love how it's setup on the PC then synced like a mobile device.

Good, but not great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a lot of problems with the remote functioning properly, and have had to shut it down by taking the batteries out several times. The remote is relatively buggy regarding the user interface. It goes through batteries relatively quickly, with moderate use. I recommend getting rechargeable batteries. It also lags quite a bit during use. Part of the problem may be my TV but both are only 2 years old. I have a 60" SONY Bravia TV.

Okay
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote eats batteries. I've had it less than 3 months and have changed the batteries 3 times. Also, if it should drop on the floor, it thinks everything is off. If you were in the watch tv mode, you can no longer control anything. You need to cover the end with your hand so that it won't send any signals to the devices and press watch tv (or whatever you were doing) so that the remote gets back in sync.

This is a great remote.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was easy to set up. That is why I purchased it. I only wish all the keys had backlighting. The " Watch TV " and the " Watch DVD " do not. It would be nice if they did. Other than that it is still a great remote.

Limited functionality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote doesn't offer any more than any other universal remote. The 5 device limitation hinders programming activities. You can't really re-map the buttons. If you only have a few devices, you are better off getting a generic universal remote as the low end Logitech models don't offer much. If you have a more than 6 devices, you really need a higher end Logitech model like the One or 900.

Great for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good universal remote for the money. Setup was a little wonky initially. Once you get everything sorted out, works like a charm. Fast and responsive.

Very Dissappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote works fairly well with my Vizio TV, Motorola Cable DVR and Roku LT. But it has a big problem with my Toshiba sound bar. Sometimes the "MUTE" and "VOLUME" on the first press but most of the time it does not. In this age of advertisement bombardment and inconsitent volume levels, these are very important features. I don't like commericals and hate sound blowout when I change the channel or switch to another device. Most times, I have to press the "MUTE" button 5-10 times before it works. Same with the "VOLUME" up and down rocker button. VERY IRRITATING!!! Some other aggravating things are that I have to press the "ALL OFF" button twice for it to work. And if I press the "GUIDE" button, then press the up or down button, it will jump two or three pages instead of just one. Also, when using the ROKU and using the up/down, left/right arrows and "OK" buttons, the "OK" button is almost the same level as the the arrow buttons so occasionally I hit an arrow key instead of the "OK" key. I worked with Logitech over the phone and they couldn't fix the problem so they sent me another unit. It does the same thing. I'm going to keep the unit only because it is too late to return it and I can't afford a different remote right now. This at least let me put the other remotes away. But I'll cuss every time I use the volume and mute buttons.

very fragile-easy to get out of synch.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice piece of equipment unless you accidently touch something you shouldn't or drop it off your lap. then it seems to get out of synch and the tv is on but only gives off black specs, the dvd player door wont open. Information overload from geek sq. Help button is only so helpful. How do I change it from internet video device back to hdv1 when pushing watch tv isn't working? Why does the tv go fuzzy if you accidently push the wrong button? OK Geeks- how about some help.

A downgrade from my last Logitech remote.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got this for our setup at the cabin (which includes an off brand tv that no other remote can seem to dial into) since I got tired of having to reprogram every single device there every time Grandma tried to play a DVD for the kids. Works ok. Manages to turn on the Ilo TV. Not unhappy really. However, about 4 years ago, I got a Logitech Harmony 550 (ish - based on online pictures - probably a predecessor, but it looks exactly like the 550 and still works great - so well I bought one for my parents and tech support calls completely ceased) I paid 49.99 at Best Buy on sale from 99.00 - note: it appears they have about trippled the price on that remote. At the end of the day, the 650 remote works ok, but its way way less intuitive that the older one, and less configurable and cost 10 bucks more (than I paid). They put in a little color screen to make it look fancy, then completely handicap it to the point of redundant uselessness - devices are reported by Serial Number - you can't rename it "Reciever" or "TV" (as far as I can tell, and I write software) You can on my 550 and it makes it much easier for Grandma to use. It would almost be better for most people without the screen at all in 90% of use cases. Get a Harmony 550 or 555 - especially if you have a Grandma that is going to use it. It's a much better value even at three times the price.

This was a replacement for the one I dropped
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It eliminated the need for separate remotes for 5 systems. One button control for initiating systems.

got it for 50% off, and still not worth it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.in a letter to Harmony, I wrote the following: I used the suggestions @: http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/16718 At least it does show the Red, Green, Yellow, & Blue buttons, and teased me to think I could program them to do what I want to do. But I tried over and over, and the remote does not want to learn commands for these buttons. It will tease me, act like it ‘learned’ a command; but after I let it update, the Red, Green, Yellow or Blue button did not ‘learn’ anything, and so, does not ‘do’ anything. Please know, your software is not that difficult to understand, it just doesn’t work. The Harmony 650 is way more time consuming & trouble than it is worth. It does just barely enough, that I almost want to keep it, but I cannot use it without having all the other remotes avail to do all the things it can’t do, so what’s the point? I'm only trying to use 4 things, a Comcast STB, an LG LCD TV, and a Samsung & Blu Ray player. It seems to recognize the model numbers, but won't do simple commands like change an input. It has extra buttons [red, blue, green & yellow] but you can't program them or get them to learn anything. Well, it does do most of the Blu-Ray commands, but will not learn 30 second advance & 15 second replay from the Comcast remote; & won't chg functions on the TV or the Stereo. Again, it is not as if I can’t follow directions; I worked for a premier Electronics company on the service side for 25 years. Sony had remotes in the 1990s that you could just indicate what button you wanted to learn something, point it head to head with another remote and it would “learn” it. The Harmony can’t do it without being hooked up to a computer, and it can’t do it while it is hooked up either. I just can’t tell you how frustrating this is. I would definitely NOT recommend this product to anyone.

A very easy to use, responsive universal remote.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant to purchase another Harmony remote after my experience with the 659. This one is a substantially better product. Button response, especially with the number pad, and layout are much better.

Once it is ready it works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nothing user friendly about their setup/programming. Kept losing the programs after updates. Kept having to go back in and do minor changes. Real pain to set up but once it is set up it works great. Will have to wait and see if it is durable. Reason we purchased this one was the 610 had # keys that will not work anymore after 2 years. My wife uses it exclusively because it makes it easier for her with all the different components I have attached to the TV.

This product is awesome.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We like this remote so much, we bought four in all to replace the existing remotes. It is easy to use, easy to program, and everything works just great. In our opinion it is well worth the cost.
