Older product that may work - but didn't for me

I purchased 2 - a gift for my daughter and a gift for me. My son-in-law got it connected to their entertainment system on Christmas Day. I wasn't so lucky. The hub wouldn't connect to my WiFi. I did the setup on my PC with the software available on the Logitech site. The first thing that the software did was update the software on the Smart Hub. Still, after setting up all my devices, the hub wouldn't connect. I called Logitech and Spectrum. The problem was that the hub needs to connect to the 2.4 g speed on the router. My router transmits both 5 g and 2.4 g speeds simultaneously . Spectrum told me that I couldn't isolate the 2.4 g speed for the hub to use (which was what Logitech wanted me to do.) The newer Harmony Elite costs $400. The older one was $140.

Posted .Hi Kate2747, thank you for your feedback! The Harmony system will only be able to detect the compatible 2.4 band from your Wi-fi router, no need to isolate. You may prefer using the Harmony app for setup, instead of the computer software. I finally had to return

I imagine this is a good remote if you can get it to work. I just use my other Logitech remote that works well. I do t think this is worth the cost.

Posted .Hello Cindi! Thanks for your feedback and sorry to hear the Companion wouldn't connect to your wifi and other devices. I'm sure you probably already did these steps but, in order to connect the Hub to your wifi, you need to download the Harmony App on your iOS or Android device, and then go through the configuration steps through the App. A more detailed guide can be found here if needed: https://support.myharmony.com/en-ls/companion - Mathieu from Logitech

Product does not work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve worked in I/T for over 23 years, so I tend to have an easy time with setup of items like this. This product flat out doesn’t work. I followed the setup instructions using the app for iOS, and it updated the hub. When trying to go through the process again, it came up E2012 “Updating software failed. Please try after sometime.” I’m not sure if this is a failed firmware update or an issue with this particular unit, but I’m basically out $100 because I waited too long to set this up. My wireless network is just fine, and my apple devices (tried on two) are just fine as well. Even tried to access the hub directly via IP to no avail. This is a waste of money and should be avoided at all costs.
