Was good when it worked
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this remote two years ago for my basement entertainment center. It was very lightly used. A few days ago it just died. I replaced the batteries and nothing. I contacted Logitech tech support and was given instructions to reset the remote. This did not work. I was told they could not repair or replace the remote because it was out of warranty. I thought the least they could do was to offer me a discounted price on a new remote. Instead I was sent a link to their closeout website and told to periodically check it for discounted remotes. I will not be purchasing another product from Logitech again. For the amount of money I spent on this remote this is very disappointing.

Awesome concept, poor implementation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a Harmony remote for years, and received one for Christmas. 10 days later, I still cannot update/ program it due to Logitech's servers unable to accommodate internet traffic. Their free, 90 day, phone support is also not an option as you remain on perpetual hold (this is a toll call too). I have spent considerable time trying to set it up, and was successful once, at 5AM! Since then, at all hours, I have been unable to update the remote, constantly getting server errors! Their message boards are inundated with anger over this. I am torn between returning this item, or clinging to the hope that I can update it soon. If their support was sufficient, this would be a great product.

buttons wear out quickly.

My mute button is worn out, the button to wind the DVR backward is almost gone, the zero button is going. Yes, you can redefine buttons but that only works as long as there are buttons you know you don't use. This is my second one of these. The first failed for the same reason -- buttons wearing out. This was manufactured with low quality parts.

Harmony Remote

I have not been so lucky. It was confusing to set up and it still doesn't recognize all of my devices. I have tried a few times to fix it, but no luck yet.

Wrong Inputs, Months Waiting on Customer Service

I have a newer home theater in a box that cycles through the inputs. It would not cycle correctly. I called Logitech and waited with level 1 support for over an hour on 4 separate occasions. Finally, they submitted it to level 2 support. I waited about a month and received an email that it was fixed. I updated the remote, and it was still not cycling correctly. I emailed them, waited a week, received an answer, tried again, and it still failed. They had the model numbers of all of my devices and, after 2 months of work could not get their own remote to work. Not cool.

Good for the first couple weeks but then awful

This is the second one I bought since the first one broke the exact same way (I thought I may have gotten it wet or something that was my fault). The setup is easy and it works really well when it is full functioning but for some reason it constantly resets to the origional setup screen and you have to go through all of the steps over and over again. It is VERY frustrating and definitly not worth the money.

Waste of money

Not really a problem. However the remote tends to forget how things work. For example, when using the power off button it powers off everything but not my TV, using the "Help" button the remotes finds the right signal to switch off the TV. Unfortunately it does not retain this signal for the next time, so this is a procedure I have to go through every time I switch off my system. There are a couple other scenarious where it does not work. Actually thinking about throwing this one away and using my 4 remotes.

Works inconsistantly

Sometimes it will turn on all 3 devices for watching tv (tv, cable box, entertainment center), sometimes it won't. I have gone thru its help procedure for fixing the problem several times, but it does not stay fixed. Turning off the 3 devices sometimes takes multiple presses of the power off buttome.

Software doesn't load, can't use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have wasted about 2 days trying to load the software for Logitech Harmony Remote 650 (computer:windows vista 64 bit and MacBook pro 2010), but the dang Silver Light Plug In won't load. It keeps stating to uninstall Silver Light and the plug in and reinstall it again. I noticed there are quite a few people experiencing the same problem, and still waiting for answer from their support team (I am still waiting for an answer). It would of been nice if this remote worked but in my opinion, I will stick to the standard universal remote that doesn't rely on software.

Chooses the Wrong Input 100% of the Time

The Remote has failed to change to the proper input every single time I've used it. But then again, it's a Sony TV and there probably aren't that many Sony TVs around. A 100 % failure rate? I threw aways the packaging and now can't return the item, but that's my fault, not Best Buys. The "all on" and "all off" functions work great but then so did the same functions on my DirecTV remote which i had hoped to replace with the Harmony 650.

This is useless junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This device worked initially, but was inconsistent, usually failing to perform intended operation, and requiring numerous menus and key strokes to do what it was supposed to do seamlessly. And that was at its best. Later it forgot everything. Logitech customer support was fairly responsive, but ultimately useless as well, suggesting change batteries, and start over with elaborate programming process - neither of which fixed anything. Junk!

I bought this model with expectations of the same performance.......wrong!! This remote gets the right devices turned to the right setting maybe 25% of the time. I have no idea why, but it just doesn't work as it is supposed to the majority of the time.

This remote is garbage

Called cust service and they fixed it for 1 more month than stopped working again. For an $85 remote that pretty weak. will say that best buy is working with me that they will allow me to exchange it for another remote even though it outside the return period. I will not be exchanging for logitech product. Very disappointed.

Not that easy to set up from MAC

I had to import Firefox Mozilla as a browser to even get the online install download to work on my MAC. Then I signed into a MyHarmony App provided and then nothing. You need to program each of your devices to get the remote to sync. I could not get access to the program page on My Harmony. This product not very user friendly for Mac Users.

expensive, poor quality

After a few days I wanted to refine the activities but that was not possible as the software does not go beyond the simple set-up. the unit required constant re-booting. it was slow. it does not work with roku 2. it never changed inputs correctly despite many hours online working with their software and tech support that was disinterested at best. I've owned it about 6 months and now it doesn't work at all.
