    Very slow response

I was hoping this remote would eliminate the clutter of multiple remotes. It is very slow to respond with the cable box. It also doesn't turn everything on at the same time like it is programmed to do. All in all I am not happy with this remote.

Had some difficultly loading all my components onto the device. I may try again when I am feeling more patient!

    Very poor customer experience

I purchased this remote over the holidays and tried to activate it on Christmas day, big mistake. Logitech's servers were down and it took 3 days to get the remote set up. There was literally ZERO customer support available, and the forums on Logitech website were slammed with complaints similar to mine. The fact that you have to download software and synch the remote with your on-line account is a real negative. Once set up the remote was not intuitive at all. Logitech builds their remotes to manage "activities" like "watch TV" or "watch a movie". It tries to control all you components associated with that activity at once and fails miserably. I returned this remote to best buy for a refund. I have since purchased the "URC R50" picked it up at Target for around $100. So far so good, it has been fairly easy to program and you don't need to get online to do it. Also, it is designed to control your "components" not "activities" (although you can set these up as well if you want). Bottom line, stay away from the harmony remotes and save yourself a lot of frustration.

    This aint easier

Honestly the remote works just fine. It is just no easier to use than my drawer full of remotes. It takes more time to navigate the buttons than I care for so I put it aside and will use it again if one of my old remotes breaks. Good replacement for lost remotes, bad replacement for existing ones.

    Writing this while annoyed

I purchased a 650 many years ago and it died after a good lifetime. Decided to give it ago and I cannot believe that the software is still a steaming pile of hot garbage. I get USB errors that are fixed by unplugging up to a dozen times. Wow. Great remote, frustrating software.

Hardware problems and weak IR emitter

Loved my 510 until the volume up button was sticking on me. Got this one home and the mute and previous button were broke. The IR emitter is weak too, must be in line of sight. 300 is the same way. The cheaper Harmony.s are poorly built. Gonna buy a more expensive one.

    What A Nightmare ...

I bought this remote because it was recommend by CNET ... OMG that is two hours of my life I'll never get back! I have never had a worse technical experience ... the ONLY thing it would control was my iMac which I did NOT want it to control. At least I learned how to disable remotes in the system preferences of the iMac. It would NOT use the proper input for anything ... watch TV, and I have a nice late model LG, it would stay on Roku, same thing with 'Watch A Movie' ... the correct input would NEVER come up. I tried to reprogram several times through their VERY non-intuitive web-site. Tried phone support, but was overseas and the English was hard to understand ... what a piece of junk, is CNET being paid off? My respect for both Logitech and CNET has plummeted ... hopefully I'll be able to return w/o a problem to Best Buy? So much for only having one remote. This is a LESS than one star product.

Unit was purchased for ease of use

Purchased this unit at the behest of Best Buy sales - wanted unit to operate Tv-Sound system & cable box so I would not have to have Spousal unit whining... Would not operate the Samsung sound system - would not "learn" as advertised - found the overall programming and features pretty poor for $80. Back it went...

    Awesome Remote...Bad Online Set Up

I love the remote but hate the online experience.....After multiple tries (a good 10-15 tries at least) I was able to set it up and it works great.....I'm trying to change some buttons currently but it wont sync. It is unfortunate that the online experience is dragging down an awesome remote. I am running Mac OSX 10.7.2.

    Absolute RUBBISH

So many problems where to start. The number buttons are so hard to press and get a response I just gave up and left it on the channel it was on. It has lag with every device. Forget about fast forwarding commercials on your DVR you wont get the play button to work until halfway into the next break. It must be pointed directly at the device, so every device must have line of sight. Ill save the batteries and throw this junk in the trash. I would rather use the 5 remotes that actually respond than risk throwing this thing threw my TV. I dont know how much they paid people for so many good reviews. Just remember Crocodile Dundee 3 had great reviews too.

    Not that great.

Either I got a bad batch of this remote or it just plain sucks. Everytime I use it, I need to push the help button to reset it at least 3 times. Then sometimes it will just turn my tv on but not my sound bar. I have it set up to turn them both on. Then I need to seperatly control both by switching the devices on the remote, instead of just being able to control it as a universal remote. Then it doesn't even connect to my Xbox and the app you download on your computer doesn't even pick up my Xbox serial number. What I intended when by this control was ease of use and less remotes. I can turn my tv and soundbar much faster and consistent with separate remotes. Defeats the purpose of this remote.

All Equipment must be in same room

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Logitech advertises will control all equipment you have and will buy. They neglect to tell you it ALL has to be in the same room. So if you have a DVR that controls a tV in another room/s, the logitech 650 will not control the device or devices in another room. It must have "line of sight".

The new web setup interface "sucks"

    Posted .

I have a simple system. TV, DVR/Cable, Apple TV, Powered Sound Bar. The "on the WEB" setup tool is poorly designed and difficult to use especially if you don't have the exact components that Logitech claims to supports. In the case of my Motorola Cable Box, which they claim to support, you don't end up with a usable remote even when they do claim to support it. For example, I end up with 4 more keystrokes to use a DVR functions than I did with the original remote. I spent "hours" trying to streamline the performance with only marginal results. The support desk was essentially useless. I suspect they knew it couldn't be made to work better, but they couldn't just say so. You would be better off just gluing your existing remotes together.

Very disappointed with this remote and the customer service received from Best Buy and Logitech. The remote is not very durable at all. The screen cracked on it within a week of normal use. Logitech and Best Buy would not stand behind their product. Buy at your own risk.

    Another Logitech Fail

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Did all my homework. Read reviews, checked compatibility with all my devices, everything should be good... right? Nope. Devices turn on and off properly but that's about it. Only about half the other buttons work properly. When you go through the software to 'fix' the buttons, they don't 'fix'... nothing changes. After much reading, I find the factory remote sends both IR &/or bluetooth signals and this remote isn't able to 'learn' from the factory remote as it only recognizes IR. *FAIL* I still need at least two remotes to make the TV function properly, which really defeats the purpose of a 'universal' remote. Going back to BB in the morning....

I have spent over 10 hours on the phone with tech support to get this thing to work with a common sony setup (wide screen tv, sound bar/home theater, dish network dvr, and blu ray player. Logitech's tech support in Asia made me want to pull out my own fingernails. and tier two support did not keep their callback appointment. After a lengthy internet search, I was able to make three calls and get through to tech support in Canada. Their tier two support has worked with me three times and the thing works ok most of the time. The IR is temperamental at 10 feet though. The on line documentation is an ugly experience. Bottom line: If I didn't live 300+ miles from Best Buy I would have returned it and gone back to using 4 remotes.
