Great Remote Once programmed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 2 one for my parents and one for me. I found an article online that helped me tremendously with my Samsung 2016 curved smart tv but the one for my parents for their 2017 65”LG oled was imposible to get the smart apps working better the the actual remote that came with their tv. Very disappointed since that was their Christmas gift. Mine is great but took a few hours of working through sequences and delays to make it work properly. Definitely wasn’t as easy as putting in your equipment model numbers and setting up activities. Not for a beginner to setup for sure and I run a managed IT company with over 20 years experience. I would recommend but only if you can find the correct setups like I did online and they were not provided by Logitech. I had to google it

Good, but not Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Harmony remote for my new media room system. I also own a Harmony One which I use for my main floor system. I expected this Elite to be even better than the One, however, it's actually a little worse. It's more difficult to set up. Once set up, it does work well. The main drawback I have with this compared to the One is it doesn't have number keys on it. This makes it more difficult to switch channels on DirecTV without going to the guide or moving to the screen with the soft buttons.

Upgrade from older unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned a few Logitech remotes, they have all been excellent. When my 980 died I had to move to the new form factor, and since I was going to drop some $$ on a remote I opted for the touch screen. It works really well and is easy to set up like all the others the new computer interface (mac) is pretty straight forward as well. It is pretty sensitive on the tough screen, I have inadvertently changed the channel a few times. Also when you put a custom photo in the background screen you can not see the activities list very well. Overall it's pretty good and does what it should, it's pricey though, and the battery does not last more than 2-3 days before you need to put it on the charger, my older ones could go for weeks, they were not touch screen so I guess this should have been expected.

Great Universal Remote
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have tried many universal remotes from AR, home theater master and others. This is my first logitech and it is by far the best universal remote I have tried. All of my equipment is in an AV closet, The rf functionality was a must since there is no line of site except to the TV. This controls a Pioneer elite receiver, a Blueray, a Visio 70" tv and an openelec Video player on a raspberry pi and this had native presets for all. It is by far the most accurate and the ir blaster in the closet is phenomenal. I works every time. The setup program runs on my android phoneand was extremely easy to configure. Everything was right there and it even works as a second remote. The number of hard buttons is a must for using it without looking at it and the backlighting is there if you do need to look at it in the dark. I am a huge fan of this remote.

Back to the glory days
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using harmony remotes for about 8 years now but as of recent have been holding off upgrading to the latest and greatest because many of the recent models seemed more like a downgrade. This is not the case however with the Harmony Elite. The new placement of the touchscreen back at the top of the remote (vs middle on some previous models) means less accidental pressing and awkward hand positions to get what you want done. Logitech's ever growing list of compatible devices is one thing that has remained consistent and a big part of why I love the Harmony line. Setup is relatively easy for the power that you get from this remote. You can take the out of the box guided setup and keep all the defaults or if you are comfortable with more advanced setup steps you can customize the remote to do almost everything you could ever want (macros are back - mostly). The Wifi features and 2 included extenders make cabinet and line of sight issues a thing of the past. This is the best Harmony remote yet and well worth the price tag.

Excellent device! Replaces all my remotes!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is clearly an expensive device but well worth it if you wish to avoid using a wide variety of audio-video controllers. While with the Harmony Hub one may be able to use a mobile device such as an Iphone to perform the same functions, I wanted a device that all members of my family could use in my absence. The Elite was relatively easy to set up (I recommend using your computer) and has peformed flawlessly in controlling my high-end Samsung TV, ATT boxes, B&W soundbar and even my new model Apple TV. It is very easy and intuitive to use. Finally, I had to call the Harmony tech support to double check some set up steps; they were absolutely fabulous - patient, knowledgeable and responsive. All in all, my experience has been most positive.

Marked improvement over Harmony Touch
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am a remote aficionado. This is a well designed remote with some baked in features of much more expensive remotes. It directly supports BlueTooth (PS3/PS4) and has IR Blasters so you can locate its pod inside a cabinet or closet. The buttons are logically placed for easy use and the software allows a good amount of personalization. I would definitely buy this again. IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT THE TOUCH, READ ON: I owned the Universal 710s until Universal went dealer only with them (IMO a bad move) leaving me without the ability to easily customize them. I switched to the Harmony One's which are pretty good (not as flexible as the 710) then Logitech killed them for the Touch. As luck would have it, my wife sat on a One and broke it so I tried the Touch. The Touch is an ergonomic disaster if you use the FFWD/RWD buttons. The Elite fixes the mistakes of the Touch and adds some nice additional features.

Battery Problems!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Once I got this remote setup and programmed it worked great! After a couple weeks I noticed that the battery was not staying charged like it did when it came out of the box. I started putting the remote in its charging cradle every nite. Then, right before it died I noticed that the remote was very warm (almost hot) when I removed it from the cradle. It did not cool off as I expected and, 20 minutes into a show it just died, never to be charged again. I called Logitech support and they had me update the firmware - which did absolutely no good. I called back the next day and the support guy wanted me to go thru that same exercise again, this time updating the hub as well. I asked him if he read the previous ticket...he put me on hold for 5 min and came back on the line and said, "OK, we'll be sending you a new remote." I got the new one and had it setup pretty quickly - my Logitech Harmony account still had all the information so it updated pretty fast to the hub and remote. Even tho the remote works very well I'm giving it only 3 stars due to the battery problem. I've seen in other reviews that this has been an ongoing issue with these remotes for a while. Logitech needs to come up with a fix. One bright spot: while the remote was dead we had no choice but to use the Harmony app and it worked REALLY well. It has all the functionality of the remote and is very responsive. You can configure it so it remains on until you close the app. My wife likes the app so well she doesn't even want to use the remote any more. You may want to consider just buying the hub and using the app.

Terrific remote.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a wonderful remote. It would be overkill with a simple system. But with a home theater, gaming system and cable box it's perfect. It controls them allows for customization. For example you can tell the remote to keep the cable box on all the time. Setting up favorite channels is a breeze. Once set up its simple to use even with the less tech savvy members of your household. I game it 4 starts because the initial set up for me was problematic because my cradle wasn't working properly. However after a personal phone call from a technical representative from Harmony we figured it out.

The best universal yet.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Harmony Elite is the best universal remote to date by Logitech. I have used and/or installed numerous Harmony remotes over the years. If you like customization, this is defenitly the remote for you. The RF/Router connection to control devices works great. It was a bit tricky to figure out where to place the hub and IR blasters, but once I figured it out, they work great. The button placement is one thing that Logitech finally got right on the Elite. I bought this remote on sale, so it was worth the extra money to me. I am not sure it is worth the suggested retail of $350 though considering a few others do almost the same functions at almost half the price. However, button placement, ease of setup and customization make this remote a top notch addition to a home theater setup.

Great transition from older Harmony remote
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote replaced an older 880 model that was failing. The transition from old to new was relatively easy as the new remote does not use the same software - which is a good thing! The new software uses a combination of the remote, an app and a web site. Don't worry it's pretty easy. The remote itself feels good in hand and after spending some time with it I am sure I will adjust from the old. The hub took a few tries for placement but once I figured out the correct placement it works well. Overall after a few weeks I am very happy with the remote and would recommend it to anyone looking for a "all in one" remote. A+

Best Harmony so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I have owned many Harmony remotes over the years, since long before Logitech bought them and this is my favorite...so far. I refused to give up my Harmony One even buying a backup off CL, but the Elite pushed me into giving it a try, needless to say I am keeping it. At the same time I picked up a Philips Hue starter kit, the newer one supporting HomeKit. It fits and feels very nice in the hand, the subtle haptic feedback has turned out to be something I liked much more than I thought I would. It controls everything I need it to - TV, BD player, Uverse box, Onkyo, AppleTV, Amazom Firestick, Hue lights and even my Asustor NAS. I have not encountered anything I would consider an issue so far. If you are new to Harmony or a long time user, you should really try this one out.

An expensive but useful universal remote
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used Harmony remotes for over 12 years. They always seem to be an expensive solution to using multiple remotes on the coffee table. But having tried a different brand recently, the expense is worth it. As usual the set up is simple. The instructions seem sparse for a $300 item but I had no issues with the setup. Adjusting and modifying my macros has been seamless. Recently I tried a different brand the results were disasterous and I found myself upgrading to the latest Harmony package. I guess you get what you pay for.

It's what I expected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote is exactly what I have come to expect from Harmony. The remote looks great and works very well. Set up was extremely easy, but to be fair it took all my info from my previous remote. This is my 5th Harmony remote and I have the same issue with this one as I have had with the others. I would like a bit more flexibility in programming buttons. With a touch screen remote I should be able to lay out the display how I want it and not be locked in. Overall great remote for the price (after the $100 recycle rebate☺)

Pricey, but cheap if you need IR and RF in one dev
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I moved some of my stereo equipment to a closet and I was considering either to extend the wire from the hub to the dongle (about 50ft) to operate TV with my Logitech home remote, or upgrade the home version to the one capable of both IR and RF. Ended with upgraded version and solid setup. Everything works great now, but I have couple of complains. One is the price, and two -the remote itself seems to be very sensitive to accidental touch, but selecting an item on its screen takes great precision, For $350 this is very expensive remote, yet the cheapest one on the market capable to do RF and IR simultaneously, also love the ability to update the device over WiFI, without the need to connect the hub to the computer. Battery lasts about two days.

Powerful, but with limitations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was simple for routine devices, but very tedious for delving into internet content thru my smart Blu-Ray player. Like others have stated, I started with the App, but moved over to the full website on my laptop which at least got me to the "tedious" stage. Why can't the consumer just put a remote into a "learn" mode and perform the steps on the remote (including a timer for necessary pauses) and hit "enter"? Finally, compatibility with the "Internet of Things" remains rather limited. When will Harmony and Belkin finally shake hands?

Good, Intuitive Remote, almost Perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was reluctant to get a universal remote much less one at this price. Previous universal remotes didn't actually do everything and I would still be stuck with multiple remotes controlling multiple functions. This remote is different. When set up correctly it easily controls all of my cable, smart TV, surround sound, Xbox, and Sonos. Geek squad did a great job setting it up and we have enjoyed using it. Only occasionally does the signal not work from the remote but that happens with all remotes.

Latest gen harmony mostly nails it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my 4th harmony remote and while I've been mostly happy with previous gen remotes, I've had some issues in the past. This version has solved most of the problems especially the setup process. Positives : Buttons are placed ergonomically Setup is by far the easiest compared to previous gen Screen is bright and touchscreen is responsive There's trade in offer if you own previous gen harmony Negatives: Battery life could be longer A little small if you have big hands No numeric buttons ( but there's a touch screen version)

Went from 6 remotes to one!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was able to consolidate six remotes (Directv, Samsung Smart TV, Denon AV receiver, Sony Blu Ray player, Apple TV, and PS3) onto this awesome remote. Backlit buttons well lit touch screen easy to program using app on ipad. Once set up very simple to use can switch from one component to another with one touch on the touch screen. I know it is expensive but if you want to consolidate all your remotes to one I recommend you spend the money and purchase this top of the line remote.

Well worth the investment
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was a breeze, I'm very satisfied with this purchase and happy to have less clutter in my entertainment area. For reference I've connected a Samsung TV, Samsung Speaker, Amazon Fire Stick, Amazon Echo Devices, Xbox One, PlayStation III, Wii U and Hue Lights. The activity works perfectly, my favorite feature I set it to is the 'Morning News' custom activity which activates both rise and shine lights and the TV setup and set news channel to turn on when I need to wake up and automatically turns off when I leave on weekdays. It's like having a backup alarm and helps set the tone of the day. Both the remote and the app and devices work in Harmony great ;)
