Don't buy this
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like others I found the programming to be cumbersome. It took 2 hours to get everything workning correctly and we only have a tv, cable box, receiver and CD player. We bought a new Sony 4K Smart TV and we neeeded a remote that would work all the activities including the smart tv. We FINALLY got everything working but the remote disconnects from the wifi. so we were constantly having to reconnect and re-run the set up. We kept having the issue of the remote not powering the TV on and Off. We ran the activity set up and/or repair countless times. each time we would get it fixed and think everything would be ok then the next time we would use it it would fail. We ran on that gerbal wheel 3 days. Done!! This thing goes back to BB today. BTW - we are both techies so we had everything set up correctly. We have been using an older Harmony 650 and the buttons are getting worn so we thought we would upgrade. Big mistake. We were able to program the old 650 and it works like a charm. I think Logitech missed the boat on this new remote with the hub.. If you read the reviews on the Harmony app you will see many people having the same connections issues with the app. very frustrating.

Good RF AV system remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced my worn out 880 with new Smart Control. The Smart Control was easier to program than the 880 as the software was better. By trial & error, I figured out the mini-blaster has to be located adjacent to the TV. All other components & the "hub" are hidden inside the cabinet as desired. Did not use the I-phone software option, but the black remote works perfectly. So far so good.

Great versatility!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am very pleased with my Harmony Smart Control! I have been able to control 8 devices, between two separate rooms, simultaneously using two remotes(iphones).

Excellent Remote
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I set the Harmony Smart Control up using MyHarmony.com, which was easy, it guides you through the set up. The hub is smaller than expected, and the "simple" remote that came with it is fantastic, super slim and has plenty of functionality. Obviously this set up is more for use with and set up with your smart phone, I found the iPhone app a little complex on initial navigation (after playing with it for a few minutes it all made sense). If your tired of using multiple remotes and you own a smart phone, do yourself a favor and just get it!

Works, but not very well
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not have any trouble getting my Samsung Smart TV connected and the sound bar also was working. When I wanted to use the other colored buttons to control another device, it would not work. I tried the iPhone app and the PC GUI ... no go. Seems like it could be a good product, but it either too complicated or it just doesn't work. I really doubt that it is overly complicated as I have worked with devices much more sophisticated than this.

Save Your Money! This thing is junk.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote seemed to work well when I first got it, but after a little while, I kept having issues out of it. Mostly the hub will stop responding..... a lot. I was also having issues quite often where the hub would send random commands. For example: I'd press the volume up key and the DVR would pause. Or I go to fast forward and the menu would popup. However, this particular problem seemed to be resolved with the latest firmware update. But the hub remains a big problem with not responding. Usually a reset of the hub will fix it, but today, it just stopped responding all together. Nothing I did fixed it. Unplug. Plug. Use the reset button. Nothing. I even have the latest firmware on it too. The remote is totally useless without the hub. Major design flaw. They should have allowed you to have the option to use the hub or not. This thing is NOT worth the money. I paid well over $200 for this stupid thing and I'm stuck with it because it's past the point where I can return it. Please, go find a different remote. The other Harmony remotes, without a hub, work beautifully. I'm going back to the 700 series Harmony. Personally, I think Logitech ought to pay me back or send me a free 700 series Harmony.

best remote I've owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had several harmony remotes and all of them have had their issues. This one by far is the best. The setup was cake. The feeling of the remote is great. Well balanced and the texture on the back makes it easy to hold onto. Only con.. No back light but I'm sure that's due to the small onboard battery. Which should last one year per documentation. Yah right. Oh and the freaking ir blaster has to be right in front of your Xbox..

Junk! Run the other way.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used (or tried to use# this remote for over a year. Didn't want multiple component remotes #TV, Sound Bar, DVR, Blue Ray# laying around. This seemed like the answer. Unfortunately it does not open "activities" as promoted. For example, "Watch TV" should turn on the TV to HDMI1 setting, Turn on the DVR, and turn on the sound bar to D.IN setting. The TV source will always remain on the previous setting #...get out the TV remote and change it#, and the sound bar will randomly cycle through the half dozen input settings and invariably we're never lucking enough to hit the right input #...get out the sound bar remote...#. Switching off "Watch TV" and turning on the "Watch Movie" activity starts the circus all over again. It will usually power up all the right devices for each assigned activity, but never selects the correct input settings. Yes, I have disabled "Anynet" on the Samsung TV and sound bar. There should be no reason for the random selection by Harmony. I've deleted the activities numerous times and re-programed the activity settings to no avail. Now there is one more remote among the mix, until I get annoyed enough to just throw this junk in the trash.

Simple to use, easy to set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love harmony universal remote controls. I had a Harmony one that the screen broke on the inside and Harmony indicated that it was not under warranty. I had to replace the control and this harmony smart control is the best. I will not have a problem dealing with a broken screen, if I need a touch screen the remote allows me to use my smartphone. The remote has less buttons than the Harmony One, but you can set the buttons for different activities, and if you need the buttons of a particular device, like the av receiver, you can access them in your smart phone.

Good, but ad-supported
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this yesterday, and hooked it up and it seems to work as pretty well. Then I integrated it with my Google Home for voice commands. That integration also works well, with one awful exception. I expect that voice-controlled devices will on occasion not recognize the command. Home says "sorry, I didn't understand that.' It seems that when Harmony doesn't recognize the voice command, it plays a commercial for Amazon Streaming services that takes about 15 seconds to complete. In less that 24 hours this has happened to me 4 times. I saw no mention of this being an ad-supported device or service, and would not have bought it if I knew it was. I have contacted Logitech customer support to confirm that this isn't some annoying new-user thing. If listening to ads are a requirement for using this product, I will be returning it. I'm putting NO in the required 'would I recommend to a friend' checkbox here.If I didn't get these commercials I would make that a resounding YES and change my review to 5-stars.

Such a frustrating product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will be returning this product today! I have tried for the last 3 days to get this device to set up properly, and my phone will control the devices correctly, but the remote will not turn on the devices correctly or at all, and the activities control would never set up correctly. So frustrating because this was supposed to be a birthday present and I feel like I've wasted so much time trying to get it to work correctly. Not a user friendly product, and very buggy with the setup (like if you are trying to get the TV to set up correctly, it wants to fix the amp or the cable box instead), or instead of turning the TV to the correct input (HDMI 4) it turns it to TV or AV instead, no matter how many times you tell it to set the input correctly, change the input settings, change the power settings, change the delay settings, NOTHING WORKS!

Finally - A remote that does it all!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have tried many universal remotes over the years. This remote was easy to set up - took about 30 minutes total. You need to read carefully and follow directions. After programming it to one iPhone, we were surprised that it automatically set it up on the other iPhone and 2 iPads. What an easy operation! We are still organizing the icons to our preference. It is so easy to use. We are in our mid 70s and anyone should be able to set this up with ease. Great product so far...just got it for Christmas!

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you don't have or want another remote even one that is unified than i guess this works for the duel purpose but i noticed a serious drain on my Iphone's battery I had a problem with the Wi Fi dropping as well so I elected to return it and order another Logitech harmony touch

Need another remote to use sometimes?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote could be used to control basic functions of a TV/Entertainment center but not as a replacement for all remotes. I didn't want another remote to have to keep up with, I wanted to use just ONE remote. The remote detected my TV, Blue ray player, and Home Theater receiver automatically, I had to add my DVR. I thought this was a good sign to start off with it detecting most of my hardware, but that didn't mean it would control it all. I had auto detected my Sony Blue ray player, but that was all it would do with it, no controlling it at all. Now this Blue ray player does have an RF remote, but so does this Harmony. I found the remote slow to respond to commands like advancing DVR, and other key presses. This is most likely because all commands must be sent from the remote to the hub, then out to the device. I thought the app was not real intuitive to navigate, like during setup of the buttons. It was nice to be able to do this from a smartphone and it sync those changes to the remote, but could have been easier to find in the app. The remote's finial straw was that I had to keep the other remotes handy because I could not change what device I wanted to control without playing a macro and switching multiple settings. If I wanted to change focus from the DVR to the TV, it would change inputs too. Unlike other remotes there is not simply a TV, SAT, Audio and ect, buttons, they are setup as macros like watch TV. The watch TV command would turn on the TV, and set the input to home theater receiver, turn on the DVR, and set the receiver input to DVR. So just by me wanting to change focus of control it would play though macros such as that, and end up changing way too much stuff and turning on and off things that I didn't want it to. And if you were to use the original remote to control a device, then the Harmony gets confused as to what the status of a device currently is and makes things even harder to do. I know why I was finding so many of these devices listed as refurbished on other websites, they must have a ton of returns. Harmony please come up with a better device, I would love to be able to have one remote to eliminate the need of the others.

A godsend. Wish I would've bought one sooner.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This remote makes switching back and forth between TV functions a breeze. It controls my Vizio TV, Polk soundbar, Roku, Amazon Fire stick, PS3, Apple TV and Xbox One. Doesn't control PS4 well, but that's because of Sony, not Logitech. Set-up was a breeze using iPhone app. I was up and running in no time. If you hate juggling your Roku and TV/volume remotes, this is what you're looking for.

Great Remote!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old Harmony remote was starting to have issues (its heavily used on a daily basis) and I knew it was time to get a new one. This is actually the 2nd one of these that I have purchased. I love that the base station has IR blasters, it makes hitting my devices with a signal very easy. No line of site? No problem!
