I bought this remote to use with a Sony A80J TV combined with a Directv Genie DVR. You CAN program the A80J remote to work with the Genie, but there are a few functions that you can't copy over to the Sony remote, plus the Sony remote is quite awkward to hold. I have a Harmony One remote in another part of the house and frankly I like the feel of the One better that the 665. The 665 is a bit clunkier in the hand. Function wise, you can customize the buttons to do pretty much whatever you need. I cannot use my Harmony One app already loaded on my computer to program the 665- you need to download its own app, and I seemed to have trouble finding the right app. Oh, and you can't use the voice command for the Google TV apps built into the TV that was part of the Sony remote.

I have used every remote that Logitech has released. Forget the incredible price, this one is my favorite. I am a hard button guy so this one blows the Touch away. Anyone with a Samsung "smart" tv should toss their dumb remote and just buy one of these.

One push of a button turns on my TV, stereo, cable and DVD. Love the simplicity, of this. One remote vs 4 or more. It does sometimes have trouble connecting with the cable but the help button resets the signal and all is good in the technology world.

Over the years I have used and programmed a lot of Harmony remotes. My favorite model was the Harmony One but it was discontinued years ago. The main feature I love on Harmony's is the Help button. It will resend the discrete commands and many times will fix the problem immediately. If not it walks the customer through step by step. My complaints are the select (OK) button is very small, people with medium to large size fingers have trouble with it, but you can assign it to a different button or have it appear in the window. I recommend changing batteries every 8 months (2 AA), when they get old the remote is unreliable. I wish I could reorder activities that appear in the window like I could with the One, the dedicated buttons at the top are hard to read, so I show customers the "More Activities" button. Overall, it is a winner for it's low price and will allow the customer to put half a dozen remotes in the drawer. Note it does not support Bluetooth, only Infared (IR) products. So you can control an Apple TV, 3 models of Roku, but not a Firestick.

Easy to program and use and it was a life saver. I didn't have to search for multiple remotes and I could control all my devices with it.

I had a five year old model similar to this one that finally died...some of the buttons quit working. This one works better, and I think for the price an excellent buy. Only need to control TV, AVR, Cable box and audio, and it does the trick.

My initial review yesterday reflected my frustration, as the remote was not as easy to set up as I had been led to believe by Logitech's description. Even though my DVR was listed in their database, it would not turn on, no matter what I tried. I ended up "teaching" the Logitech manually by pointing my cable company's remote and the new Logitech remote toward one another and pressing the buttons for the commands I wanted it to learn. I reached out to Logitech via Twitter and quickly received a response providing me with a telephone number for a Harmony Remote Tech Support person who was a great deal of help. She knew exactly what my issue was and told me what I needed to do, and it worked. I was unable to teach the new remote a command for displaying my recorded programs, but she showed me how to toggle the illuminated display screen to the command which appeared on its second page. I am happy now with the way that the remote works.

This is a very advanced device. So much so I could not figure it out myself. I emailed Logitech support and they got back to me right away and followed up several times to make sure my issue was resolved. That is why you should buy this tool.

    An almost perfect remote...

This remote replaces several remotes around the house. It is easy to program but has some minor and a major fault. Be aware that this remote has a limit of controlling only 10 devices which may be a problem for some users. The major issue is that you cannot rearrange the activities on the main screen. You can have only two main activities, such as listen to music or watch TV, but if you have more activities and they are on the second screen, you have to scroll to that screen to access it. If that other activity is a higher used activity, there is absolutely no way to move it to the first screen. A minor issue is that all the buttons are physically the same. My older Harmony had little bumps so you could differentiate the buttons by feel. Since this remote does not have that feature, it is quite easy to press the wrong button by accident. Advantages include its low price (66% cheaper than my older one which did have the ability to rearrange the activities) and the use of normal AA batteries.

I had the previous Harmony Universal controller and loved it for several years, unfortunately, so did my 1-year-old grandson! He got hold of it for an afternoon and it no longer worked. I hesitated to buy the latest remote because it is no longer supported. However, since I had no problems with the previous version, I decided to buy it. I love it. The app works the same way. I was able to remove my old controller and add the new one. I had upgraded some devices and I was able to add/delete them through the app. It was all effortless, but, again, I was familiar with the app and the previous model of the controller. The only issue I have had with the controller is that if it gets dropped or bumped a little hard, it loses some of the programming. However, I can enter help mode on the controller, point it at my TV/Cable/sound system and it will methodically step through each device until all are once again working with the controller. This takes only a minute or two. When this happens, I've never had to go back to the computer and use the app. I'm very happy with this controller even knowing the company no longer supports the device.

    Good Option Simple Setup

Generic setup is easy, seems to be limited to managing 3 different setups. As an example I have TV (antenna), Roku, and a Blu-ray player. I have it controlling 4 total devices, TV, Roku, Blu-ray player, Yamaha sound bar. The general setup took care of a lot, enough to be useful. You need to know your manufacturer and model number, and I’d also recommend having the original remotes. As an example the generic setup didn’t get all my TV remotes functionality. You can, however, use the original remote to teach the LogiTech. This is a saving grace. I’m still trying to get my channel up and down correct, but overall the ease of 1 remote is better than 4 different remotes.

Overall, the Logitechs work well. If you have no experience with real universal remotes (as opposed merely to programming your cable or receiver remote), then you must be prepared for minor disappointments. Not every button for every function gets programmed in, e.g., my "skip" ahead DVR button doesn't work. And the macros that say something like "watch TV" and attempt to turn on all the necessary devices don't always work. That said, you can put on a shelf half a dozen remotes and just use one. For this particular Harmony product, I had to contact Logitech via email and get a link to load a version of the software that would work with Windows 10. That was annoying, but the software did work.

I purchased one yesterday 12/19/2017 and set it up with one system. Setup went well with the DVD being a 2008 model. Today I purchased another one and set it up with newer Samsung equipment. This has made it easier to between equipment.

This device is terrific. Am able to control all my devices easily, TV, DVD, DVR, house security system and blue ray. A little difficult to install. The Geek Squad guy was quick and helped understand the entire setup and how to work it.
