I was having trouble with my Dish Network remote and quite frankly was tired of having 4 remotes to deal with so I started looking for an advanced universal remote to replace everything. I did go into my search with the thought that I wanted a Logitech remote so it really wasn't a surprise that I ended up with this one, it does everything I want it to and its ease of use made it a good fit for my techno-phobe wife as well. I like how the remote actually learns as you use it, the first couple times I used it to watch a show off the Dish receiver it would not set the TV to the correct HDMI input but after telling it was wrong twice it hasn't messed up since. The only knock I would have about the remote is that it is a bit pricey, I would think that by now this technology would have come down considerably in price.

I bought this remote wanting a relief from the four remotes that control my tv. I love love love this remote. I could not ask for more with the ease of Setting it up. Charged it for three hours, pluged in to my computer and viola about 10 mins later i was controling everything. It even control's my cox communications cable box. No more need for the boxy remote it came with. I would buy this again. I have already told family and freinds about how awesome it is.

Received as a gift in May '11 from an out of town friend (was a Christmas gift). Up to this point, I was unable to find a universal remote that would match up to my Insignia NS-5101HD Surround Receiver. While setting this remote up on line with all of my components, it initially did not recognize this receiver. To my surprise, this thing is smart enough to copy the signals from the receiver's remote control by pointing the remote at the Harmony 700 and clicking a few buttons! Unbelievable! The remote works great with all of my entertainment components. Note: The remote's screen would not display anything. I contacted Logitech about the problem and they sent me a new one without any hassle. Ofcourse, the new one synced up fine and is great. If I could give this a higher rating, I would.

    Surprise by ease of set-up

I was hesitant to use a universal remote. I read how complicated it was to set-up. This was very easy. Walked through a few steps on the Logitech app and it was done. May be more complicated if you want to set-up a bunch of 1 button activities, but basic functions were done in minutes. The best feature for me is the ability to change which remote to use from the viewing window. Example, when I was streaming a movie through my DVD player, I could choose to switch to the DVD remote and have full functionality.

This is my second Harmony universal remote. The first one lasted three years then the black and white display died. Thought I would give this one a try. Does everything I need. Do enjoy the one button turn on for most activities. I have even programmed a couple of the general purpose buttons to do some setup switching on the HD TV. The display will stay lit up as long as you are holding it and moving. There is a motion sensor in it to turn the display on when it senses motion. Good to have so you don't need to find the back light button to see the display. Set up was not to difficult with the web site help.

I purchased this remote for my husband for Father's day. We kept seeing commercials for it so I decided it was time to lose the 5 remotes that we were currently using for our different systems. The twins' grandmother could never get a DVD to work when she was watching the girls which lead to screaming babies! I was a little intimidated at first and kept putting off the set up. When I finally sat down and did it, it was so easy. All you needed was the brand name and model numbers of your products. It took maybe about 20 minutes to get everything set up and in working order. I wish we had bought this remote sooner!

    Really ties the room together

I have been using the Logitech 700 remote for about a month with my simple setup: Samsung 46" LED 120Hz AT&T U-verse digital set top IPTV/DVR Sony Playstation 3 MS Xbox 360 I gravitated to this remote because of its price (I have only those few devices to tie together) and because of Logitech's well-received software and device database. While it took some reading of the forums there, before purchasing I was able to use Logitech's website to confirm support for all of my devices by entering their manufacturer part numbers. When I got this remote home, it was a matter of taking it out of the box, installing the Logitech software from the CD, entering my device part numbers, and answering a few confirmation questions for each "Activity". In my case the software made it's own decisions about what devices to assign to "Activity" function buttons.. for instance, while "Watching TV", the volume buttons send signal to the TV, while pretty much every other button send signal to the AT&T set top. Once set up the remote will take care of everything for you. I assigned my PS3 to "Watch a Movie", and my XboX to "Play Music" (just using what they give me). When I switch between "watch TV" and watch movie, the AT&T box powers down, the TV changes input and the PS3 gets powered on. All of the buttons work with the PS3 and XboX360 and my digital set top. Using the software to map "deep" functions (normally accessed through the LCD) to regular buttons is pretty easy, just switch tabs on the main screen, select the activity and assign/re-assign the "real" buttons as desired. It is great that it works with the PS3, but the price of the Bluetooth adapter felt about $20 too high. (The remote is all IR, and uses a special adapter to bind with the PS3). I am still impressed with how I had my basic set up ready to go and working in about 30 minutes with this Logitech. The price and unnecessary complexity of other universals had abated my interest in this market. This remote looks and feels almost like a regular cable remote. You have to make sure the device is pointed in the right direction when buttons are pressed, but this thing just WORKS. For me this was a no fuss situation that relieved my living room of 3 remotes. It really does tie the room together.

Picked this remote up on black friday and am very satisfied with it at the price I paid. However, I wouldn't recommend this remote at full price or to someone not willing to take the time to customize it. That being said if your willing to take some time and customize this remote for your entertainment system needs. You will really enjoy this device

I have the Logitech - Harmony Advanced Universal Remote setup in my "MANCAVE" to control my Insignia TV, my Verizon FIOS set-top-box, my LG Blu-ray player, my XBOX 360 and my Roku 3. The setup is very easy. The software works on Windows and Mac computers and is easy to us and setup the macros for the remote. I did need to call tech support and they were very helpful. I plan on buying another one of these remotes for our living room. I love this remote!!!

This is our second one. Now the wife and I both have one. It does everything that had hoped for in a universal remote. That was especially true when I found the adapter to control the PS3 station. The first one was a gift from my wife and she included programming from the Geek Squad. When I got the adapter for the PS3 and needed to add that to the remote I found out how little I knew. Anyway, when I bought the new one I also added programming from the Geek Squad and they fixed mine as well. Harmony as a whole makes great equipment from remotes to mice, you can't do better.

I replaced four remotes with just this one. The online computer set-up for this remote offered a very comprehensive set of devices on which it could be used. Once I entered my devices that I wanted to control the online program led me logically and easily through the set-up for my TV, home theater, and gaming systems. I made one mistake in setting it up but the help button on the remote helped me to locate the mistake I had made. My wife is very happy, even considering the $120 expenditure for this remote, because she can now use just one remote and doesn't have to call me to find out how to watch a movie on our TV. I gave the remote a 3 on durability because I have not had it long enough to be able to rate this aspect of the remote.

While I have only had the remote for a few days, it is by far the greatest remote that I have ever had! The set up was so easy! I just had to read the model numbers off of the front of my equipment, write them down, enter them into the software once I downloaded it, and then go thru the easy step by step set up process. Then, I found that there were a few things that I liked about my old remotes and therefore needed to custiomize the new remote. It was so easy to go back and do it! The remote really does do every function of every other remote that I have. I now actually only need one remote control. No other remote that promised that actually delivered. The only bad thing is that I had to pay $60 for an adapter for my PS3.

Conrols all functions of my TV, Cable Box, and Blue-Ray, and could easily handle some more devices. I like the tilt-sensor-activated backlighting, and the "Help" button is really quite useful for when the remote get's out of sync with the equipment (i.e. someone manually turns the power to something on/off which would cause the remote to incorrectly remember the "state" of the equipment). Price is reasonable enough that the average houshold should be able to afford one of these -- it's worth the extra $70 or so to have a truly easy to customize remote that will run even the most obscure functions of your A-V equipment

The setup could not have been easier. Charged it up, hooked it up to the computer and followed the online instructions. Counting the time to record the model numbers of my components it took about 25 minutes. All of the functions of my 3 remotes (TV, Cable Box and receiver) were carried over to this one. I plan on getting the PS 3 adapter soon and expect that to be just as simple. I also like the fact that when you pick it up, everything illuminates automatically. The only complaint I can think of is that the Activity buttons at the top of the remote do not illuminate. If the room is dark and you want to switch from "Watch TV" to "Listen to Music" it can be difficult to find the right button.

4 Remotes to One, quickly and efficiently

I finally got around to purchasing this remote when I would be missing at least 2 of my 4 remotes to my kids, and always at the wrong time. My experience with universal remotes in the past were cumbersome and annoying, but the Logitech is different. With the bundled software you can be up and running your devices in almost no time. As for compatibility with the many options each of your dedicated remotes has, the Logitech does a great job of doing all or at least all of the most important options you would expect from your remote. Once again a winner form Logitech and definite must for any household with more than 2 remotes. Remotes Replaced: LG TV Technics Receiver TOSHIBA DVD Apple TV

Very happy with this remote. I originally tried the AR160, I should have heeded the reviews. I spent hours with that remote trying to get it to function reliably and perform the activities I wanted. I finally gave up and returned it. I got this remote and from the time I got it home to the time I had it controlling six devices and performing 4 activities was less than one hour. The user interface on your PC is awesome and super straight forward. Its cool how the remote has its own help button to self correct any issues you might encounter and fix them on the spot. Bypass the AR remotes and go for this one. Some might cost less, but this is far better.

Got this on sale and am really pleased. The MyHarmony application for setting it up needs some work as the import of settings from my previous Harmony didn't work correctly but since my system is rather simple I decided to just configure it from scratch.

The set up was a little confusing at first but I persisted and the set up went through very easily and after a day or two the whole family understood how to work the remote. It took about 45 minutes to program everything. The only I have is that my Bose Lifestyle 50 doesn't work with the remote because it is an RF and not an IR. This is more a Bose issue than a Logitech. The issue is that on the web site it said that the Bose IS compatible but you need a $200 converter. Not good. So Instead of 4 remotes, I'll have 2. Better but not totally complete.

Excellent remote. I had the 510 but it just recently crapped out. I had it for 2 years and really liked it. It was very durable and held up well for that time span. I purchased the Harmony One expecting alot seeing how I was able to get a price check to match the online $169.99 offer. I brought it home, set it up and it didn't even work. It would turn on the wrong options and vice versa. It was way too sensitive and I also wasn't crazy about the feel of the plastic coating, it looks cheap. When returned the 700 model seemed obvious after reading so many positive reviews by top critics about that and boy I wasn't disappointed. Better look, better feel, and much more durable than the Harmony One. Most importantly very flawless. Don't waste your money if you don't need 15 devices. This product is great! Write down your model numbers, enter them on the program and enjoy! It doesn't take much to know how to set this up. Highly recommended. Again, excellent product.
