This is my second Harmony 650 remote and was purchased on sale at the end of the year as a backup in case the other one dies (it's been dropped). I have recommended this remote to several friends as the "just right" solution for controlling a system with multiple components, giving you easy control of your entertainment while having access to detailed functions for those who understand them. It allows anyone in our family to easily use our system to watch TV, stream a movie, listen to music, or play a blu-ray. For better or worse, my kids could control the system easily before they were 5 years old, numerous babysitters have had no problems, and my parents can use it as well. I find the fixed, hard buttons for volume, channel, play/pause and other key functions more convenient than virtual buttons, especially while watching a movie. Both the tactile feel and quickness for these functions serves them well over waiting for a screen to wake up on touch-screen remote. The key layout is very good with the buttons falling in thumb reach with the remote in had. The soft buttons at the top of the remote are fully programmable and can be re-named. I programmed them for settings that I use often that would otherwise be buried in menus on the TV or receiver. PROGRAMMING Programming the remote is pretty straight forward. For each activity, it asks you what equipment to turn on and what device should control the volume as well as what inputs to use on the receiver and TV - it programs the rest. If you want to go further, you can program a series events (macros). The included remote codes have included all the equipment we have ever used, but it will also learn commands from old or odd IR remotes. LONG-TERM USE We've had our first Harmony 650 remote for 6 years and it is working well even after many drops onto hardwood floor. Over the years, I have upgraded or changed components (dvd players, streaming devices, cable boxes) and the remote has made this seamless in actual use. It's possible that nobody noticed when I updated the Roku streaming box. PLAYSTATION 3 CONTROL We have the Harmony adapter that allows for IR control of the PS3, which was very convenient when we used it as the primary streaming device. Not sure if this is still available. COMPONENTS in USE We use this remote to control: 7.2 channel receiver, TV, cable box, Roku 2, blu-ray, lighting, PlayStation 3 (with separate Harmony adapter)

Works very wel, has some helpful features- like the 'help' button. Small buttons are hard to read, so until you get used to which buttons are which, it' a little difficult.

I purchased this when I got our Smart TV because I was not sure how to do everything. The Geek Squad explained that if something wasn't working just ask for help on this device. He demonstrated it and sold me right then and there. We use it all the time!!!! Only negative is in my opinion is the batteries run out rather fast, but maybe I need to give it another set as possibly the batteries that it came with were old. Not sure which is the case!!

It is wonderful to have only one remote. We are able to figure out most features of it. I wish we had a paper copy of the user guide. It is hard to remember everything the technicians told us at installation later when we wish to do an activity for the first time.

This replaced an old Harmony 550. We have had several of the 550s, an 880, a Harmony Hub, and a 750. This appears to be as good as the previous models. The Hub was more frustrating than the others, kept losing connection with the remote.

It's easy to use and once you figure out a few gotchas it's great. Problem I had was that I my TV would automatically turn on my soundbar, and when the remote would try to turn it on, it would toggle power so it would turn right off. Had to rearrange the commands to turn the soundbar on first and now it works great. A little annoyance during setting it up was also that the remote expected all devices to be turned off after you synced it with your computer, so the power settings would be backwards when testing updates. Now that its all set up everything works great and the HELP button is amazing at fixing issues.

Had it out of the box, set up and working like I wanted within 10 minutes. Logitech Harmony remotes are fantastic. Can;t figure out why anybody would use anything else.

This remote really helps when connecting several devices through a receiver. With the activities buttons it only takes a few clicks to turn on all of your devices and tune each device to the correct input. Setup via PC was quick and easy. The only downsides are that it does not work on game systems (but can set everything else to the correct input) and the remote can't be used for a few seconds after hitting an activity button.

remote works well, especially for the price. there are better remotes out there but for the price, its good

This remote is great. It works perfect with our smart tv, cable box and DVD player. Easy to use and I love having one remote to work everything!

I got this remote to use with a new tv, cable box, blu-ray player, and sound bar. I have always just used the remote that came with my cable box as a universal however the cable box remote wouldn't control my new sound bar. I found that the set up was fairly easy however to get the remote just right requires a lot of tinkering and planning with the online software. I ended up returning the item and the sound bar and got a new sound bar that worked better with my TV and the cable box remote.

I was not so sure about this but the sales guy said try it, you'll love it and he was right. I gathered all the info requested then went online and typed in the request info with my wiring set-up and it did all the programming for me. Went over to TV and everything worked, TV, DVD, Home Theater Receiver and Cable Box. Best of all, it only turns on what you need, if i select TV then it turns on TV, Home Theater and Cable Box. If I select music it only turns on the Home Theater Receiver. Well worth the money. My wife loves just being able to use only one remote, she hated it before when we had 3 to use.

I have owned touchscreen universal remotes in the past like the Philips Pronto. Given all of the pain I went through to set that up and maintain it, I was amazed at how much simpler and more capable the Logitech Harmony 650 was. The online set up walks you through the process step-by-step and virtually foolproof. Even better, there is a very intelligent Help function that is a life-saver when devices within an activity get out of synch. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it can even handle activities related to gaming consoles like the Xbox One and Xbox 360. This is a really great remote.

This is a great device. I no longer need to keep a pile remotes to control my entertainment setup. Customizable buttons are an excellent feature.

This very easy to set-up, works very well. It was also able to control my samsung speaker which I wasn't able to do with the other universal remote that I tried before.

This remote is perfect for controlling everything at once. And it's under $100. I can control my TV, DVR, DVD, Soundbar, and Roku 3 all at the same time.

We have had a harmony remote for as long as I can remember. The only thing I didn't like is this one takes batteries instead of having a charger. It does seem to work the same as the others though

Totally pleased with using this smart remote. Previous universal remotes always left me unsatisfied, but this one does it all and it's really easy to utilize. Don't waste time or money on any other universal remote. This is the one! Could not be any happier.

This remote did exactly what it said it would do. Was purchased because I went to the new contour 2 from cox. The new system does not have a universal remote like the gen 1. After purchasing and setting up the remote did not connect to cox. I ended up return it because it would not do what I wanted. Only to find out that cox is repurposing it's old boxes with new hardware. The remote worked for the old stuff. If only I knew what the real model # was I would have kept it. Other than that did exactly what it said it would do and probably will be buying it again.

This is the first all in one remote we have had that truly is all in one. We run 5 devices off it. It was a challenge learning how to use it but now it is a breeze
