Re-Boots Constantly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 2 months, remote constantly re-boots. The first two months, remote worked great. Contacted Logitech for warranty replacement.

Okay remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Remote would be better if more responsive. Most time I have to press buttons twice or really press hard. This gets aggrivating when fast forwarding and try to stop in time. Sometimes you have to be directly in front of the devices for it to work.

nice to replace 5 separate remotes with just one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the top buttons are not back lit. And these are the first buttons you use. you have to have the lights on to read them and turn every thing on, then get up again to turn the lights back off or dim them. All of the buttons need to be back lit.

Not for Mac Users or Non-computer Geeks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my third Logitech Harmony Remote and will be my LAST. Previous remotes were difficult enough to set up using their custom software that you must install on your computer and connect to their web site in order to configure it (don't even bother if you don't have an Internet connection). It's not too difficult if you only use devices that they fully support. However, watch out if you have an Apple TV or anything that they don't believe is a common "activity". Also, with this remote, there was no software! You are directed to a web-site for setup, which starts off by insisting that you install TWO different plugins!!!! One of which is Microsoft SilverLight, which I refused to install on my Mac. Which meant finding a PC running Windows 7 in order to configure the remote. Having done that, installed SilverLight and the Logitech plugins, and trying to set up the remote, it gets to the point where all the configuration items are complete and ready to write the setting to the device and then gets a generic error message that forced me to call Logitech Support for help. The support guy was nice enough, but he could not resolve the issue. First he indicated that IE has issues with their service and to try another browser like Mozilla, which I did and got the same error. At which point he indicated I could just use the software I got with my previous remote! OK, so that worked for me (with some setup hassles for the Apple TV) but what is the next person going to do that doesn't have that software? If they still can't get this right after the many years of making and selling these Harmony remotes, I no longer have any hope that they are capable of resolving the setup frustrations. At this point it's working and I will use the remote, but in the future I think I will live with using multiple remotes, even though it's a pain or find another solution. Setting up this remote to be usable was simply not worth it, given the price they ask for them. I am even OK with using a computer to set it up, but to insist I install all kinds of software that will only be used rarely (when I get a new remote or other devices that require a reprogramming) is not acceptable to me. Especially when they want to force me to install Microsoft software on my Mac.

Lacks basic features for such an expensive remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a $60 remote, this thing lacks basic features, such as macro buttons, learning buttons from device remotes. This is basically a $60 waste of time for someone who needs a LOT of features for control of their devices!!!

Ok, remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My main problem with this remote is that the volume and channel buttons will freeze and then you have to turn it off and back on again. It does this frequent enough that it is very annoying! other than that it works ok.

Line of Sight Difficulty
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I previously had a Harmony 550 and I alone could not get it to work completely, but limped along using two remotes to turn on my cable box, my sound system, and my TV. The 550 finally gave out after about fifteen months. So this time, I went and bought this next version the 650 and the Geek squad set it up - which cost more than the actual remote. The tech set it up and it works, but is just appears to be much more sensitive to line of sight than the previous one I had. The Help function works, so i can get everything back in synch - it just is not an easy process for someone non-technical like my wife.

Loose Battery Connections Reset Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned two of these remotes. The first one I bought at Thanksgiving and it would reboot anytime I moved the remote. The reason is that the battery terminals wthin the remote are spaced just too far apart that AA batteries can giggle, losing their connection, thus resetting the remote. I took it back to BestBuy and got another one in early December and now this one is doing the same thing! I've owned an older Harmony remote that I loved, but this Harmony 650 is a terrible purchase, even on sale.

Died after ~18 months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote worked fine for about 18 months, then died on me. I replaced the batteries and it still does not work. The LCD screen lights up, but there is no response from any of the buttons.

Not up to Logitech standards
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unfortunately this Logitech remote control does not hold up to the more expensive models. I have other Logitechs and they work great. The button response on this model is horrible. Would never buy another.

Never Could Get It to Work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. She was tired of juggling a handful of remotes just to watch a DVD so I thought the Logitech Harmony 650 would be the perfect gift. Wrong! Setup is a nightmare and it never worked. I spent six hours messing with it never got close. Save yourself the aggravation. This thing is not easy to use, is a nightmare to program, and never did work for me. They say it supports more than 225,000 devices. Perhaps, but you have to connect to their servers and download the settings for your TV, DVD player, etc. Good luck! Most of the time all I got was "Server Error". Reading the comments on various online forums, this is a longstanding problem. When I finally was able to connect the program would freeze and I'd get another server error. I tried downloading the setup application from the Logitech 'support' website. That's even worse and it constantly froze and required a reboot to restart. I finally got bits and pieces to work but never consistently. One of many examples: it would turn the DVD player on but not off. That's sad because the same button does both on the original remote. Following the instructions I tried "teaching" the Harmony 650 using the original remote. Same problem. Another example: sometimes when it turned the TV on it got the input right (HDMI for TV vs. composite for DVD) but usually not. The 'help' feature kept asking if it was working now. Nope. You could get a cramp answering the "is it off now?" question. These two are typical of how I spent Christmas day. After more than six frustrating hours I finally gave up and apologized to the recipient. If you have four or five days to struggle with the Harmony 650 and are fortunate enough to own the right brands (and models) of devices you might eventually get it to work. I've wasted the better part of a day and the thing never did work as advertised.
