Got this so I can "baby proof" my A/V system.

The main reason I got this unit was so I could keep my toddler away from my A/V system. I have my gear statched behind a wooden cabinate so that the toddler could not reach it. Because the unit sends a RF signal, the A/V system can receive the commands thru the closed doors. So far so good. The setup was very easy for me, just plug the hub into your computer and follow the step by step instructions. Took me about ten minutes. As an added bonus, this remote allows you to use your smart phone or/and Ipad to control your whole system anywhere in your home, as long as you are on the same WIFI signal. If you have a little gear destroyer roaming around your house, I definately recommend you give this remote a try. It will allow you to secure your gear out of line of sight and still enable you to control your whole system.

It's better than universal remote control

It can control a lot more devices than other universal remote. Setting it up is quite easy. Although it is working with SmartThings home controller, it is not functioning well. For one, the remote status is not updated in ST app.

    Great for Tinkerers

The Logitech Harmony system is not for everyone. Like with most smart home gadgets, it does require a bit of tinkering (although I would argue that it requires perhaps a bit more attention than other gadgets). Harmony doesn't necessarily recognize specific apps or devices. It allows you to control your home entertainment system like you would with a regular remote control (by moving left/right/up/down and hitting enter to choose your selection), only it allows you to do it all with one command. It's convenient, but if it's not set up right, it can create some problems. My biggest tip for everyone is to make sure you specify in the Harmony settings how your TV, receiver, etc., changes inputs, and to also go into your TV/receiver menu and make sure all of the different sources are visible regardless of whether or not they're turned on. Believe me, this will save you hours of troubleshooting (e.g. Why did the TV switch to the DVD input/HDMI 3 when I wanted to switch over to my Roku/HDMI 1?). All that being said, the Logitech Harmony system is a godsend for those of us who want our home entertainment system controls streamlined, both for ease of use and for multitasking. When I first saw demos online of the Harmony Hub being controlled by Alexa, I thought this was nothing but a tool for the laziest of couch potatoes. But after trying it out, it really does come in handy. Are you sick of juggling a bunch of remotes just to watch a DVD or some Netflix? Or maybe you're setting up a system for friends or family members who have trouble navigating across multiple devices on their TV? Or maybe you just like to watch TV or listen to some music while cooking or working on something and don't want to handle the remote control with dirty hands? If any of this sounds like you, then you may want to check out the Logitech Harmony Smart Control bundle (especially when it goes on sale).

Product works flawlessly with my entire system. I even figured out how to make it work in multiple rooms. My wife loves the simple remote and I love the flexibility of the smartphone app. Pretty much idiot proof once it is set up. If things get out of whack then you just hit one of the favorites buttons and it figures it out. And it almost never gets out of whack anyway. I just purchased one for my parents and will set it up for them. It is pretty easy to do, but it is a gift, so I figure I should provide the service for them. They have a surround sound amp that is behind a glass door and low to the ground. Their current remote is weak and it is hard to adjust the volume as a result. This thing is totally going to solve that problem. I highly recommend this remote for all users. Experienced or not.

I've had Harmony Remotes for many years. This one is great for its price. The buttons feel nice with a satisfying click and the connection to the hub is fast and reliable. In many ways I like this even better than the Harmony Elite remote that costs a lot more, the feel is better, the buttons are nicer. The lack of a display is a mixed bag, the simplicity and battery life savings are great but no custom activity buttons is a bummer. Also can't program a lot of activities on this remote because it has so few activity buttons. I also wish the buttons were backlit so I could see them in the dark. Again the battery savings here is probably worth it, but fumbling with it at night is also a bummer.

Bought to use to operate our new TV with our DVR, DVD, and cable box. We keep all of these items behind a wall and use the sensor that we mounted to top of our sound bar to run everything. We also use the app on our smart phone instead of the remote frequently. Easy to set up app. Our Best Buy Geek did a little setup with the remote.

Using this to control my TV with Amazon Alexa. Fairly easy to program and learning how to speak to Alexa to use the Harmony hub is simple enough. Best way to switch inputs easily and by voice commands.

Best "universal" controller I have used

Controls my satellite receiver, audio/video receiver, Blu-ray player, Roku, Sony TV, including most settings. Replaces all 5 remotes with few errors. Patience needed because response can be a little slower than the branded remotes. Also, requires methodical programming for each device. System helps with each step. I did it myself, but Best Buy Geek Squad will do it for $99 with purchase. May be well worth it for novice or tech-challenged individuals. Recommended with some reservations. Haven't tried it for lighting or other functions. Also, I think it works best with tablet-sized screen. Overall, very pleased with capability and performance to control audio/video system, even with some older components.

The hub is the heart of this system and is great. Versatile, easy to setup, and even works for equipment in cabinets with the use of the IR emitter. The only downside is the basic remote which sometimes lacks enough buttons to do the job. The main deficiency is the combined ff/Skip and re/skip buttons.

I got this product on sale back in January, and it's been a pretty good solution for controlling my home entertainment system, which includes Samsung tv, Sony receiver, Xbox one, and Apple TV. I love the Alexa and IFTTT integration, and the iPhone app makes it easy to control the system when my kids lose the remote. I've still got more to learn about setup and button configuration, but I haven't really tried very hard to figure it out. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase.

Love this universal remote, you can set it up from your phone and you can use the remote it comes with or your cellphone as a remote. it works through wifi to connect through your phone and if your wifi goes out you can still control your devices with the included remote. So happy with this purchase.

This is the best remote we have ever had. While it is some what time consuming to set up, once it is done it is a dream. One click and it generates multiple commands to the various components to reconfigure for TV, music, movies via Apple TV, etc... Finally my wife has a single remote she can use with ease which simplifies my life as well.

Have had Harmony remotes for years, most recently the One. Always loved them with a few minor complaints with durability and the software. Recently picked up an Amazon Echo and wanted to be able to use voice commands and snagged this on sale. Logitech has improved the software which imported previous settings and made set up very quick. Voice commands work perfectly (when the kids aren't screeming). But the best thing about is the IR blaster and extender. With previous remotes I had to point it directly at devices and even then it would occasionally miss a command; not so with the hub, it just works every time. Got a great deal and it works great. Well done Logitech.

I love this Harmony from Logitech as it takes away the need of the direct view of the devices for the remote to work. Also, it works on my phone. So, I can control devices even If I dont have the remote next to me.

Previous hub was a Harmony Link by Logitech, the new Hub came with a simple remote, which my wife has now learned to use. Still need the Fire TV remote, but have put my other three remotes away. Also Logitech is replacing my old Link for free and will use that Hub with my family room system.

I previously had a Harmony 650 that I liked, except it would not control my Amazon Fire Stick. Replaced it with this and I'm very pleased. It was fairly easy to set up using the app on my phone, and it's working great for me. Using it to control a Panasonic TV, Sony Blu-Ray player and sound bar, DirecTv and a Wii U.

It took a bit to get the hang of setting up the harmony. It's not as user friendly as it could be. I was also disappointed that I am forced to use the mobile app for all set-up since I use Linux and Harmony has gone to a dedicated app for Windows and the Mac (no Linux support) instead of programming through a browser. Once set-up though, I like having the ability to use one remote (or a spare 5" tablet) as our remotes and like it well enough that I now have 2 hub/remotes. One in the living room and the other in our bedroom. When the hub/remote goes on-sale, its a pretty good buy for a fairly powerful universal remote that also ties into my Smarthings home automation system.

This unit replaced an aging Harmony One. I was able to migrate my settings quickly and easily. The only thing I really miss is the help button.I can get to it through the app but a button on the remote would be better.

iPhone app is nice and allows more functionality than the remote that comes with it. Highly programmable would recommend the next model up as the remote does have limitations due to the number of buttons on it.
