Great Remote esp. if your trying to hide system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the remote, after I got a smart TV that would have operated everything I own, but the receiver would not work so I got this.. it is simple & easy, my mother-in-law loves it soo much she is getting one for their system.. plus its great to hide your theatre system using the additional ($$) IR cables.

Really Good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's easy to setup. I've had a few Harmony remotes and other universal remotes and this is the first time I've gotten everything to work exactly right, the first time. It works great. The IR blaster is strong, so you won't miss a component when switching activities. The app is great too. The app allows quick access to favorite channels and has the ability to edit settings for your setup. It's great. Gesture controls for adjusting volume work fine, but if you don't like the gestures, you don't have to use them. The new slim remote is nice. It's compact, has a clean design and feels solidly built, but it would be nice to have more activity buttons. Overall, it's great.

Very easy to setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very easy to setup but I am pretty technically inclined. Love that it is select and forget where previous handheld devices would have to be continuously pointed at the devices. Being able just pickup phone/mobile device instead of finding the remote is also great

Great product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this remote to pair with our Amazon Echo for quick and easy access to TV and Roku. Rarely does a product exceed expectations but this one did. I purchased this on sale for $70 and got a steal. I was familiar with Logitech remotes since I already used an old Logitech 900. The setup was extremely easy and the pairing with my Amazon Echo was surprisingly easy as well. This system now controls my TV, AV receiver, U-verse box and Roku. Everything is voice controlled. This system makes TV viewing so much easier.

Great remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great remote for a second area/bedroom. I use an Elite in the main living room which is backlit and has more buttons, but for controlling less products, this works great.

Simple design yet powerful
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this. At first I thought this was useless since I'm stuck with activities only instead of individual devices. Then downloaded the app, began to configure the buttons...(Yes, that did take a little longer than I thought)...omg, once completely configured, this is the best thing ever. Simplified my life forever. No more multiple remotes to fumble around or look for one under the couch, kids room, inside the fridge, and so on. Plain simple. Love it. And it can be configured completely to accommodate (whether to leave the devices on while switching to different devices, exact replica of original remote so that you can access all the functions of a device, or most of the buttons can be used for short press or long press for dual functions, etc). Learn to configure and put some time into it, best thing ever. One shortcoming that I agree with some others is no light...although once you begin to use a lot, you begin to memorize the buttons and know them by heart that you should be able to locate every button by touch only... But then again, that's just me who does use whole lot of any remote. For me, very thumbs up.

Second one works great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using Harmony remotes for 12 years. This Smart Hub is replacing a Harmony 880 which worked great for 6 years but after 3 teenage kids the buttons took a beating. Bought this because of the smartphone apps, everyone can have their own control on their phone. Initially worked great, copied the setup from my old 880 profile and was working within 5 minutes. However, the next morning it would not respond to smartphone or included remote. Red LED was blinking. I power cycled the hub and it re-synced with my router and worked great for 2 days then same thing happened again. Happened 4 times over a week. Logitech tech support took 5 days to respond and only offered basic help ( try re-syncing with your router). Returned to BB and gave it 1 more try with another unit. So far after 1 week I have not had to power cycle it yet (knock on wood) and its working great. Assuming the first unit was a fluke I highly recommend this. Very reasonable price for what this provides.

Great remote!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this remote after reading reviews. It is very easy to set-up and love the sleek look. I was able to shed four of my remotes and simplify my life!

Great!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to replace a dying Logitech Harmony One that had been dropped one too many times. So far so good. This thing is really great. Contrary to the setup instructions, I placed the hub on a shelf on the wall opposite TV cabinet. I've had no issues with IR control and I don't have to use the included extra "IR Blaster". Setting up the activities through the Android app is fine but modifying them is just a tad tedious. But setting up the Harmony One was much more tedious. When i consider that this cost about half what the Harmony One cost, this is a slam dunk.

Simply fantastic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those who are unaware, Logitech had a version of this product out last year that was essentially a flop. This is the new and improved version. Bought it a couple hours ago to replace a broken Harmony One. I am in love. No more messing around with a separate device. My phone controls all my components easily and flawlessly. Setup was a breeze as iPhone app guides you through the process. Buy it.

Easy to use but requires the Hub
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off with a little backstory...Had a Harmony One+ for years now and figured I'd upgrade and get the greatest and latest Harmony Elite remote. Trying to save a few bucks, instead of buying the Harmony Elite (Harmony 950 + Hub) for 250 on sale, I figured I'd buy the Harmony 950 for 170 and the Harmony Smart Control (Basic Remote + Hub) for 53 just to get the hub and have a spare remote for my bedroom all for a total of 223. Cool...27 dollars saved. First thing I learned was that the Smart Control requires the Hub to work. Minus 1 star for that. So there went my plan to use the Elite with the Hub in my living room and just use the cheap remote in my bedroom. Messing around with both the fancy Elite and cheap Smart Control, I actually liked the cheaper Smart remote better! The touch screen portion of the 950 I felt was just too much and just in the way and felt like more things to press. The one main thing I love about the Hub setup is that I'm now able to tell Alexa "turn on projector" just to turn on projector to use my computer that's on 24/7 and connected to it or "turn on HBO" and it will turn on my projector, DirectTV and go to HBO. Can also change channels by telling Alexa. Pretty sweet if the remote isn't near me or I walk in the door from work and just want to turn the projector on right away. I'm still learning the control, the one thing I can't figure out right now is if I'm in DirecTV mode where the DirectTV remote is active, not sure how to go back to my projector remote to adjust projector settings if necessary. On the 950, you just hit "devices" and hit projector...but its not like that on the Smart Control...at least I haven't figured it out yet. As of now if I hit the button I have set for Projector while in DirecTV mode, it will turn off my DTV device, change inputs and go back to my PC input. Have to figure that out. Also like that you can use your mobile device as a remote to work with the Hub if you want. Apparently though if you're internet is out, the Hub will not work since it uses Wifi in addition to Bluetooth. I haven't tested that out yet though. While the Elite was a nice remote, I felt it was more than I needed and I ended up returning it, using the Smart Control in the living room and bought another Smart Control to use in my bedroom. So far I'm happy with it even though I don't use the control itself too much because Alexa controls most of what I want to do unless I want to watch recorded shows on DVR...unless I can set that up with Alexa somehow too and just don't know it yet.

Headache Over
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently bought the Sony XBR-X900F TV and the Samsung HW-K850 soundbar. I was super excited to have the Atmos sound with the great picture. Unfortunately, my shoulder started to get tired of trying to reach just to get to my TV apps. The soundbar is so big that it covers the IR receiver on the TV. I have the TV on a stand with a mount. I couldn't adjust the TV high enough to avoid the problem. I went be Best Buy looking for an IR repeater/extender. I couldn't get the transmitters to hit the IR receiver. I was getting pretty frustrated. I was contemplating replacing the soundbar with the Sony HT-Z9F. I was looking for solutions and Harmony popped up. I have 3 Harmony remotes in my home and I love them. I took back the IR Repeater and bought the Harmony Smart Control. My prayers were answered. I imported my configurations to the new remote and it has worked without any issues. I had to add the the IR Blaster but that's no big deal. I will always be a fan of Harmony because they have helped me with many of my configuration challenges.

PERFECT ENTRY LVL CONSOLIDATION REMOTE!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've worked with technology in home for yeats..installed all of the top name automation systems and made some pretty cool things happen. Harmony (Logitech) has done a great job evolving their product over the years and have made some pretty darn good remotes. The Smart Control is the perfect entry level one room system on the market IMO. If you have a Pro Installer like myself set it (or any others) up you have yourself a painless experience. The installer also can do remote login "only with your permission" to make any changes needed in the future. These remotes have caught some bad reviews.. but from what I have read it's mainly due to people failing to call tech support during programing, they will walk you through the process and make sure it's right. Not asking for a few tips causes the owner to have to live with minor issues from the remote. There are many tricks to making this product work properly and I have many happy clients to prove it.

Great Universal Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THE GOOD. Battery life is one year+. Remote (or your smart phone) talks to Hub via RF so you can hide components. Once setup, remote is very easy to use, even for non-technical members of your family. THE BAD. Limited selection of buttons. Each button can be programmed for two functions (short or long press) but that can be confusing. Bluetooth only works with PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. Do not expect any other bluetooth devices to work. OVERALL: I highly recommend this remote to anybody who needs a universal remote. Battery life and ease of use make it superior to LCD models in my opinion.

Can be hard to set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works easily with my DIRECTV Genie. Duplicates original controller. With my 3rd generation Apple TV also works fine, but must use MyHarmony app to teach commands and map them onto the Harmony remote. Duplicates original controller. Tougher with my Sony Blu-Ray Home Theatre which I set up to run through a sequence of steps to select one of 6 "Activities", watch TV, watch Amazon, watch Netflix, watch DVD, play FM, and play music. That took me three days to figure out, but works beautifully once set up. Before buying, decide how complicated your aims are, and whether your objectives will require you to spend days getting it going.

Best Remote I've purchased!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a Harmony 800 series before. I loved it until it started having issues. I haven't had one for a while due to the past issues. My wife doesn't like all of the device remotes laying in a pile on the end table and using each one every time we want to watch TV. I googled the Harmony remote and read many reviews on this unit. It is what everyone is writing about. I LOVE THIS REMOTE! After the step by step setup (I have changed devices since the 800 series remote, so I couldn't import the settings) , the remote worked flawlessly. After I showed my wife, she is very pleased with it. No more fiddling with multiple remotes. All of the main buttons on the other remotes are on this remote and the software, through the setup process, determines which setting is used for the activity you want to do......ie watch TV. All in all a great remote!

Awesome remote, almost awesome app
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the best functioning Harmony remote I've owned. When I hit the activity buttons everything switches quickly and accurately. The inclusion of Bluetooth in the hub makes it possible to control my PS3 without a separate IR receiver. I've got the hub tucked back on a shelf in the media console and it's able to send clear signals to devices on other shelves and the TV mounted on the wall above. The only reason I gave this remote 4 stars instead of 5 is the somewhat awkward smartphone app. It's not terrible but it's not the most intuitive thing in the world either. Luckily that part of the package is the easiest to upgrade later and I'm sure Logitech will iron out the wrinkles once the feedback starts rolling in. All in all a great purchase.
