Customer service horrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned many harmony remotes however this one doesn't compare to the others. The remote itself is nice and there's a chance I have a dud, but the customer service will not help. The remote won't charge and has error saying unable to charge batteries. I've called customer service time and time again, spending a lot of time on hold, and the only solution is to send a different charging cord. It has not helped and they won't replace. Don't buy this rechargeable one find another.

Excellent
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use with a Samsung 7100 LED T.V. a Samsung Blul-Ray player and a Yamaha receiver/amp. Set up was a breeze. You can really customize buttons further if you want to. Works very well, makes it easy for my wife to use. I love the setup. I had a little trouble figuring how to get the volume buttons to always control the recever volume, but I figured it out without reading any directions. This remote does everything I want it todo. It even knew how to work with a little composite video switcher box I have. I am very pleased. I also love how it turns on when you pick it up and turns off a little bit after you set it down. I still can't find ANY remote that will work with my Dish Network box that uses RF signals. I wish it would work for that.

Waste of money!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second logitech remote and I paid $30 to upgrade. The new one is just as bad as the less expensive one. Rarely turns on or off correctly. Will randomly change from tv mode to activity mode and then you cannot adjust volume or change channels. Then you must turn the tv off and start all over again. I highly recommend you purchase a different remote.

Don't read my review- just go buy one... NOW
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this last night, and I'm in love and in regret that I didn't buy one earlier. A couple great things- pick the remote up and the blacklight turns on so you can see the buttons in a dark room. My other remote can turn on all my stuff at once, similar to the Harmony, but the Harmony will turn off my satellite box and turn on the blu ray player when I click watch blu ray when on satellite mode. Also, I've got it programmed with my Lutron Maestro IR light controller. Pretty nice to be able to start a movie, then click a button to dim the lights to a perfect level. Phone rings, pause- lights brighten back up. The possibilities seem endless with the remote, and I'm loving it. I absolutely don't need a 120 dollar remote, my 20 dollar remote "worked" fine- but so did having several remotes. This investment provides huge convenience and it's a nice little gadget to add to my man cave.

Great remote with one major flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give this remote 3.5 stars if I could. The best thing about this remote is the My Harmony software which is a tremendous improvement over the older Logitech software which was arcane and very difficult to use. The My Harmony software makes set-up and modifying settings on the remote a breeze to accomplish. With the older software it could take you hours to configure your remote and get the settings right. There are 2 cons for this remote , one major the other minor. With my older Logitech 550 remote you could configure up to 16 devices with the 700 you are limited to 8 devices. If you have a limited number of devices this wouldn't affect you. However, if you want to use the remote with more than one television and/or have a number of devices that you want to control you are out of luck. This is an artificial limit that Logitech sets in order to steer you to there more expensive remotes. In order to be able to control as many devices as my old Harmony 550 you have to spend over $200 for a model that's comparable. The other flaw of the remote, much more minor, is the location of the number buttons on the bottom of the remote. In conclusion this would be a 5 star product if Logitech removed the artificial limit on the number of devices that can be used with the remote.

Love this remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have too many remotes. TV, DirecTV, AppleTV, Playstation 3, Wii, Surround Sound and Computer. I kept losing the AppleTV and Computer remotes because they are so small. My wife couldn't figure out which remote to use to get to the various devices. I have NEVER bought a universal remote i've liked. I would buy one, but after a couple weeks I'd find myself using it for a couple items, but also the original remotes. Eventually I'd stop using the universal all together. This time, I really did my research and was willing to spend more for the right universal remote. Logitech Harmony seemed to be the best out there. I went with the 700 because of the rechargeable batteries but still didn't cost a fortune because I figured I might end up not using it eventually. 2 Months later, I am using this remote every day for all my devices. It works with everything I own. Some people will complain about the set up (you need to attach to a computer connected to the net) but I love that you basically go online and do everything you want the remote to be programmed to do, then hit "Sync" and it download the information to the remote. It is really smart thinking. The remote has buttons for everything on all of my devices, and you can individually program any buttons you need to be ones you want. The only reason I am giving this a 4 out of 5 is because of the "activities" function. Activities are sequences of button pushes that are all made into a single button push. For example, if you need to switch your TV input to your BD Player, turn on the BD Player, turn on the surround sound and turn off the DVD player, you can set an "activity" to do all these things in a single button push. It is great in theory, but what seems to happen to me frequently is that one of the button pushes gets "missed", and suddenly, I am on the wrong input, BD Player, Surround Sound on and DVD player off. Then, I have a couple button pushes on the remote to get to the section where I "manually" switch the TV input. When this happens to my wife, she gets totally confused and seemingly randomly pushes buttons, which only causes more issues. Activities are a great idea, but the execution seems a bit lacking. That said, the "manual" usage of the remote is amazing and the remote otherwise perfect.

half useful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Too expensive and the battery has to be charged twice a week and you use the old remote for the 8 hours it takes to charge the batteries. Doesnt perform only half of the TV functions

Good Buy - Could Be Better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am fairly happy with this product. There were only a couple of problems. First, there is an issue with the backlighting. Below the LCD, everything is great; however, everything from that point up is dark. This includes all of the activity buttons, which makes no sense at all. Additionally, the remote would not program correctly for my Panasonic (DMR-ES40V) Recorder (DVD/VHS). This device is about four years old, so it doesn't seem unreasonable to expect it to work seamlessly with this remote. We purchased it primarily to replace the four remotes in the living room for our TV (LG 42LE5400), VHS/DVD Recorder (Panasonic DMR-ES40V), DirecTV DVR (R15-500 ), & Home Theater Receiver (RCA RT2350). The initial setup was practically a breeze. All I had to do was select each component by manufacturer and model number, then answer a few questions about our home theater configuration. I was also interested in replacing the two remotes in our home office for our TV/DVD/VCR (Toshiba MW20F11) and DirecTV Receiver (Samsung SIR-S300W). I was very pleased to find that it not only worked perfectly, but also flawlessly works in the master bedroom on our TV/DVD (Toshiba MD20F11) and DirecTV Receiver (Samsung SIR-S300W). What a bonus! I was able to place a total of eight remotes in semi-permanent storage! It may take a while, but I bet it will pay for itself by saving all those batteries I've been having to replace. We should've done this a long time ago!

Amazing Remote Choice
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like this remote. Not only does it provide an amazing amount of flexibility in programing options, the Harmony 700 is very well balanced and features great ergonomics. The rechargeable batteries have held up for 2 or 3 months on a single charge, and I couldn't be happier about that. If you're thinking about controlling your PS3 during bluray/DVD movies you'll need a Logitech RF controller as the 700 model doesn't support bluetooth. The only small drawback from this controller is that it only supports up to 6 devices at one time. Logitech's supported device database is quite extensive, and to my surprise, this controller can even control my Macbook laptop and my Apple TV unit. Though I currently only have 5 devices on my controller, I'm thinking about adding a multi disc bluray player that will finish the group off. Not having to keep up with 5 various remote controls is the only way to go! Programing the controller for your specific functions is kind of tedious, so do know that not everything is plug and play. For instance, when controlling my Pioneer A/V receiver, I programed the four colored buttons in the middle (red, green, yellow and blue) to control my 3 HDMI inputs and 1 for my iPod controls. The arrow pad below it can process my song skipping and changing albums where as before the iPod controls were difficult. Once your devices are all setup, spend some time with your Harmony 700 and get to know what you do and don't like about the setup. From there, note the dislikes and look at programing your buttons through software to make everything how you like it. All in all, this is the best controller I've ever had.

Works well but can't match all fuctions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the remote works well for simple functions like turning on TV and surround sound. The remote struggles quite a bit with networked activities through the TV. On the good side Netflix works well but when using screen share for pictures or sport tracking apps the remote doesn't accurately replicate scroll or directional movement function.

Best Universal Remote Under 100$
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased the Harmony 700 to replace my broken Harmony 650. The interface and button layout is exactly the same as my 650 but this remote has three huge advantages. It can control 8 Devices up from 5 on my 650 (now I can control my XBOX One!), Rechargeable batteries, and a better LCD Screen. It always annoyed me that I had to look directly at the screen on my 650. With the 700 this is solved! Off angle viewing is excellent and it appears to me that the pixel count has also been increased. If you are in the market for a new Universal remote I can safely say the Harmony 700 is well worth the the premium over the harmony 650.

Easy to use and setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time buying an all in one remote. Glad I took the chance love the ease of use and setup was so easy. Like the Activity feature. Use the remote to control my DirecTv genie box, Ruku, Apple TV, Blu Ray player, stereo receiver, Bose CineMate, and of course Tv.
